Probably the only breakfast/brunch place in Mill Valley, haha! We stopped by here after Muir Woods because it was the only thing we found nearby before heading back home. The service was attentive and friendly. There is a lot of selections. I ordered the bulgogi benedict. The bulgogi was too sweet. Mom ordered the tofu scramble which she thought came in an actual scramble, but it came out like a tofu stir fry. Her hubby ordered a scramble that was generous with potatoes and toast. The potatoes were seasoned well and made well done per request. The ube latte was way too sweet. Couldn't even tell there was coffee in there. It was a short stop. Not cheap but quality ingredients, you can spend $30 or more on breakfast, especially if you try the Gojuchang bacon like I did. My primary dish was the loco moco, a hearty 1/2 lb burger patty was the main attraction, I found it overcooked and under seasoned. The edible flowers and pickled veggies were a nice touch however. But for me the larger patty unbalanced the normal proportions of loco moco, YMMV. The bacon was tasty but not as flavorful as Millionaire's bacon like you find in other places. I'm not aware of nearby Korean dishes (other than San Korean Cafe in San Quentin) so imagine my surprise that this restaurant was serving a "Hot Stone Pot"! I missed the taste of a good bibimbap so I went for it. Lo and behold, there it was! The flavorful sensation I have been missing! They provide a hot stone pot (how nice of them to warn you that it is very hot haha) full of rice with various vegetables and a sunny-side-up egg on top, as well as one of three choices of protein (I got chicken mango). It was sooo good! It was not dried out! You also had to mix it yourself so it gives you the much-welcomed idea that you are preparing/serving it yourself. They also routinely and kindly ask to refill your water and coffee so that was nice. This will be one of my preferred breakfast spots! Bon appetit! read more

It was alright!!! I got the chicken and caffle, and I feel like the waffle to chicken ratio was a bit off, I had three big pieces of chicken and one waffle! The fruit was super good, very refreshing. Not against the restaurant because they can't control it, but if you sit facing the window around 1 pm you will get a strong reflection of the sun in your face from the parking meters! They let me move my chair over to get out of the sun, they were very accommodating! The place itself was pretty stuffy, they don't have ac, which is normal. The Millionaire's Bacon has left the building, and boy do I miss it! All things change, and Kitchen Sunnyside recently underwent an ownership change, when local brunch phemon Steve Choi sold the business. While the menu is mostly the same, with many favorites on the menu, it seems they are still finding their footing. In the recent past, their super friendly front of house, their high standards and very consistent food, along with epic MIllionaire's Bacon, made this place extra special. While still early days, after a couple of visits, we could feel the difference. Service was less polished and pleasant. The place was missing its differentiator: their wonderful staff. The new Gochujang Carmel bacon has a great name, but was a step down. The expresso drinks were not as good. Even the fruit side looked the same, but tasted quite different. The normally sweet pink grapefruit was sour and the grapes, blueberries and cut strawberries had passed their prime. We hope they'll work the kinks out: this was one of our local breakfast favorites. read more

All were sub par; nothing took us out of the park. Except the bill. The bulgogi taco was thick with food, with bulgogi and a hash brown, very unique. It tasted good. The classic benny was just okay; I did have higher hopes for taste for this place. The deep fried French toast tasted like a donut with custard cream on top. If you like donuts, it's great! We preferred the typical French toast. Service of the place was great. We came before the huge rush hour of brunch/lunch, so I felt we got a lot of attention, which is always nice. read more

The most incredible brunch I've had in my 24 years of life. I found this place by chance when looking for new brunch places to try in the area. This restaurant also had stellar ratings compared to every other breakfast/brunch place & as it should, because this was an 11/10! It's located in beautiful Mill Valley, a nice quaint area. My partner and I were there at around 11am on a Saturday. Surprisingly enough, no line! (Though after we were seated, that was when the line began to grow). We were seated fairly quickly. I ordered an ube latte while we looked at the menu. It was rich and actually tasted of ube! There are a lot of other places that will add ube extract and call it a day, but you can tell this place knew how to make a good ube latte. For our main dishes, I ordered the French toast and added walnuts & bananas on top as well as bacon & eggs to complete the meal. My partner ordered the Hot Stone Pot and wow was the portion HUGE! It definitely was enough to share between 2-3 people. Overall, from the service, ambiance, and food-- this place knocked it out of the park! 12/10. read more

We ordered an entrée that we never got, and no one informed us it was sold out. When the bill came, it was still on there, and we had to ask for it to be removed--super frustrating. Cozy yet airy cafe for breakfast and lunch with all the standard offerings as well as a few Korean/Asian-inspired brekkie entrees. Excellent outgoing enthusiastic friendly service that makes you feel at home even if this is your first time here. Big wooden tables lead off the comfy feel inside all around. My usuals here are any of the Egg Benedicts, but I've also had the French Toast which was totally yummy with subtle notes of orange citrus in the batter. For a healthy choice, I've also enjoyed the Primavera Scramble which includes sundried tomatoes, beil peppers, red onion, spinach and green onion with your fried egg whites. The standard sides with your breakfast entrees include either your choice of potatoes and toast. I did not care for the hash browns as they are prepared McDonald's tiny patty style, but their Yukon Potatoes are on point. Their toasted slice of Ciabatta bread was perfect in every way, soft and pillowy on the inside, and the perfect amount of crunch on the outside. Next time, I need to try out their club sandwiches or maybe their Loco Moco.. Good folks, good eats! read more

