Popped in for a quick small group work dinner. Was able to get a last minute table. Service was quick and friendly. The food was good! Loved the salad and risotto special. The seafood in it was cooked well. Good texture. Not too overcooked. Good flavor and seasoning. Would def come back if I were in the area!

Yeah...I wish I had better things to say about this place. I had a realtor, who was hosting an open house for a $3 million listing, recommend this place to me. He is from the Mill Valley area. I took his word for it... I wanted to give my clients a quality Mill Valley dining experience. We ordered the following. 1. Shishito Peppers - the peppers were on the limp side with minimal flavor. We didn't finish this dish. 2. Margherita Pizza - the crust was lacking. I didn't have that, carb organic happy, satisfied eating experience when I finished a bite of the pizza. 3.Gnocchi - this was the best dish of the night for us. The sauce was on point and the consistency of the gnocchi was perfect. 4. Vitella Al Marsala - This dish was solid as well. We definitely finish this dish. The sauce was on the good side. The restaurant is beautiful. The vibe is energetic. And it was packed for dinner on a Saturday night. There's not much to add. However, compared to SF Italian food, this place was on the lacking side for flavor. The cocktails were solid but I found the red wine offers to be a tad substandard for an Italian place. For me, there is no need to return.

I have always come here for dinner and well a few times in the daytime when the kids were little. I recently met a friend here twice for lunch and they have a great Lunch menu happening during the week and also a different one on the weekend. Starter, main and dessert for such a bargain in such a great location, great food and not too busy & perfect for people watching. Everywhere feels so busy and intense. This vibe is chill and it's perfect for you and your friends & family that are seeking that calm space. Really good food, great service and spacious seating with downtown street views. Come back to lunch at D'Angelos! I haven't come for dinner in a while. I will have to check it out. Just the great classic Italian standards and then some!

This cute little gem of a restaurant had the best service! We were a large group of 7 and our busy waiter kept us laughing and helped us with ordering our food. We ordered a variety of things like the prosciutto pizza and branzino which was a big hit. The tortelloni was warm and filling but missed the mark on flavor.

Another fantastic dinner at Piazza D'Angelo last night! After our lovely Caesar Salad starters, my husband and I enjoyed our choice of entrees! I had their sumptuous "Grilled Park Chop," and my husband had their awesome "Halibut!" We always have great meals at Piazza D'Angelo! We have been patronizing this establishment for many, many years, and we continue to enjoy their amazing food! Certainly, their consistent excellent service makes each dining experience extra special! Bravissimo Piazza D'Angelo!

We couldn't decide between two pizzas, so our server, Christian, suggested the Salsiccia. Loved the thin and crispy crust and simple but tasty toppings (goat cheese, tomatoes, spicy sausage, mozzarella). My husband usually likes more meat on his pizza, but he was satisfied. They added a 4% living wage fee, so with tip, we paid close to $30 for a medium sized pizza. We chose a table outside and enjoyed the fresh air and Sunday vibes. The inside is gorgeous and huge. Almost too fancy, borderline pretentious. (Maybe just me feeling grubby, lol). Service was friendly and kept our water glasses full.

This place is super convenient. It's next to parking and you could easily walk to it. You can't miss this big white building. I love all the windows it has. As you walk in it feels inviting. It's very nice inside. We were seated right away and I requested a table near the window. It wasn't very busy yet, so we had our choice of seats. My friend has been here once before and told me to get the smoke salmon pizza, so I did. We also ordered the avocado toast. In my head I'm thinking, yikes, tons of carbs. But why not? Our view onto the main street was awesome. I love people watching and all the activity going on. It was a beautiful day too. The avocado toast came out first. It was really good. I must warn you that the tomatoes might be a bit too tangy for some as the whole meal had a drizzle of balsamic vinegar. I enjoyed all the flavors together. And then the pizza came out. Thank goodness it was a thin crust because it did not overpower the ingredients. As expected, the smoked salmon was a bit on the salty side, but it was very good. We were stuffed and had no room for dessert. Our waiter was great. He checked on us often. Was pleasant to speak with and answered our questions about venturing in the area. When you walk back to the bathroom, be sure to look up. While walking back there you realize how big this place really is. It's decorated very well. I would definitely return to explore the rest of the menu. And I may even try one of their drinks as they have a full bar.

Awesome spot! I can't say enough good things. The customer service was excellent, the food was exceptional! Will definitely be coming back here!

