She was courteous, incredibly friendly, and took the time to have a genuine conversation with me, which made my experience even more enjoyable. While Cafe Del Soul does make satisfying and flavorful food, the price hurts the appeal. The dressings are delicious but otherwise the ingredients could be easily acquired from a market for a fraction of the cost. The greens, proteins and vegetables are raw and don't justify $20 for a salad. While some of the prices seem reasonable on the menu, once you add tofu or more substantive fixings, it looks pretty steep. Therefore, it's a good place to refuel after a hike or to stop by if you're in the area but not worth a trip given that you could recreate these dishes at home. They offer a solid meal, but in the grand scheme of things, there are better healthy bowl joints to eat at that offer more unique options for a fairer price. read more

I came to Cafe del Soul for a lunch pit stop in the middle of a long bike ride. It was the perfect stop: outdoor seating with a light but filling lunch, and not too far off the bike path. I ordered online even though I was right outside since I didn't have a bike lock. My food was ready in about 10 minutes. I got the quinoa quesadilla - and wow, it was massive! I could barely eat 3/4 of it. I was impressed with how flavorful the quinoa itself was. The quinoa was cooked very well - it didn't have any of the bitter taste from not rinsing it thoroughly. The staff was really nice. I didn't want to waste the last piece, but had no way to take the box on my ride, so they gave me some parchment paper to wrap the last piece in. Perfect to slip into my bike jersey pocket! This place will probably be my go to lunch spot whenever I pass through on a bike ride! read more

Maybe overpriced for a rice bowl, but man it does hit the spot when you're looking for a healthy lunch! I'd recommend getting double protein since they only give you a tiny scoop of chicken. We ordered and sat at a table but since it was our first time we were not made aware that if you order and iced tea that you just grab it from the cooler next to the register! Then we never were served our hot tea even after asking for it. The food wasn't good enough come those service mistakes but to be clear, we found our food to be good not great. And the food turned out to be pretty pricey given the regular sized portion. -Quinoa Wrap: Quinoa, spinach, jack cheese, feta cheese, black beans and avocado tossed in chipotle dressing, served in a spinach tortilla. I ordered this and it was delicious. It tasted fresh and clean. I could almost feel it nourishing my body with every bite. I'd get this again. The staff also offered us a hot sauce, and I'm so glad we said yes because their hot sauce was good - smoky, spicy, and slightly sweet. It was perfect with their food. - Chipotle Sunrise: Brown rice, cheddar cheese, tomato, avocado and onion tossed in chipotle dressing, served in a spinach tortilla. Cashier was friendly. Lovely sunny space in a strip mall to at ins conveniently located near the road turn offs to popular hiking spots like Muir Woods and Tennessee Valley Trail. It's great that they have vegan options. 3*s as it feels a bit pricey for what it is. They have good presentation on the salads -- at least~$18 for a salad with protein -- while it was fresh and had nice presentation, just felt like this may be even higher than Mendocino farm prices? And Mendo's ingredients are a bit more varied and unique. For locational convenience, I would pop in when need some energy/food on way to/from a hike. There are lots of other amazing options within a 15min drive. read more

We stopped in randomly this weekend for a bite to eat after a hike in the Marin Headlands. I ordered a bowl and added chicken. Overall, it was pretty good, and I appreciated the ordering system (though, it automatically left an open tab and closed it before I finished, without giving me the opportunity to leave a tip). I thought the price was a bit outrageous, as my bowl ended up being $19 with the addition of a tiny amount of chicken. This is a really cute spot in Mill Valley. The workers were all very nice. There are such a large amount of vegetarian and gluten free options which is great for me and partner because I am a vegetarian and he has celiac. I got the Sunrise Wrap and it was really tasty. Regrettably have to downgrade my earlier review. As of 2024, the "remix" and "curry delicious" salads were overpriced *and* the portions were small. Not especially flavorful to boot. I love when you spontaneously decide to try a spot and it turns out to be absolutely delicious. My friend and I were trying to visit another restaurant in the area but didn't want to deal with the wait so decided to stop by Cafe Del Soul for a quick bite. I didn't have many expectations but was initially impressed by their menu offerings -- all the food seemed really clean and healthy. I decided to go with the Chipotle Sunrise Wrap with Chicken after the staff member recommend it to me, and let me tell you -- this wrap was one of the best I've had. It was just really well-balanced with all the components, and even for being a healthier dish, it was quite flavorful. I really liked how the cheese was infused into the rice, and can't say no to a good spinach tortilla. They have so many items that I wanted to try so hoping I'll be able to stop by next time I'm in the area. This is the second time I've been through this restaurant. The first time I only got a chai tea. And I like the idea that they have organic food and plant-based choices. But oh Em Gee they are pricey! For $48 I should not still be hungry. It was my son and I and he ordered kale nachos with chicken I ordered the kale salad with chicken. We both got a drink that was about 16 ounces to 12 ounces. We got the food to go and so when we got to our destination my son started eating his nachos and he commented how dry the kale was. He said " I wish there was some dressing or something on this because it's hard to swallow. " Luckily my salad had some type of vinaigrette dressing on the kale. So I put some of my kale into his salad so he could stir it around, making it easier to swallow. I was just really surprised at how scant the servings were. I expected more quinoa in my salad. I was surprised how minimal the chicken was for the additional approximately $3.00 plus. If I come here again I will order the quinoa wrap so that I actually get full. Although I don't eat wheat maybe they have a wheat free option. Next time I may just go over to Good Earth market and get the wild mushroom pizza again, which is gluten-free. I think it was about $5 to 7 dollars filling. I was really disappointed with our food from Cafe Del Soul today. It's definitely overpriced for the portions given. read more

We came across this stop by accident after our hike trip to Alamere Falls! We got extreme motion sickness with the winding roads so my fiancé decided to stop at a random plaza for fresh air. The food is delicious, but incredibly small portions for the cost. I bought a Chilpoltle Sunrise burrito, added chicken, and almonds, and it came out to 19.00 plus tip: $23.00. You would expect a $23.00 burrito to be the size of your head, NOPE, its was tiny. I left the place needing to go get more food. It was appalling. Rice, quinoa, chicken, spinach, almonds, and some sauce in a tortilla SHOULD NOT COST 23.00. At first they didn't even bring me the correct burrito. I asked the "waiter" and use the term very lightly, and he assured me it was correct. Of course when I went to the counter to make sure, it was not. Thank goodness, because it was 1/3rd smaller, basically a child size burrito. If this was a high end restaurant with waiters dressed in suits, and a tie, maybe, but this place is a loud, overly lit cafeteria, playing music you hear on a construction job-site. Utterly, and totally disappointed. I will never go hear again. Business that charge this much for a chicken burrito deserve to go out of business. We took a left short of the light accidently and ended up in this parking lot, we were hungry, it was rush hour and we knew we'd starve to death before we ever got out of the parking lot again (taking a left out of it) so we stopped at this little cafe. We are not from here so we knew nothing about Cafe del Soul other than it looked good. It was good. I must admit this was my first vegan restaurant and I was worried that I'd find nothing to like. I was wrong. I asked the man at the counter what he would recommend and he said the Chipotle wrap was very popular, so that's what I had. I really enjoyed it, it filled me up and left me feeling good. My friend ordered a salad and I was jealous because as my wrap was good her salad looked amazing.
