    Ginestra pizza
    Martha N.

After a long day of doing the touristy things in SF, I was craving a bougie pizza (according to my kids). We were strolling around the area and walked into the restaurant and decided to order To-Go because we wanted to enjoy the beautiful night outside. I asked the nice lady at the cashier for recommendations for pizza and she suggested the Ginestra. Then I asked what dish I should get that they are most known for. She told me the ravioli is popular and luckily, they had enough for one more order that evening. Done. We ordered and were told to come back in 20 mins. Came back 20 mins later and waited another 10 mins for them to pack it. We left the restaurant and ate the pizza and raviolis in the open seating area a block down. We started with the ravioli. We took our first bite and everyone's eyes widen and we started doing the foodie happy dance (you know the one you do a little shimmy with your shoulders and shake your head side to side). It was so good! The ravioli was tender and had a generous amount of filling. The cream and tomato sauce complimented the ravioli well. The pizza also received a happy dance upon first bite. The crust was crispy and chewy and the toppings were portioned on the pizza well. Our foodie hearts were happy. Next time I'm in the area, definitely stopping again. Highly recommend.

Coming into Piazza D'Angelo was one of those spur-of-the-moment decisions, where we were hungry and it happened to be close to where we parked at Lytton Square. We didn't check reviews or anything - we just felt like Italian food sounded better than the other options that were within immediate walking distance. We liked it! We were seated right away. The atmosphere was nice and upscale, our server seemed genuinely happy to help us, and the food came out really tasty. I'm no chef or anything, but I kind of feel like Italian food can be easy to screw up sometimes. You know, the pasta might be too tough, or the sauce is too sour, things are underseasoned, whatever. Didn't have to worry about that here. Everything tasted like someone paid careful attention to it. Smooth sauces, well-balanced flavors, tender textures, thoughtful plating. I had the fettuccine bolognase and finished off with a dessert of sorbet. My wife had...some other tasty pasta dish (I forgot the name, but I'll include a photo of it) and the tiramisu. Oh, and we had a side of sauteed broccolini. Delicious. I'd definitely come back.

For my main, I had the Tortelloni Della Casa, which was light, saucy, and wonderfully creamy. I also loved the potatoes from the Bistecca Di Manzo, it was perfectly crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. One thing to note, they do offer bread, but it's not complimentary. They'll ask if you'd like it, so just be aware there's an extra charge. Nice that they ask first, but worth knowing before you say yes! A wonderful spot for a special occasion. I highly recommend!

Piatti is one of those places that's easy to forget about, but it absolutely deserves to be on your regular rotation. The Spinach & Ricotta Tortellini with lemon cream, sage, citrus gremolata, and pecorino was incredible. It was rich without being too heavy, perfectly balanced, and honestly something I'm still craving days later. We also shared the chopped salad, and the portion size was generous--perfect for sharing--and just as delicious. The cocktails were equally impressive and paired perfectly with the meal. One of my favorite parts is the outdoor porch seating. It's such a beautiful, relaxing place to enjoy dinner, especially on a nice evening. If you have kids, this is a great family-friendly option. They have a kids' menu, and we noticed several families dining there, which made it feel comfortable and welcoming without taking away from the ambiance. Great food, delicious drinks, generous portions, and a wonderful atmosphere--it's everything you want in a neighborhood Italian restaurant. I highly recommend Piatti, and I'll definitely be making an effort not to forget about it again! Our waiter could have been better. She wasn't very friendly, but the support staff was 100.

We wanted to order pizza, but we were told we had to go to a different side of the building. Then we were offered a completely different menu, which made the experience even more confusing. Our waiter was rude and didn't seem to know much about the menu or the dishes. The prices were extremely high, and for a party of five, our bill came to over $400--almost $500. To make matters worse, the food did not justify the price. The salmon was undercooked, the portions were incredibly small, and the overall quality was disappointing. We actually had to go somewhere else to eat afterward because we were still hungry. Overall, this was a terrible dining experience. We will never come back, and I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. Hopefully, none of us gets sick after eating there.

The location is awsome, right on the water in Tiburon, and the vibe is cozy without feeling cramped. Seating is a little tight, but honestly it kinda adds to the charm. The Caesar salad was nothing special, no flavor, and we had to ask for extra dressing. The calamari appetizer didn't look appealing and lacked a fresh, vibrant color. Nothing was included with my $44 fish dish, so I had to order a side of roasted potatoes for extra $8, which were not fresh at all. When I asked our waiter, he said they make them daily, which likely means they were made anytime in the morning. Overall, it was not worth the $198 we spent on a tasteless dinner.
