Picked up a veggie pizza a few days ago... at $30 it was more than I expected for a small pizza, but the size was misleading since it's a stuffed pizza and has a lot more depth to it than a standard flat pizza. We loved the cheesiness and taste, and will be back for more. One suggestion... rather than giving us 3 partially filled containers of grated parmesan, how about combining to one container. And maybe don't use plastic? read more

I'm unsure how long this business has been open but there's potential here.... We ordered 2 squared pizzas for $55 and spicy wings that were $20. In my opinion these prices are steep for pizza and wings. The wait time was at least 30 minutes, but we weren't informed of the wait time while ordering. The pizzas were piping hot when we received them, and the toppings on the meat pizza were delicious. Our only complaint is the pizza dough was still dough y and the wings a bit rubbery. Both the pizzas and wings could have cooked 10 minutes longer for our preferences. Not sure if I'll visit again but if I do I'll make a few special requests and hopefully the outcome will be different. read more

The place itself is great, like the location and ambiance (the free video games are a fantastic throwback to the pizza places we grew up with in Marin like Pinky's). Ordered a pickup and it was about ready at the time I asked for which was great. Counter staff person was very nice. For the pie: Really tasty. Pricey, but a lot of 'heft' so all in all reasonable considering the ingredients and coverage. Nice touch on the huge cubes of ham on the meat pie, and definitely a lot of toppings. Why the 3-star: This is a 4-star review until we get to the salad and wings. The wings are good, crispy, but $20 for 10 is steep. A sad pile of rusty romaine, three cucumber slices, a few leaves of spinach and a few black olives should not be $16. That's...kind of crazy. We'll be back and will stick to the pies, I understand a lot of costs have gone up, especially for small business, but...that salad, ouch. Love this place ! Went back and got the 2 custom pizza deal. Did a combination and a Hawaiian with jalapeño. I ordered through their online portal and did a pickup, upon pick up the pizza was ready at the time estimated and the staff was very helpful. Their setup is kinda neat you can see the person making the pizza in the back and working the oven. Both pizza's were really good, if your someone who likes sauce I would suggest getting sauce on both bottom and top. Its a life changer :) read more

For anyone like me, who is not familiar with Detroit-style, it is not Chicago-style. Yes it's made in a deep pan, but their homemade dough turns into a lighter, focaccia-like crust. It's airy and chewy, but also crisp. I stopped in quickly recently and met owner, Joe, who is excited to be serving/feeding the community. I didn't have time to order a full squared pie so ordered a square slice to go - love that they offer slices. My pepperoni slice was delectable and satisfied my savory cravings. That was my first time coming here. I love pizza so I wanted to try somewhere new. As you walk in, you placed your order with the cashier. Also note there's a QC code that you could scan to join their loyalty program and save five dollars. I chose a pick your own pizza with more toppings as your limit, it was $30 (you also have the option of how you like your sauces none, on the bottom on top or both.) It does take some time for the pizza to be cooked because it is Detroit style. But since the location is in a strip mall, there's plenty of other places to visit while you wait for your pizza to be done. I got my pizza, we decided to eat outside because inside the store there's only one large table and one arcade game table top. There is some seating areas outside. If you plan on eating the pizza with others, you might want to ask for a plate, napkins and get a knife and fork, this pizza is hard to hold and eat like a traditional pizza it's very hot and also kind of greasy. I was really impressed with the pizza here and will definitely be coming back! Usually square slices I have had are on the smaller side, but this was not the case here. The slices were all loaded up and one pizza is definitely enough for two people. Each one has lots of toppings and the veggies were all super fresh! The staff was very friendly and brought out our pizzas to our table outside. There isn't much space inside but it was decorated nicely and they have multiple menus to help you decide what to get. It is so different from New York pizza, but so good and so filling. The pizzas come in 9" squares and one was enough for my two daughters and I. We ordered three pizzas and had leftovers for days, plus some for the freezer. The cheese crust was something of a revelation. The sauce was a little too spicy for my daughters (their heat tolerance is basically zero), but they liked the pizza so much, they scraped some of the sauce off and kept going, occasionally downing milk to get to the next bites. Been looking for good takeout/delivery pizza since we moved to the area a little over a year ago from SF and Squared Pizza delivers. My wife got the Chicken Parm special and I went with a basic pepperoni to start. Both were at the very least on par if not better than our favorite option in the city. The Parmesan crust was an especially nice touch and they don't skimp on cheese/toppings while the pizza maintains its crisp. Last night, I ordered a Squared Pizza with a meat combo. I expected a deep dish pizza that would be cheesy but apparently, that is not what Squared Pizza is about. It is a very thick dough with meat on top and I could detect very little, if any cheese. It's a great location and the staff was pleasant but it's not for me. Also, I called to order and was told that they could not take an order over the phone. p.s. I went online and was educated about the difference between Chicago and Detroit style pizza. Squared Pizza is "Detroit style" (Focaccia with toppings) whereas I was looking for the more thin butter crust with lots of cheese and toppings, viz., Chicago Deep Dish. "Chicago and Detroit-style pizzas are both deep-dish varieties, but they differ significantly in crust, toppings, and sauce application. Chicago pizza features a deep, round, buttery crust, and the toppings (including a thick layer of tomato sauce) are placed on top of the cheese. I recently heard about Squared Pizza opening up at Bon Air Shopping Center, and wanted to give it a try after hearing only good reviews! My co-workers and I went for lunch, and as soon as we walked in, the space was vibrant and we were immediately greeted by staff. The menu posted inside the restaurant was easy to read, and I was able to personalize my pizza to my own liking. The owner, Joe, provided great customer service. We waited about 15 minutes for the pizza to cook, but it was definitely well worth the wait. I ended up getting a personalized pizza, but I did see ones being sold by the slice. If you're pressed for time, call in your order ahead of time, or grab one of their ready to go slices! Limited seating inside, but plenty of seating outside provided by the shopping center. First - thank you for being a place that is open after 9 pm on Fridays and Saturdays. Makes SP an easy go to after seeing a movie at 7 pm! Weird that the rest of Bon Air is so closed but good for business! Second - your staff is friendly and your kitchen, counter and dine in area is bright and clean. I loved watching our pizzas going into the oven and the video games while you wait (even tho I suck at them) are fun to play. Third - watching staff box the pizzas, I realized every slice gets 2 crunchy crusty edges because of the truly square pan. You don't get that with a rectangular pan. Fourth - what you really want to know, yes, you don't have to drive over the bridge anymore to get a solid Detroit style pizza, on par with several of our favorites in SF. My spouse says he likes the crust better in SF but the pepperoni and the pie were excellent. I ordered a pie with sausage (love that they are sausage rounds and not crumbled) and mushrooms - added hot honey at home and am looking forward to leftovers second baked tonight. Yum! I love everything about this place- the pizza is delicious! The staff is lovely. The location is convenient. I didn't think I'd like deep dish. I thought it would be heavy, dense. I was wrong! The thick crust is so yummy, light and crispy. The toppings are generous and the options are plentiful. One 9" pie is enough for 2 to 4 people, depending on your appetite. I err on the side of more, because if we can't eat it all it's great leftover! I love that it's a straight forward menu- delicious pizza with a choice of toppings.
