My wife and I met another couple at Boo Koo. We had tickets to theatre nearby (a good walk after dining). It was a casual lunch, right for the occasion. Our friends recommended it. They've been there often, it seems. I'd be pleased to join them there again. We had a pho and a noodle dish. We split the shishito peppers. My wife prefers less spicy. I'm the opposite. We order calibrated for her. They did fine. My wife remarked afterward it was "Americanized." That is true. It's not necessarily bad. It isn't just Asian cuisines; it's Italian too, and I'd bet just about every other tradition. There is a distinct American version, which an historian could figure out the relationship to the original for, for any "ethnic" dish you'll encounter stateside. Service was brisk. We finished without any concern about making our show.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Stopped by to get a to go order on Mother's Day. They had plenty of open seating and the staff was very friendly.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] They have a bar top table and bar seats as well as tables. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The music was good, the vibe was nice, but the food took very long to be ready.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] They said about 15 minutes but was nearly 40, and it was for spring rolls and soup. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Giving 4 stars because the food was good, the place was a cool spot, it was just the wait (and incorrect wait time mostly) that was a 2-3 star.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Had we known, we would've left and come back and had a more positive overall experience. Worth getting the food, not sure if the wait time is always an issue as only tried once on a trip.

Overall A: comfortable, decorated, friendly, timely, tasty & fresh chicken pho and shrimp peanut salad that rivals our favorite SF Thai spot, Yummy Yummy. Recommend, and we shall return.

First time here and probably won't be our last! It wasn't packed when we went. They had small indoor seating and outdoor seating available. Service was amazing.. our server literally took down 2 apps and 4 entree orders by memory and I was impressed as the dishes came on within a reasonable time. I was surprised how fresh the dishes were. Flavorful and not bland. Chicken pho (forgot to picture) was tasty with good amount of noodles and chicken. Comes with cilantro, jalapeños, & bean sprouts. Green curry banh mi was delicious with extra stuffings on the side. My FAVORITE is the tiger prawn rolls & the mighty mint salad! It taste so FRESHHH and flavor was on point. I totally didn't want to share. It was definitely way more yummy than the chili lime wild salmon salad (which isn't bad either) Kids bento box come with cookie, veggies, choice of chicken, mandarin oranges, & choice of noodles or rice! Our server was tentative and provide good recommendations. She was awesome! Highly recommend trying this place!

Easy spot to go for a quick walk dinner. Pretty reasonably priced and servers were quick and friendly. Food was quite Americanized version of Thai food, but was solid enough! [[HIGHLIGHT]]Nice light by the window, and indoor regular and bar seating available as well as some outdoor seats.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

    One spring roll

I always try to find something positive about a review so here we go - my wife liked her dish. After that...the rest of this review will be brutally honest. The kids bento box is absolutely boring, the tiger prawn spring rolls is just that - one spring roll???? My dish made it to the table 25 minutes after everyone else's dish. The wait staff was there but we had to waive them down to accomplish the following- refills of water, presentation of the final check, following up on my pho that was very delayed and finally someone to take our initial order. If we ate there on an "off" night we practically checked off all the "what could go wrong" boxes. [[HIGHLIGHT]]On a positive note- their ambiance was nice.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] If anyone else has a different experience please let me know. Cheers - Chef John

I had Fish Hook before in San Francisco and got to try this location and the food is amazing!…read more I got the oysters, the ling cod fish plate, and black cod tacos and my favorite is definitely the ling cod plate. The ling cod is one of my favorite fish they have there and the rice and the tomatoes on the plates are delicious!!! I wish the staff here are more friendly and the food can come out a little slow, especially on the weekends. The staff mentioned that we would have to wait for 30-45minutes for the fish and chips so I didn't get it and I wish I could if I didn't have to wait that long. But overall I really enjoyed coming here for fresh fish options and a great place to come with friends!

