    Pea shoots with shiitake mushrooms

I came specifically for the vegetarian/ vegan dim sum and Harmony did not disappoint. I ordered the leek & corn dumplings, grilled turnip cakes, lotus leaf rice (request veg) and pea shoots with shiitake mushrooms. While my $55 total before tip was a bit steep for a lunch for one, I was still glad I got to try the food because it's not often that I can find vegan dim sum especially the lotus leaf rice. Thanks for offering veg options Harmony!

Chinese Chicken Salad with tofu instead of chicken

While Harmony won't be on the Bib Gourmand list anytime soon, it does have the cozy broken-in charm of a neighborhood stalwart. The moody dining room and unfailingly warm service are a draw, making you feel at home whether or not you're a first-timer; it's clear many of the patrons are far from being first-timers and that familiarity is part of the appeal. My Chinese Chicken Salad (sub tofu for chicken; that option is a huge plus) arrived bland and dry, but some extra spicy mustard that is brought to every table breathed some new life into it. I'd suggest coating the romaine much more generously to make each bite count. Right now, the only satisfying bites were ones including the tofu, which was a hero flavor that couldn't quite elevate the entire dish on its own. However, I'll reiterate how appreciated it is that they do the substitution making the salad vegetarian. I wouldn't be unhappy returning, but I wouldn't venture too far out of my way to do so.

    Peking duck and spinach dumplings

Harmony Restaurant has the best dumplings and other dishes! If you haven't tried it, it's worth the visit. The service is excellent, the ambiance is lovely and the food is delicious and fresh. My faves: Peking duck dim sum, spinach dumplings, pork/shrimp dumplings with chrysanthemum tea and/or champagne.

Went here for lunch recently. Got tofu and a turnip cake. Both dishes exceeded expectation. Certainly a unique take on classic asian flavors. Winston was a wonderful and very prompt server. The place is large, spacious and certainly a place I'd take someone for a fancy dinner. If you're looking for upscale asian food in Marin, this is a spot to look at!

    Nice ambiance.

I was complaining to a friend ; who recommended that I try DJ's! I did that tonight - DJ's is a hidden gem. The staff were very friendly, and welcomed me with a cup of tea while I waited for my take out order. I didn't have to wait very long. I have just had a wonderful meal and enjoyed every mouthful. I will be definitely be returning to DJ's regularly to enjoy my favorite meal. There is also a very nice back patio where I enjoyed the tea. Well done DJ's !!! Sincerely, Robin Olive

The war won ton was just the won tons with no fillings and the broth was good, but it was not what we expected. The seafood soup was mostly broth with a little bit of fresh mushrooms and French cut green beans and finely we found a couple shrimp and a few bits of calamari. The sweet and sour pork was mushy and didn't have much flavor. The kung pao shrimp was mostly onions! The next ingredient was green peppers and garlic. There were peanuts and still more onions. We are not fans of onions, so this was not a good surprise. The rice was fine but not special. We also ordered plain steamed vegetables and shrimp, which we will try tomorrow night if we are willing to eat this again. Service 5/5 Food 2.5/5 Ambiance 4/5 lovely patio in back of the building and nice linen table clothes. Good window seating. Value/price 3/5 expensive for the quality of the food (canned, frozen veggies etc) The food brings down the experience and we won't go back.

My wife and I met another couple at Boo Koo. We had tickets to theatre nearby (a good walk after…read moredining). It was a casual lunch, right for the occasion. Our friends recommended it. They've been there often, it seems. I'd be pleased to join them there again. We had a pho and a noodle dish. We split the shishito peppers. My wife prefers less spicy. I'm the opposite. We order calibrated for her. They did fine. My wife remarked afterward it was "Americanized." That is true. It's not necessarily bad. It isn't just Asian cuisines; it's Italian too, and I'd bet just about every other tradition. There is a distinct American version, which an historian could figure out the relationship to the original for, for any "ethnic" dish you'll encounter stateside. Service was brisk. We finished without any concern about making our show.

The staff was friendly, and the restaurant has a great atmosphere. Our disappointment was solely with the food. The Pad Thai was, without question, the worst Pad Thai I've ever had. It arrived cold to lukewarm, lacked any flavor (some thought it tasted like soap?), and was honestly unappetizing. Multiple people in our group ordered it, and every single person had the same reaction after taking a few bites. Not one of us was able to make a dent in the meal. We also ordered the green curry, yellow curry, and potstickers. Unfortunately, those dishes were subpar as well and didn't make up for the experience. We did let the manager know about our concerns before leaving. I'm writing this review in the hope that the restaurant takes the feedback seriously and considers improving the recipes. This place has a lot of potential, it's in a great location and seems like it could be a great spot for both small and large groups, but the food simply doesn't live up to it.
