Pony Winery needs to be on your list when visiting Temecula!! The property is gorgeous and the patio where we had our tasting had such a nice ambiance. We made reservations so there was no waiting. The staff were friendly and had great suggestions based on your preferences. I mixed my tasting with white and red and I found favorites in both. I took a day off from work yesterday and visited Temecula with my mom. We decided to eat lunch here and left quite satisfied. Restaurant: It was a hot hot day in Temecula but their automated misting system kept us cool enough. Their complimentary focaccia bread and green dipping sauce are YUMMY. We shared their shrimp sandwich and clam spaghetti (red sauce instead of white). The clam spaghetti was good but the management should take care to offer extra utensils for the clams - just a fork and knife aren't enough to get to those mussels. I think the highlight of the meal was the shrimp sandwich - it was refreshing and anything but bland to the taste. The shrimp salad with salty bacon and tangy grilled bell peppers was SO delicious... and I love any salad that has pecans in it so extra star for the Chef's salad of the day. Winery: Ponte is the only winery (among the 5 I've been to in Temecula) that doesn't give you a punch card/stub to tally how many tastings you've had. The bartenders seem to just trust you to stop after 6 tastings. I liked that it was more of a conversation rather than a transaction at the bar. Good merlot blend. Delicious moscato. Food was very good - I had the seafood pasta and hubby ordered the halibut. The salmon cakes were very tasty apps. And most of all, the free bread warm and delish! This is more a review of the restaurant than the wine, but that said you have to make this a stop on your trip. Make a reservation as the wait can be crazy if you don't. The wines we had were really good, but we were unable to do the tasting (we showed up at 4:39 but they close at 5 and stop seating for tastings at 4:15.). Though disappointing it's understandable. Let's get back to this lunch... the starter bread is packed with rosemary and a great dipping sauce. It was great. But if you go here for lunch and don't try the prosciutto flatbread you are missing out!!! (Unless you have some religious or moral reason to not eat it... then I guess you do you...) Truly a hidden gem in the Temecula winery scene. Ponte is a beautiful winery with delicious food and drinks! Highly recommend the honeydew and mango sparkling moscato, which was perfect with our dinner and the weather. Our favorite dishes were the shrimp pizza and the seafood pasta, both of which were so fresh and flavorful. The shallot and vinaigrette dipping sauce was amazing with the bread! The service was phenomenal and the ambience was peaceful. We needed a bigger table due to the amount of food and drinks we ordered and they were so accommodating. It was definitely a more mature vibe than the other wineries and restaurants nearby. If you want a relaxing and romantic getaway, this is the place. 10/10 will be back. read more

Nice not to walk especially when you're 10 drinks in. 5/5 Wines - Zinfandel-Cabernet blend = Zinfandel adds more character & jammyess to Cabernet. Been to Ponte Winery many times before, today I decided to stop in with my friends who have never been to a winery. We were greeted by the hostess at the front door very pleasant lady. We then go to the bar to have our tasting and was served by Lauren. Lauren's customer service is bad, when we would want another glass poured she was too busy talking to the other hostess in the bar didn't acknowledge us for 20 minutes. It was hardly busy here. I have had pleasant times before but not this time and most likely not returning back. read more

I stayed at the inn with my cousin, her best friend, and her best friend's mom. We had a wonderful time. The staff was attentive and helpful (we requested extra mugs and bathrobes, and they were promptly brought up to our room), the grounds are beautiful, and the atmosphere was relaxed and soothing. Loved the fluffy bed with its mountain of pillows, and the beautiful veranda that overlooked the grounds. (I even got in a bit of morning sunbathing!) The wine tastings were lovely; I actually had two separate tastings, so the first time around I tried mostly whites, and the second time around mostly reds. My Moscato was fresh and sweet, but what I really fell for were the Late Harvest (it smells like coffee grounds!) and the Vernaccia Nera (an effervescent red) - the latter was recommended to me by Sandi, who was just darling. I reserved my last two tastings for Vernaccia Nera! We also ate at both the inn (which has a dining area below the rooms, with a great view of the vineyard and the surrounding landscape) and at the restaurant. The atmosphere at both places was idyllic, if not for the scorching temperatures that we happened to experience these past few days. (Thank goodness for those outdoor misting machines!) At the inn, we were given complimentary limoncello to help digest. All in all, it was a lovely getaway, and I hope to come back in the near future. read more

