Very good food and friendly service. Small place with takeout cups. Sauces were tasty. Rice was remarkable.

The food is fresh and delicious, with creative offerings of organic and vegetarian options. The restaurant owner, Norman, is friendly, and always makes our family feel welcome. He is a kind human being, who cares deeply about the well-being of the community. Norman has even generously offered to donate food to the greenroom table at our charity's next benefit art/ music event. Thank you, Norman and Harmony! You make this world a better place.

I've passed Harmony countless times and always assumed it was some sort of furniture or home décor…read morestore (the West Elm adjacency is misleading), so I was genuinely surprised to learn it was a Chinese restaurant. I went in curious and optimistic -- unfortunately, the experience fell flat almost immediately. Upon entering, no one acknowledged us or greeted us at the door. For a restaurant that presents itself as modern and slightly upscale, that lack of front-of-house awareness was noticeable and set an awkward tone from the start. We ordered the vegetable cake, a dish I'm very familiar with and usually love. Texturally, it was decent -- soft inside with a lightly crisp exterior -- but the flavor missed the mark. It tasted under-seasoned yet strangely heavy, with an excess of oil that lingered on the palate. Instead of feeling clean and balanced, it felt weighed down. For context, Palate Garden Party executes this dish far better: brighter flavor, better seasoning, and far less grease -- and at a lower price point. Even with the longer drive, the difference in quality makes it worth it. Dessert was a banana sesame roll dumpling dish that sounded promising on paper. The first bite was interesting, but that novelty disappeared quickly. The dumpling skin was far too thick and overly crunchy, almost stale-textured, which overwhelmed the filling. The interior lacked cohesion and finesse, and the cinnamon flavor felt muddled rather than intentional. We didn't finish it. Across the board, the food leaned excessively greasy, to the point where it didn't feel good to eat. I left feeling heavy and uncomfortable rather than satisfied. The flavors never quite came together, the quality didn't feel refined, and there wasn't enough charm or warmth to compensate for the technical misses. Overall, this isn't a place I'd return to or recommend. There are far better options for Chinese food that offer cleaner flavors, better execution, and a more thoughtful dining experience.

I was complaining to a friend ; who recommended that I try DJ's! I did that tonight - DJ's is a hidden gem. The staff were very friendly, and welcomed me with a cup of tea while I waited for my take out order. I didn't have to wait very long. I have just had a wonderful meal and enjoyed every mouthful. I will be definitely be returning to DJ's regularly to enjoy my favorite meal. There is also a very nice back patio where I enjoyed the tea. Well done DJ's !!! Sincerely, Robin Olive

We got food to go tonight and the service was delightful. Very friendly and accessible. The food…read morewas a disappointment. We tried two different soups: a war won ton and a seafood soup. The war won ton was just the won tons with no fillings and the broth was good, but it was not what we expected. The seafood soup was mostly broth with a little bit of fresh mushrooms and French cut green beans and finely we found a couple shrimp and a few bits of calamari. The sweet and sour pork was mushy and didn't have much flavor. The kung pao shrimp was mostly onions! The next ingredient was green peppers and garlic. There were peanuts and still more onions. We are not fans of onions, so this was not a good surprise. The rice was fine but not special. We also ordered plain steamed vegetables and shrimp, which we will try tomorrow night if we are willing to eat this again. Service 5/5 Food 2.5/5 Ambiance 4/5 lovely patio in back of the building and nice linen table clothes. Good window seating. Value/price 3/5 expensive for the quality of the food (canned, frozen veggies etc) The food brings down the experience and we won't go back.

My wife and I met another couple at Boo Koo. We had tickets to theatre nearby (a good walk after…read moredining). It was a casual lunch, right for the occasion. Our friends recommended it. They've been there often, it seems. I'd be pleased to join them there again. We had a pho and a noodle dish. We split the shishito peppers. My wife prefers less spicy. I'm the opposite. We order calibrated for her. They did fine. My wife remarked afterward it was "Americanized." That is true. It's not necessarily bad. It isn't just Asian cuisines; it's Italian too, and I'd bet just about every other tradition. There is a distinct American version, which an historian could figure out the relationship to the original for, for any "ethnic" dish you'll encounter stateside. Service was brisk. We finished without any concern about making our show.

I hate to write this review, but unfortunately the food was pretty much inedible. I want to start…read moreby saying we had no issues with the service or the ambiance. The staff was friendly, and the restaurant has a great atmosphere. Our disappointment was solely with the food. The Pad Thai was, without question, the worst Pad Thai I've ever had. It arrived cold to lukewarm, lacked any flavor (some thought it tasted like soap?), and was honestly unappetizing. Multiple people in our group ordered it, and every single person had the same reaction after taking a few bites. Not one of us was able to make a dent in the meal. We also ordered the green curry, yellow curry, and potstickers. Unfortunately, those dishes were subpar as well and didn't make up for the experience. We did let the manager know about our concerns before leaving. I'm writing this review in the hope that the restaurant takes the feedback seriously and considers improving the recipes. This place has a lot of potential, it's in a great location and seems like it could be a great spot for both small and large groups, but the food simply doesn't live up to it.
