WORST PLACE TO GET YOUR NAILS DONE !! 100% do not recommend they are over priced and charged 90$ for my nails and did not tell me the price before hand. The lady kept leaving and took over 2 hours on my nails and it did not come out how I showed her I wanted it. The shape was not right and the glitter part of my nail was sticking out my nail and she didn't care to fix it. She also picked the color out for me which was not the color I wanted at all but she just put it on my nail and did not ask. I 100% do not recommend anyone coming here unless they want a half assed job done for an over priced amount. Many people have told me bad reviews on this place and now I can understand why. read more

I went there with my friends. They nickel and dime you for every little thing. They don't tell you if something is an extra charge. The owner is rude and is not concerned about upsetting her customers. She was so rude to us. My niece asked to have 1 finger painted a different color and was charged extra! ( they did not tell us that was extra) the owners response was "all prices are on the board. It's up to the clients to read it". They charged extra to take off gel polish off of my toes when there was very little polish left. For a new business owner she is rude and rather have a client walk away unhappy and give an attitude rather than be kind and try to explain. The owner got very defensive and rolled her eyes. Had a Spa Pedicure with regular polish and it was very enjoyable. I was able to communicate with all the employees and everyone was friendly. I loved the scrub and massage. It was nice to get cuticles cut without blood or pain. Definitely a great place for a pedicure! read more

I came to Polished instead of my usual nail salon because the salon I regular doesnt have enough of variety of gel nail colors but otherwise provide a nice manicure. I wish I would of stuck with my regular nail salon. I had a 5pm appointment didnt get started till 5:20...it was the fastest and most careless manicure I've ever recieved. I felt as if I was an bother/hastle to them rather than a paying customer. My manicure start to finish including removing old gel polish took 25 mins. I still have cuticles that need to be cleaned up, nail polish isnt smooth there are parts of my nail where it looks like a glob of polish just landed....it was just pure careless application....and they were more expensive than my usual salon. Looks like I'll be going back to my usual place... read more

Then that tip was included in the total price then in their electronic machine they typed in another tip that I didn't allow for nor did I sign for it. Let me start off by saying if a man is rating a nail place 1 star because he even knows it's a bad nail salon then you know something is REALLY wrong here. If you live in Marina then I suggest driving to Seaside area or even Monterey if need be. It appears that since the population is a low 20,000 that there is only 2 nail salons in all of Marina. They are setup like any other nail place clean with newish message chairs, freshly painted walls, nice floor and lots of light. For the interior this place scores high, about 9 out of 10. Here are my issues and maybe you won't care nearly as much as me. I grew up in the SF bay area and seem to have developed a certain set of standards and expectations. My first gripe is they bring the tools out in a Ziploc plastic snack baggy...they reuse their tools?? That's a scary thought. Maybe this is just me here but I have been to about 8 other places and they all bring out the same set of brand new tools in a sealed bag and open them right in front of you. When I left I didn't see anyone changing the plastic lining of the bowl my feet were in either but I truly can't say weather or not they did. The remote control to the chair had nail polish all over it. I'm sorry if you care about cleanliness you guys have chemicals right there to clean that. Ok so the pedicure itself the lady asks me do you want them filed or clipped? This is the first time anyone has asked me that. When I bring my car in to get worked on, the mechanic normally doesn't come up to me and say do you want me to use a crescent wrench or an impact gun? You use whatever gets the job done correct and fast. My girlfriend informed me that it was nice of her to ask and that she gets asked that all the time when her dog's nails get trimmed at the vet....two issues here so if I had said file she would have spent hours there? And also I'm to understand that now my nails are like that of a dogs? Sorry I'm upset all around by that. In my experience in the past anyone who clips them it's 2 clips maybe 3 per nail this lady averaged 10 and pulled the hanging piece off with her hand....um that's a new technique. She got the job done on a sub par ok I got it done level not a wow that was amazing level. Lastly my major issue here is the price. In Monterey I have gotten pedicures as low as $15 before as I am a man. No polish or color or gel or anything though I know the normal going rate is $25. The cost of a basic pedicure here is $28 but it doesn't stop there apparently somehow they threw in a massage for me and my girlfriend that we both missed?? They did something extra?? It seemed to me they barely made the average service requirements but, alas, much to my bewilderment, the bill went up to $33 each. I asked many times confirming the price. It's upsetting they ask something so small as to if I want my nails clipped or filled but they wouldn't ask me if I wanted the massage added? Shady business ethics. Simply put I will never be coming back here. If this is your only choice you will honestly be happier doing it yourself at home I know I would have. read more

A friend turned me on to this place a couple years ago and I had a great experience and have gone back multiple times. Always appreciated the friendly staff, fresh air and massage chairs. Today was super disappointing however. I went in and was ushered to an inner chair next to the only other customer in the salon. I noticed a strong chemical smell which keeps me out of other nail salons and I mentioned it to the woman preparing for my pedicure. She had already filled the bath but asked if I wanted to move closer to the entrance. When I said yes she showed that she was clearly annoyed and directed me to chair #1. Settling in I turned on the massage chair but it was broken. I tried several times. She tried. Clearly broken with frayed cord near remote and she said- you should have stayed in the first chair. I can't imagine she didn't know it was broken. SO the rest of the pedicure I spent with two hard balls stuck in my back due to broken massage chair. I came in to be pampered and left irritated with a pain in my back. I understand that we all have off days and I think she may have been cold at chair number one. The foot massage was great but the attitude kind of ruined my experience and I may not return. read more

