Working with Outer Shield Roofing was one of the best experiences we've had working with vendors in the last few years. First and foremost, the estimate done was so thorough. Alejandro spent probably triple the amount of time up on our roof, inspecting and documenting, compared to anyone else we had out. Once he was done, he came to my door, showed me pictures and videos of everything wrong. But he also spent the time to explain to me what the problems were, why it was important to correct them, and why he would be recommending certain types of solutions. We got a full estimate from them, with three different options, from the most affordable to the most expensive, but with explanations about the specific differences between the options. Sound like what you'd normally expect from an estimate process, except we haven't been able to get service like this from any vendor in more than decade. Our project was complicated. Not only do we have solar panels, and an AC unit on our roof, everything that could be done cheap and wrong has been done to our roof (before we owned it). We had an old chimney that needed removal as well as some old vents for swamp coolers long gone. Even though some pretty terrible additional things popped up during the project, the whole thing came out within 6% variance on our estimate. Compared to all of our other home projects, that was excellent. Someone who can provide estimates that accurate on a roof as complicated as ours is a true professional. All steps of the process are documented with photos and videos from beginning to end, which is really cool. And good business. Every day, the work was started when scheduled, and cleanup happened every night. Before they left, someone would check in with me to let me know how things were going, and what the next day would look like. Most of the time it was Alejandro, the owner of the company. He was often at our house, working and supervising. Many times he would show me progress pictures and explain what they did that day. Deliveries of materials came when expected. Subcontractors (for the removal of the AC and the solar panels) came when scheduled, and were well managed by Alejandro. Again, something we've had so much trouble with in the past with other vendors. I've had bad experiences with contractors in the past, so I am the type of person who googles everything someone tells me I need or should do. Every time Alejandro explained something to me or recommended something, I would check it out, and every time his explanation or recommendation would turn out to be the industry standard or better. Alejandro and his crew were professional, fast, and pleasant. I've not seen a better run crew or project. Not only would I recommend his services, but I told him to leave the lawn sign in front of my house so my neighbors and passers-by can get his info. Special shout-out to Erandi who was so communicative, responsive and supportive. She helped me get my paperwork to the insurance company and made the contracting and payment process easy. I'm sure you'd like to know what we think of the roof? It's great! I know it seems like it should be the star of the review, but in truth, we don't see it much. My roof needed repair from the heavy rain we had gotten 2 weeks ago. Noticed there was a leak coming from my ceiling. I reached out and contacted them. They were able to schedule me as soon as possible and even found time in between the rain to tarp my roof to prevent further damage. Prices were affordable and fair. Alejandro and his brother did an amazing job. He was very thorough, organized, attentive, and careful. He explained the process in detail and provided pictures of everything that was fixed. We were expecting rain coming this weekend and he rearranged his schedule to come have it done the next day! He even offered to fix some of the roof tiles that slipped and made sure any replacements in the front of the house matches the rest of the home! Outstanding experience! We had an aging composite shingle roof with a couple complications. They worked with us from the start to walk through the details and get an estimate with plywood, quoted competitive numbers upfront and stood by it through the end. All other roofers we worked with seemed to be lowballing quotes upfront just to add cost later in the repair. The job itself went amazingly quick. I contacted multiple companies for estimates on gutter cleaning and Outer Shield was reasonably priced compared to other companies, and did a great job. Friendly, fast, thorough. They even check for and clean up any debris in the valleys on the roof that could make it's way to the gutters. They take several pics to show their work from up top. Our 22 year old asphalt shingle roof began losing shingles after a recent heavy storm. We knew that the Coachella Valley desert sun had taken its toll and decided to replace the entire roof rather than repair it. We contacted 4 roofers and they all came and gave presentations. We chose Outer Shield Roofing based on Alejandro's presentation, describing everything that needed to be done to bring the roof up to 2024 standard, and we are glad we chose them. The lines of communication were always open especially with Erandi who manages the office and handles everything from scheduling to billing and everything in between. They also handled permits and inspections with the City of Palm Springs and kept us informed every step of the way. When work began, they discovered the original plywood had not been adequately secured and they corrected that. Also some of the fascia board had to be replaced which they did and then primed and painted. All the vents were replaced to be more efficient and to give the roof a sleeker profile. They cleaned up every afternoon when they were done. The entire roof was installed per the original schedule in 4 days. Alejandro has contacted us since the completion of the work to see if we have any issues...and we have had none. We would not hesitate to recommend Outer Shield Roofing to anyone! read more