What a great spot!! Love this winery and love their food!! They offer vegan options and the server was so nice about it. When I requested if they have a vegan menu, he said no but told me what options they had. I originally was going to order the veggie burger but he informed me there was egg in the patty so I went with the spaghetti squash mushroom Bolognese and wow it was amazing!! There were so many flavors and every bite was just as good. It was a large portion of pasta and I ate every single bite with no shame. He even brought out vegan bread for us to enjoy and that just made the service even better. AND to top it off, our server surprised us with dessert for our 10 year anniversary. We had fruit sorbet with strawberries and blueberries and it was delicious! The ambiance of Ponte is truly amazing. Their service is top notch and so happy we chose them as our dining option. My husband and I finished up our hot air ballon ride, ate some breakfast, and headed over to our first winery - PONTE Winery! Plentiful parking and when we stepped into the tasting room, there was already a bar full of patrons. We had to inch our way to the bar counter and asked for a sample tasting of their Moscato wine. I thought I would just sample 1 wine and buy a bottle; but after my husband and I chatted about it -- we ended up getting a wine tasting to share! The wine tasting at Ponte comes with 6 wine tastings and we got the following: Torrontes 2012, jasmine, lime zest Vermentino 2012, melon, pear Moscato 2012, sparkling, apricot - this was our favorite! Doppietta 2010, black raspberry, mint Malbec 2009, blueberry, black pepper - this was most expensive! Isabel 2011, sweet peach, apricot - refreshing, almost tasted like the Moscato but without the sparkling effect I think we drank too fast, because I turned beet red really fast. We also took our wine glasses to browse the knick knacks for sale in the tasting room. They also have some nice outdoor scenery / the grounds were well maintained...we took some photos. I saw that folks were eating outdoors as they had a restaurant, but it seemed SO HOT! We left feeling buzzed and without any wine bottle in hand, but bought a bottle at our next winery! :) 3.5 stars for our experience, the modern decor and the service! read more

We went to Temecula for the day for wine-tasting with two friends, starting at Ponte Winery. We were starvin' marvins when we arrived, so stopped into Ponte, which was adjacent to the hotel where we were staying (South Coast Winery and Resort). AMBIENCE: We sat outside under a large trellis area that had misters misting perfectly. We did not want flat hair, yet wanted very much to be cooled in the 90 degree temperature, and the misters accomplished this while leaving us lovely. The grounds are beautiful and we walked around taking pictures of each other after in all of the lush settings they have created around the dining area. WINE: We ordered a flight of wine each and boy were we elated when they arrived. Each of us received about a 3 oz pour of each wine, so a total of 9 oz or more, EACH. To me, they looked like full glasses (when you pour a glass properly). Honestly, I was so hungry, I thought, "I'm going to be lit by the end of lunch," so shared out some of my wine toward the end and still enjoyed plenty. FOOD: We ordered a salad, a parmesan pasta, and a fresh fish. (No more details available. See previous paragraph). All were prepared perfectly and we swore we'd be licking plates if everyone would just turn their heads for a teeny moment. SERVICE: While our server DID NOT tell us anything about our wines, which we typically enjoy very much, especially when we are on a tasting tour, as opposed to just lunch, he was prompt and effective. The waiters are professionally trained. Just please add a little song and dance about the wines so we can pretend we are in Napa for a moment. PRICE: Given that it is, in my opinion, one of the top two wineries in Temecula, the price is just right, especially considering the heavy flight pours. Usually, you end up having to buy a bottle of wine to share by the time the food comes, but not the case at Ponte. That was lunch. Three wineries later....hmmm, little fuzzy, but here goes... Happy Hour: We came back to Ponte and went down to The Cellar Lounge which lacks windows BECAUSE IT'S A CELLAR (actually heard someone complain about the lack of windows) and danced with my beau for two hours to a live guitar player. He was able to play every decade of song and we couldn't get off the floor. AND, it was a Wednesday, so they are one of the only wineries offering anything past 6 p.m., let alone an awesome, live guitarist. We had an appetizer and delicious martinis. HAPPY hours indeed. At 7, we went to the main dining room for our evening meal (different than the daytime spot). It was very elegant outside and the service was perfect. We enjoyed four entrees and a bottle of wine in our now party of four. We had the filet, a penne pasta, a fresh fish, and another fresh salad. I didn't care for the penne's preparation, but everything else was perfect and by this time I was just ridiculously happy to be on the planet, so penne and I worked it out. PLEASE DO NOT GO TO THIS WINERY. THEY DO NOT VALUE THEIR BROWN AND BLACK MEMBERS/CUSTOMERS. I was a member at Ponte Winery until recently. I came Ponte Winery with my family and an employee made a racially insensitive remarks towards me and my family. I spoke with the Ponte Winery Manager Jayna and explained how my family and I now feel uncomfortable going to the tasting room given the unequal treatment we experienced. Jayna's response was cold and callous. She didn't acknowledge our complaint, didn't apologize for our experience and didn't ask what could be done to make us feel comfortable! Instead Jayna wrote that the employee who was racially insensitive towards us was "beside himself that he could be deemed a racist." Apparently Jayna is more concerned about the employee thinking he is racist then the fact that a black family experienced discrimination on their property. I sent Jayna an email in response to her callous email about the employee feeling like a racist in which she choose not to respond. I then posted a yelp review highlighting Jayna's insensitive response. Ponte Winery told Yelp the review was for another business and asked for it to be removed. Jayna works for Ponte Winery and this review is for Ponte Winery. Jayna's insensitive attitude towards my family's experience and comfort level is hurtful. We deserve to have our complaints heard and addressed. We deserve to be in an environment where we are safe from racial judgment. Jayna's cold hearted response to our desire to feel comfortable at the Ponte Winery only added to the feelings of not being valued or welcome at Ponte Winery. My husband and I had a fabulous time at Ponte! We received a gift card for our wedding and decided to celebrate our 1 year anniversary at Ponte. The hotel is beautiful. We loved that we could walk right over to the tasting room. You get complimentary tasting coupons if you stay at the hotel which is a mega plus! Tastings are typically $25 on the weekends. We had dinner at the restaurant on the patio, and spent hours by the pool. Of course I needed a pina colada! This was such a relaxing and romantic trip. As San Diego locals, this really was an amazing staycation. We would definitely return! read more