I was going to giving to it 1 star but the location is located in a newer shopping area. However, my service was not that great. Let me see where do I start first. First, the manicurists seemed not experienced with the shape I requested. I went in there for a gel refill, change of color and a pointy shape nails. The end result was awfully shaped nails. Furthermore, she didn't clean them up or seal them from the back. Water was getting inside a nail. So I called and requested to speak to the manager but never got a call back. The manicurists charged me extra for apparently changing the shape to pointy nails. I haven't been back to this place due to inexperienced manicurists. So there you go! read more

I came to this nail salon with high expectations. The place itself is nice and you would expect high quality work to be done. I spent almost a hour and a half getting a gel fill and a pedicure done. Two days after my appointment all the gel on my nails started to chip off. I went back to get them fixed. Only to have the nail technician paint over the nail with gel again and never applied a top coat. So here I am a day later with chipped nail polished. Keep in mind I spent 70 dollars in total. I have visited this salon before and loved how my nails looked. i recently went in for a fill and the service was horrible. The nail tech was not giving me what i wanted. The nails were different lengths. None of my nails looked the same. I had talked to the manager and explained that i was not happy with the service i was provided and asked for my money back. she refused and was overall not helpful. Not my usual nail salon but a last minute choice...I got a careless nail artist,Susan, who seemed like she was in rush to get me over with. Susan did not make eye contact with me during her service and not even the time when I handed my credit card. She gave off a rude impression of herself. She insisted on setting me on the UV light for too long and in result of that I burnt the top of my knuckle. My nails are messy and still have nail polish stains. A lousy job. I don't know how the other nail artists are like but this was my experience with Susan. I won't go back. read more

I am so disappointed with my appointment at polished today. My husband and I decided to start our weekend off with pedicures. We scheduled for 12 o'clock. We got there on time but we're seated 20 min later. Anyways. They started my pedicure and didn't start my husbands until like 10 min later. She finally started on him but kept getting interrupted by her previous client. 15 min later she finally came back and I was about done. we told them we wanted to cancel his appt because the point of him coming was for us to get pedicures TOGETHER. They gave us attitude when I didn't wanna pay $30 for her to cut his toe nail. The manager finally agreed and said it's fine and didn't charge us. Anyways. She was so busy paying attention to everyone else in the shop that she failed to realize she had only let hot water run. I got that from this place. It's bright and pretty and has the appearance of a high end salon...but without the ridiculous prices. Love coming to Polished! Got my eyelash's done a few weeks ago and they're holding up great! Came in today, as a walk in, around noon. They were super busy! They asked if I could come back in an hour. I didn't mind- I had errands anyways! They did a great job and I felt bad how busy they were. I never write negative reviews but after being over charged by 50$ the last time I was here, I told myself I would be aware of what I am paying for this time. Again, disappointed with not only the price but also with the service. I asked for a pedicure, was charged 33$. I usually get the exact same thing done for half the price. But besides that, I sat waiting for someone to do my manicure for 30 minuets. When I asked, they told me to "go sit there" and that I would be helped soon. Well I walked in to this salon today and took a seat at the front for someone to help me. Everyone looked up at me when I walked in but no acknowledgement, and no where for me to write my name down on a wait list. So I waited for about 5-10 minutes, a woman who worked there walked right past me but didn't asked why I was there or what I needed, then another older women walked in and was waiting and right away she was acknowledged and helped. My jaw dropped.. everyone had seen me sitting there waiting and to be ignored like that was so rude, so I stood up and walked out. I typically leave good reviews or update when someone fixes a bad experience. This was so bad I have to comment. I had dip nails from another salon. I wanted it removed but my day was full. Went here because they were close. I only wanted the polish removed ($4 last time I had it done elsewhere). The woman up front told me I had to pay for full service. She seems to go all the talking. So I said I would take a manicure. So they removed the polish, filed my nails and put 1 coat of a protein polish. The lady also told me that I needed the protein polish (damaged nails) and that it was $45 on amazon but you can't get it. I started looking it up, but decided to trust her word. I am just that way. When I went to pay, $30 for the manicure. Think it said $13 on the wall. When I got home I looked up the protein polish. It is $35.....for a 2-pack! And it is a available. Just know when you go in there that they are going to overcharge you and lie to you. Too bad because the service seemed good. I understand why there was no line, though, and I will never go back. read more

Spendy!! My normal place was too busy and I needed my nails done in a hurry for an event so I went here for a full set with gel paint. No manicure, just nails... $51! Ouch! The girl who did my nails, Yen, was very sweet and did a good job but at the end she let me know she was leaving the area. The interior is clean and the girls seem nice but this place is way too expensive for my liking. Prices are posted, but for Full Set it said $35. So I guess they just nickle and dime. He got the tech Susan and she just seemed very annoyed and rushed and there wasn't really any reason to be rushed. She didn't do a good job at the manicure for my husband. I had Susan as well. The atmosphere is clean, pretty, and relaxed. Since there were only 3 girls working they gave me a time to come back. So I went to Target to wait the 40 minutes which was better than sitting and waiting. I got a gel manicure and pedicure. They were gentle and the massage on my hands and legs/feet were long and great. The hot towel to wipe off the lotion was a nice touch too. The massage chair was nice also. The color selection of nail polish was good and they did a nice job trimming and painting my nails. The entire time they spoke English and were very personable. No fear of them talking bad about me in another language! It was a little pricey, but it was worth it to not feel rushed. It was the last day for the 10% off grand opening discount. In total it cost me $56 with the 10% off and without tip. They had a list of prices posted inside and are open 7 days a week. read more

It's obvious that they are passionate about what they do, everyone is so knowledgeable and detail orientated.