I really love the food at Kitchen Sunnyside. I go there every time I am in the area- for lunch or breakfast. This last visit I had the Croissant Sandwich which contains a fried egg, ham, american cheese, and romaine. I also had a side of hash browns. The sandwich came with a side of salad with Italian dressing. The food is always beautifully presented, in my opinion, even if it is to go. The sandwich was delicious. It was easily ordered online, ready when they said it would be ready and the service was great. Very nice staff. Overall I always have a great experience here. read more

Denny's quality at Four Seasons prices. What a disappointment. The $-7 glass of "fresh squeezed" orange juice (see photo) was pretty obviously pre-packaged, not-from-concentrate (I buy fresh all the time--I know the difference) and had already started to turn. The hash browns came in rectangular blocks (see photo) with no other home-style ingredietnts so were suspicious for frozen pre-fabs. My poached eggs were good, tho Hollandaise sauce was so-so and maybe also from a can. My husband had mild stomach pains after his omelet. Two stars are for good service and OK ambiance (quiet, clean, airy). From now on, we'll stick with Le Marais around the block--much better food at lower prices. read more

We were so hungry when we left Muir Woods on a Sunday morning so we were hunting around for someplace to eat a late breakfast/lunch. And came across this spot. It was delicious! I had a yummy florentine benedict with fruit and an iced tea although they do have cocktails. Everything was fast (but not too fast) and yummy. Plus the logo on their tshirts were supercute. Service was great. Restrooms are shared with the rest of the building and you have to get a key, not big. And parking is on the street which can be a struggle but we found a spot a few blocks away. read more

I brought a friend here for lunch Sunday, and immediately picked the Avacado Salad with chicken. He ordered the burger. The menu said that the salad came with cilantro-lime dressing, but I'm one of those people for whom cilantro tastes like soap (up to 14% of the population have this genetic trait). I asked the waiter what other dressing they served. "Just cilantro-lime," he said. "Wait a minute," I replied. "You have all these salads on your menu but you only have one dressing?" "Yes." "Okay, can I just have oil and vinegar and I'll make my own?" "We don't have that." "Okay, then oil and lemon juice." "We don't have that." "You have Eggs Benedict on your menu, and a key ingredient is hollandaise sauce, which requires lemon juice. And there's not a kitchen on the planet that doesn't have oil." "We don't have that." Ordinary I would ask for the manager at this point, but instead I just ordered the salad without dressing, and then ran two blocks to Mill Valley Market, bought salad dressing, ran back, and plopped myself back down just as my salad was being served. The salad itself was good, and my friend enjoyed his burger, though they brought him a bowl of cilantro-lime dressing for his french fries(?). The server was nice enough, but clearly needs a bit more training. That is, of course, unless they really didn't have any other dressing, and really didn't have oil, vinegar, or lemon juice in their kitchen, in which case the cook and/or the owner can use a bit more training. All in all, it's not a bad place... but be prepared to bring your own salad dressing. read more

Diner-style breakfast dishes with a few Asian twists. The must-try is obviously the Millionaires Bacon, which elevates the whole experience. While the other dishes I tried were nice, nothing else was destination-worthy like the bacon. Millionaires Bacon: $7 for a slice of bacon (sold 2 for $14 as a side) does seem a bit pricey at first blush. However, this is no ordinary bacon. It's thick, kinda like pork belly, and lacquered with an excellent sweet and spicy sauce. Also, it's longer than regular bacon. Rich and delicious! Loco Moco: I'm a big fan of gravy and they delivered! Lots of that umami-filled brown gravy, so you never have to skimp and experience dry rice. Plus they added in diced veggies to the gravy so it feels a tad healthier and has some extra flavoring. The burger is HUGE! And it's lightly breaded then deep fried, which seemed a little odd to me. But it still tastes very burger-y while being nice and firm. The sunny side up egg and rice were obligatory, kinda just accessories to all that gravy. Sunnyside Hash: I was a bit disappointed to see that the hash brown was like 3 freezer section hash browns. Older photos of this dish showed one huge rectangle of shredded potato that seemed crisped to order. Though, to be fair, photos like that are several years old so it's not a new change. But still, the cheesy veggie mishmash on top was nice. Perfect way to jazz up some fried potatoes. read more

Quaint little place with a deliciously diverse menu. There's influences from Hawaiian and Korean cuisine which really tickle the pallette. I will say that the Loco Moco I had prior to today was lacking in flavor/seasoning, but I'm glad I came back to give this place another try. The hot stone pot was so damn good that I don't even remember the Loco Moco. My wife had the Oscar Benedict and gave it a 5/5. Also try their house potatoes which we had last time and are amazing.
