Ever since it opened, I've been wanting to try Sandrino, but the timing never quite worked out…read more... until this past weekend! Not sure if I caught them on a bad day, if quality has declined, or whether the reviews are misleading, but my experience was disappointing. Wanting to give a Caledonia Street restaurant some business, I forewent the lines at Joinery and sauntered over to make my choice - Sandrino, Arawan, or Sartaj. Having tried the latter two, Sandrino it was! Cue anticipation. Ordering what apparently is a "favorite", I sat down to enjoy the aptly named Sausalito pizza and a salad. While the insalata mista was fine, the pizza was a letdown. Featuring a crunchy yet bland crust, and very poorly distributed and undercooked toppings, the first slice had its toppings slide right off. Not a great start. Biting into the slice, my internal smile turned to a grimace as I rapidly realized this is the quality of pizza one can get anywhere in the country. The rest of my bites confirmed this unfortunate reality. Sandrino is simply not even in the same league as the great pizzas of Marin (PizzaHacker, Oliver's, Fratm, Picco, et al.) or even Fieldwork. Oh well, I'm glad I finally gave Sandrino a shot.

The customer service is always on point, and the pizza quality is next level -- honestly, it feels more like a local pizzeria than a big franchise. They even remember how me and my wife like our pizza, and they nail it every time. That kind of consistency and pride really stands out. I've been eating Domino's since I was a kid, but I've never experienced a crew like the one in Mill Valley. They didn't give me any credit and I still want a refund and I don't appreciate their food poisoning and they really need to be reported to FDA and whoever inspects restaurants

Almost all of us enjoyed their beer and a lot of us shared menu items so that we could try more items. My Aunt, Grandma, and I shared the Korean fried chicken sandwich, the pesto pizza, and one of the mixed green salads. We all agreed that the chicken sandwich was our favorite! This restaurant/brewery is also massive on the inside. There are different rooms that you can rent, they have shuffleboard and other games to play, and TVs throughout so you can watch sports if you please. Overall, this was a pretty great first time here and I'm looking forward to returning.

My hubby and daughter had never had (or heard of) hush puppies before, but loved them. (Oh- and we loved the honey butter and pepper jam that came on the side!). We then shared a margherita pizza and flat iron steak. We finished with the strawberry streusal cake. We will definitely be back.

The outdoor area is so fun for sitting, getting a beer here is always great. The fish plate and poke's are my go to, I always crave both and it's a great place where you can have a healthy but super satisfying dinner. Service is super fast and always kind. When I was vegetarian I'd get their fried avocado burrito and adored it. Great place for a beer. It's all amazing. Truly.

From our view of the kitchen, it was pretty chaotic in there so looking back I'm not surprised. I also loved the potatoes from the Bistecca Di Manzo, it was perfectly crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. One thing to note, they do offer bread, but it's not complimentary. Instead of supporting her staff during a busy time, she was speaking to them in a harsh and dismissive way, which created an uncomfortable atmosphere for both employees and guests. It's never a good sign when staff look stressed and unsupported. On top of that, when I asked for a wine refill, her response felt rushed and came with unnecessary attitude. I understand that restaurants get busy, but how you handle pressure is what defines good management--and this wasn't it. The food and setting were fine, but the service experience, particularly from management, really took away from the visit. I hope this is addressed because it impacts both the staff environment and customer experience.

They offer a solid meal, but in the grand scheme of things, there are better healthy bowl joints to eat at that offer more unique options for a fairer price.
