This place is family oriented and the owners are kind wonderful people. We came in with our boys who were excited for pizza. We started with the kibe, a meaty, cheesy deep fried appetizer with a dipping sauce that made it perfect! Then a cheese pizza for the littles, they devoured it. We had a meat lovers which was very tasty and full of toppings. The linguine with spicy sausage was to die for and the bread served with it was buttery, cheesy and just right for the sauce. After all that they still wanted dessert, one of each cookie, snickerdoodle, m&m and a chocolate chocolate chip, then a red velvet and the creme de la creme the coconut bread was so so yummy. We don't live in the area, but this place will make us want to come back. They gave my grandson a tour of the kitchen and the owners were very sweet, you feel like family. Thank you for a wonderful afternoon!!!

Delicious food with delightful service by Rosie and Luciano, the Brazilian owners. We love coming here for pizza (this time, for the Luciano's Special: chicken, pesto, heart of palm, corn, zucchini, and onions). We also enjoyed the Italian sausage sandwich, and perfectly cooked kibbeh with Boom Boom sauce. The little honey cake ("made with love") was a nice end-of-meal treat. We sat outside with our Morkie Poo, and enjoyed shade for my husband, and sun for me. Highly recommend for a fun lunch date!

The "slice" - which is actually two slices.

I have a similar reaction to La Ginestra. I've come to La Ginestra multiple times, always in advance of a nearby show, for a cocktail or a glass of wine. Usually there's some food ordered to accompany the drinks. Most recently, meatballs and a Margarita pizza were shared between two of us, with neither of us making a single remark about the food either during or after consuming it. It was as good as it needed to be, no more-no less. A 3-star review, every avid yelper will tell you, is the most difficult to pen. Indeed, that is because it generally is a shoulder-shrug. I'm certain I'll come back to La Ginestra for drinks and might actually be the one recommending it. I'll probably also have something small to eat as an accompaniment but only because I'm already here drinking. I do observe that they do a solid restaurant business (I've only ever sat in the room that shares space with the bar) which says something, given the plethora of Italian restaurants in Marin. Based though on the food I've sampled? If I were actually choosing a restaurant to dine at - as opposed to a restaurant to drink at - I've not had anything here that would cause me to choose La Ginestra above even any of the other restaurants near to it.

Coming into Piazza D'Angelo was one of those spur-of-the-moment decisions, where we were hungry and it happened to be close to where we parked at Lytton Square. We didn't check reviews or anything - we just felt like Italian food sounded better than the other options that were within immediate walking distance. We liked it! We were seated right away. The atmosphere was nice and upscale, our server seemed genuinely happy to help us, and the food came out really tasty. I'm no chef or anything, but I kind of feel like Italian food can be easy to screw up sometimes. You know, the pasta might be too tough, or the sauce is too sour, things are underseasoned, whatever. Didn't have to worry about that here. Everything tasted like someone paid careful attention to it. Smooth sauces, well-balanced flavors, tender textures, thoughtful plating. I had the fettuccine bolognase and finished off with a dessert of sorbet. My wife had...some other tasty pasta dish (I forgot the name, but I'll include a photo of it) and the tiramisu. Oh, and we had a side of sauteed broccolini. Delicious. I'd definitely come back.

Piatti is one of those places that's easy to forget about, but it absolutely deserves to be on your regular rotation. The Spinach & Ricotta Tortellini with lemon cream, sage, citrus gremolata, and pecorino was incredible. It was rich without being too heavy, perfectly balanced, and honestly something I'm still craving days later. We also shared the chopped salad, and the portion size was generous--perfect for sharing--and just as delicious. The cocktails were equally impressive and paired perfectly with the meal. One of my favorite parts is the outdoor porch seating. It's such a beautiful, relaxing place to enjoy dinner, especially on a nice evening. If you have kids, this is a great family-friendly option. They have a kids' menu, and we noticed several families dining there, which made it feel comfortable and welcoming without taking away from the ambiance. It could've easily been a 4-star review, but a few small details fell a bit short. We tried three dishes: the grilled portobello salad, the homemade squid ink seafood fettuccine, and the pistachio-crusted sea bass. Everything had great flavor, though the portobello portion was a bit smaller than expected, and the homemade fettuccine didn't quite have that al dente texture. That said, the sea bass was definitely the star of the night--absolutely delicious! My only other piece of feedback is that our two-person table was pretty wobbly, which made cutting into our food a little tricky and unpleasant.