I can't comment on the food because I never got the chance to eat it. After waiting in line,…read morereviewing the menu, and finding options that worked with a temporary diet I'm on, I placed my order. Only when it came time to pay was I told they couldn't enter my order because I didn't already have a table. Apparently you're expected to secure a seat before ordering, and there was a wait. I don't understand this policy. One of the advantages of counter-service restaurants is that you order first, then find a table while your food is being prepared. That keeps things moving. Requiring people to occupy a table before they can even place an order seems like it would make everyone's meal take longer and reduce table turnover, which seems counterintuitive and inefficient. The bigger problem is that this wasn't obvious to a first-time customer. I had no reason to think that this restaurant operated differently than virtually every other casual counter-service restaurant I've been to in my life. You only find out after you've already waited in line and are ready to pay. To make matters more confusing, my husband had eaten here before and simply ordered first and found a table afterward, just like he would anywhere else. He had never encountered this policy. If it's only enforced during busy periods, that's exactly when customers should be clearly informed before they spend time waiting in line. I'm sure Hook Fish is popular with regulars who already know how the system works. For a first-time customer, though, the experience was confusing and frustrating. I live nearby, but this was such a poor first impression that I won't be back.

Because we were such a large group, we ordered a couple of vegetable platters and pizzas to share. This also allowed us to try several of the pizzas, which helped mitigate the angst of missing out because all of the varieties sounded delicious. We started off with the vegetable platter, which featured roasted vegetables and squash served over a bed of lentils and seasoned yogurt sauce with toasted pita on the side. I love almost any roasted vegetable, and the yogurt sauce made everything taste elevated; I could have easily finished off the vegetable platter on my own, but I restrained myself to save room for the pizza. My favorite pizza had to be the Calabrian chile and ricotta pizza, which stood out with its sweet, creamy ricotta and the slow burn from the chile oil that lingered long after the last bite. The other pizzas were solid, although they were your more typical pizza combos (cheese, mushroom, meat combo). We spotted buffalo milk gelato on the dessert menu, so we ordered a round of scoops to finish off our lunch. The buffalo milk resulted in a creamier, silkier texture than regular cow's milk gelato (I think?), and it was very tasty!

Watershed can be found in the Mill Valley Lumber Yard, which also has a few cool shops, a toy store, wine tasting room, ice cream spot, and more. We made a reservation ahead of time and so glad we did because they were booked up for this special weekend. With beautiful weather, this spot was alive with large parties. Also, the World Cup was on and patrons were enjoying watching the game(s) inside too. If we were to come back, I would def sit outside with a group on a nice day. Outside there was corn hole and lotsa tables to enjoy a casual meal and vibes. Our party ordered a round of margaritas, and menu standouts included the burger, fried chicken sandwich (the paprika aioli is stellar), the kale salad (topped with chickpeas, quinoa, walnuts, and more), grilled cheeses for the kiddos, and the "Burning Love" pizza. There's a little bit of something for everyone on the menu here, and everything was so fresh, comforting, and just elevated. The meat in the burger was something to highlight, and I loved the thick cut fries. I would try a pizza on the next trip like the "Swim Club" served with Calabrian chile honey, or the "Peach Pie" because why not, it's summer! Service was okay, but it was also such a busy time of a day that everyone was just doing the best they could. All in all, highly recommend if in the area and looking for a lovely time/afternoon.

She was super accommodating and attentive without being overbearing. Once we told her what we liked, she immediately knew what to recommend and guided us through the menu perfectly. You can tell she knows her stuff. We came specifically for happy hour (we're definitely HH aficionados) and made it our mission to try everything on the menu. While the chips & dip were good, they're something you can find elsewhere, so not necessarily a standout. Everything else, though? OUTSTANDING! The hummus, whipped feta, and muhamarra were next-level--easily some of the best we've had. The CN burger sliders were also a hit--we had one each and they were so yummy that next time my husband is already planning on getting two. The drinks were on point. The espresso martinis absolutely fueled our afternoon in the best way, and we also tried the creamsicle cocktail and the shrimp Za'atar from the regular menu--both were super delicious in their own way. The ambiance was great, and the bartender was clearly on top of things, which always adds to the overall vibe. One thing worth noting: happy hour is now only offered Monday-Thursday, but Sydney was kind enough to honor it for us on Saturday since the website hadn't been updated yet. That level of service really sealed the deal for us. Overall, a fantastic experience from start to finish--great food, great drinks, and even better service. Easy five stars.
