Reached out for help with a small leak in our roof. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Scheduling was prompt and Adam the owner did a good job with the inspection. It was looking promising.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Then we received their quote for $1,600 to seal 1 facet with mastic. They did not offer any warranty on their work. I found the quote very confusing because in my mind it would only cost ~$50 in mastic and 1-2 hours of labor to seal roughly 10 sq ft. [[HIGHLIGHT]]When I asked their representative Ashley to explain my confusion about why the quote was so high or if I was misunderstanding the scope of work required, I was met with hostility, rudeness, and an amazing level of unprofessionalism.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]After dodging my questions for several rounds of back and forth, this was Ashley's final e-mail to me: "We do not charge per hour. We do not breakdown our quote for anyone. We have to send 2 guys for safety reasons and if they finish quickly, I still have to pay them minimum 4 hours. That's the law. I don't think you understand what it costs us in insurance, payroll, Workers Comp. You are welcome to leave a review, and I will explain my side. You never even hired us. I recently ordered Tesla Solar for my home and during the inspection by them, I received bad news that the section of roof that solar was to be installed on needed a complete reroof. The single layer of paper that was installed in the original home build was deteriorating. Obviously a large expense that I hadn't planned for financially, though not completely unexpected since we were notified during our home purchase that repairs had been made to the roof previously for leaks. I requested 3 different quotes from local roofing companies to make the repair and Adam and Ashley from Monarch were the most responsive and easiest to work with. Monarch was also the least expensive of the 3 quotes, but inexpensive certainly didn't mean low quality. After my initial call, Ashley reached out to me right away and was able to provide me a rough estimate based on the inspection report and measurements by Tesla. The next morning Adam came out and verified the price Ashley gave was accurate and he spent the time to walk me through the entire process of repair. He went through his qualifications (been working on roofs since he was 14) and talked about his business so I felt comfortable and immediately asked Adam how soon he could start the repair. He said the next morning (a Saturday) and with that we were under way. It took one full weekend and Adam along with his crew made the repair in quick order. The other companies that provided quotes sent sales people but it was reassuring to see Adam actually up on the roof swinging the hammer and directing his crew. I was impressed at how professional they were and how Adam checked in with me during the day to give me updates, showing me areas of plywood that had leaked during the last rain and noting how lucky we were to have caught this now before real serious problems occurred. During the install our back yard area was a mess but by the time the crew left both days the work area was absolutely spotless. During the repair, Adam pointed out a few flaws in my overhangs that needed repairs and he went ahead and fixed them free of charge since he had spare material and the tiles were off anyway. Now that the repair has been completed our Solar install can continue but what impressed me the most was Adam said to contact him should the solar installers ruin any tiles so he could come back and replace them with the correct tiles that fit right. He said not to let them do a subpar repair to his work with ill fitting tiles. I feel he genuinely cares about his craftsmanship and my satisfaction. A project like a reroof is by no means a small or inexpensive project, but you can feel confident with Adam and Ashley managing your roofing project.