I have a similar reaction to La Ginestra. I've come to La Ginestra multiple times, always in advance of a nearby show, for a cocktail or a glass of wine. Usually there's some food ordered to accompany the drinks. Most recently, meatballs and a Margarita pizza were shared between two of us, with neither of us making a single remark about the food either during or after consuming it. It was as good as it needed to be, no more-no less. A 3-star review, every avid yelper will tell you, is the most difficult to pen. Indeed, that is because it generally is a shoulder-shrug. I'm certain I'll come back to La Ginestra for drinks and might actually be the one recommending it. I'll probably also have something small to eat as an accompaniment but only because I'm already here drinking. I do observe that they do a solid restaurant business (I've only ever sat in the room that shares space with the bar) which says something, given the plethora of Italian restaurants in Marin. Based though on the food I've sampled? If I were actually choosing a restaurant to dine at - as opposed to a restaurant to drink at - I've not had anything here that would cause me to choose La Ginestra above even any of the other restaurants near to it.

It has an interesting entrance layout where you have to walk all the way past the bar just to get to the host podium to check in. Once we were seated, we had a great server who was incredibly patient while we decided on our meals. They easily accommodated adjustments to my wife's order when she asked to swap out a creamy sauce for a marinara. We started with the arugula salad, which was delicious and loaded with roasted beets, gorgonzola, glazed walnuts, and a sharp balsamic vinaigrette. For our mains, we went with the Capellini del Diavolo and the Fettuccine Viareggio. Both dishes were absolutely amazing and hit the spot. The restaurant filled up incredibly fast for a Thursday night. If you are catching a show nearby, I highly recommend making a reservation ahead of time.

Penne for Your Thoughts…read more Cal-Italian restaurant in the quaint town of Larkspur that's celebrating its twentieth anniversary this year. Picco blends the best of California with locally sourced and fresh produce with classic and modern takes on Italian dining. They are also Michelin recognized, as they've been Bib Gourmand winners ('21-23) in the past, and are currently "Recommended." The Good: * Reservations via OpenTable * Free street and City-owned lots available but there are time limitations, so check the signage. * They also run a pizzeria (Pizzeria Picco) literally right next door if you'd rather have a pie than pasta. * Outdoor dog-friendly seating * Waitstaff was fantastic and friendly. * Also has a bar if you just want to come in for a drink or three. * Local brews on tap, as well as a full oeuvre of alcoholic beverages. * They're known for their changing seasonal risotto, and after one bite, it was easy to see why! It was simply fantastic, as the rice was cooked perfectly and the fresh spring flavors in ours shone. * Carissa loved her King Salmon and veggies, as the fish was cooked perfectly. I ordered a daily special with house-made pappardelle noodles and smoked beef short ribs, and while it looked like a hot mess, it was fantastic. The noodles were thick and held up well to the assertive smoke and flavor of the beef--just a perfect dish in my opinion.. The Meh: * The Polenta-Crusted Artichoke Hearts appetizer was just OK. I liked the crunch and how they tried to present them as chicken wings, but they ate a little dry and the coating needed more seasoning. Fortunately, their concomitant aioli was able to save the day. The Ugly: * Not the biggest restaurant, and with the brick walls, it can get raucous in there fairly easily, especially if a large post-wedding party shows up to the bar to get sauced. Conclusion: Fantastic spot for a date night or any other occasion with great ambiance, service, and, most importantly, food. Highly recommended.

We had Crostini with a roasted tomato spread, and some olives, it was very underwhelming. The olives had pits in them; they were not a spread. The roasted tomatoes in olive oil were flavorless. I thought the olives would be like a tapenade to spread on the bread. We both had pear salads, which sounded wonderful, but I thought the pears would be thinly sliced perhaps crisp Asian pears, but, they were cooked with a sweet sauce and soft, and then serve served with very sweet red grapes and a sweet pomegranate dressing and sweet candied pecans, even though it was on a bed of Frisse, the salad was too sweet. It was served with a couple little tiny pieces of Gorgonzola cheese that was so soft that I couldn't divide it up to eat it with the rest of the salad, that would've been a better spread for the bread! I had grilled mixed seafood misto that had been fried very lightly.. The swordfish was overcooked and dry and flavorless.. The shrimp and scallops were cooked fine. The salmon was a tiny little piece with a lot of fat streaks in it. The wedges of Yukon gold potatoes were roasted, but were drenched with olive oil. I could only eat the scallops and shrimp. The carrots were so al dente when my husband went to cut them they slid off his plate, I had to nibble on them by hand by the green tips. For dessert, my husband ordered spumoni which was sliced ice cream and very thin slices. Kind of like a bombe. The flavor was really great, but there really wasn't enough to share. I was very disappointed with the food quality and for the price of the wine-- it was marginal. It may have been better it I was served the wine that I ordered. All of this for $200 before tip. Not worth the price. The music was loud, it was set for the staff, I think, not older patrons and families--the ambience just wasn't nice or calm or celebratory for mothers. No special flower was handed out, not a dessert, not a glass of wine, not anything special for Mom. Oh yes, my husband's "special" fillet of sole was dry and was served on the skin. Not good. I was just so disappointed, it was supposed to have been the highlight of my day since my son lives far away, it wasn't.