A mountain backdrop with green vineyards all around makes Temecula an attractive place. I was visiting the lavender fields and Temecula berry company for the last day of the season then stopped off for some wine with a view. Ponte offers an elevated experience with their property a buzz with weddings and parties. It is a lively and happening place to be to say the least. It took some time to get a glass of water but once I did then it was not left empty. I enjoyed my red zinfandel and fresh bread just melts in your mouth and the sauce was a better match. My meal was the fresh burrata salad with the addition of shrimp, the salad was divine but I wish the shrimp were more well done. read more

We wanted to try a wine tasting for this region and this was the one! Cost $20 for 6 tastings which you pick; we tried both white and red. I lean towards the red and they had several that were yummy! Their wine club will send you total of 10bottles for around $28 each if you want to join. I enjoyed talking to our server who told us about the winery (not very old either the 1980's or 2003 which was on a wooden cutting board for sale)?!? And the history of Angry Wife wines, named for one of the makers wives that when they divorced he created special blends they still will not tell the grapes they use..lol. This area REALLY reminds me of Tuscany, Italian and this is an Italian Winery. read more

We stayed next door which was awesome, however this place looks just sooooo glam! The food, drinks, recomendations, and amount of people speak to how worth it is to stop by Pointe if youre in the area. Pros- friendly and helpful staff, excellent food and the french press decaf was sooooo delicious, the view!, prices comparable to everything else but better quality! My girlfriend and I had heard great things about this winery but sad to say it was a great disappointment!! Kim was extremely unfriendly and gave us barely a splash during our tasting. She was more interested in interacting with "members" and barely gave a second look. We had to wait long periods in between our tasting and she never gave us any info on the wines we chose to try. Very pretentious atmosphere and lacked any warmth. Wouldn't recommend coming here again. Go to Wiens instead, much friendlier and great customer service!! read more

Ponte is my favorite winery in Temecula. The ambiance is like no other in the area and the grounds are so gorgeously maintained. You feel like you are in Tuscany! They have fabulous wines (my personal favorites are sweet wines, including the White Bevarino, Late Harvest, and the Moscato!). My husband and I are wine club members and enjoy coming every month or so for wine tastings and lunch at their fabulous outdoor restaurant. It's so relaxing and the food is always very good and unique. We also had our rehearsal dinner in 'The Reserve Room' in 2016 and it was a night I will never forget. The wait staff was so attentive and kind and the venue was so beautiful. The coordinator was so on top of everything and ensured our rehearsal dinner was perfect. Beautiful winery, lovely huge grounds, big outdoor patio area, and very impressive charcuterie boards!! We came here for lunch and ordered some food & wine tastings. The charcuterie boards were probably the best we had on our whole Temecula trip so would definitely recommend. We also ordered the brussel sprouts but I would maybe pass on those (it was only the fried crispy leaves of the brussels and they were a little too salty for our taste). Outstanding service. My boyfriend accidentally spilled a glass of his wine tasting, and they immediately replaced it no problem. All the servers were super attentive and friendly. This was one of the most scenic wineries we went to. The patio is so cute, love that they have those things that spray mist too to keep you cool on a hot day. I would highly recommend walking around the whole property after you dine in, there are so many pretty paths that lead to different tasting rooms and vineyard areas. Terrible service. We are wine club members and will be cancelling. We spoke to the manager Lynn at the restaurant, who quoted a 1.5hr wait for lunch. at 2hr we asked for an update, and she would not give us one. When pushed she still was silent, and her assistant then spoke up and said it would be at least 3hr. Both the lack of transparency and the rudeness of communication, and lack of management, were extremely offputting. Update: at 630, 5.5hours after being placed on the lunch list, we were called and told they would be unable to seat us for 'lunch' ... ?!?!???!!!!! Don't even bother. read more
