    Hawaiian BBQ Mix

Talk about a tasty meal! I ordered the Hawaiian BBQ mix, which has a little bit of everything. It was like a buffet in a box! Everything was fresh & flavorful. Compared to other places I've ate during my trip in California, it was a great value for the portion (I paid $19 yesterday for a small sandwich, tiny bag of chips, & a bottled water). The restaurant is nice inside & the cashier was super nice. Come check them out if you're nearby.

We ordered some spam musubi and a chicken katsu plate to go. Food was decent until we started noticing the katsu looked a bit off. A lot of them had this clear gelatinous piece that I don't know what it was. It wasn't chicken nor was it a part of the breading. There was barely any chicken left to eat if we took out those pieces. At least the Spam musubi was okay.

Great food, good prices, would definitely recommend! Stopped here on the way to Muir Woods. They have all the favorites you'd expect on the menu. I got the chicken combo. Good portion sizes and prices.

Things ordered: Aloha Plate with Chicken Katsu Kalbi Beef ribs Hawaii BBQ Katsu and Bbq plate Total: ~$65 A small little place with delicious eats! Service was quick and you seat yourself. We ordered four meals but it was enough for 5 people. Hefty servings. The food came out quickly and was super fresh! the chicken katsu was excellent. It was crispy and coated perfectly! The Kalbi was flavorful and tender. The chicken was good and tender as well. There was also some marinated beef on the plate that was delicious too. BUT, the Mac salad, WAS AMAZING. Probably the best mac salad i've ever had. For something so simple, they did a great job! I've had mac salad during my visit to Hawaii but it was not as good as this. The bed of cabbage underneath the meats was also yummy and perfect with the proteins. Highly recommend this spot!!!!!

Great food. I can't say how the price is, in relation to other places as I'm visiting the area but the food was great.

Great food, so tasty, so unique. And LARGE portions. Hawaiian BBQ chicken plate is a superb BARGAIN. Two meals really. Service very prompt - under 3-min. I'd eat here every day if in the area. Yes, that good.

Great bang for your buck! The location is also convenient, just off of 101 and in the same plaza as Target. Stopped here after a workout and got an order of spam musubi. Great value as it comes with 2 pieces for $5.99. The guy at the register greeted me as soon as I entered and was efficient putting in my order. I saw them making/ pressing the musubi in the back which I loved because it means they don't pre-make it and let it sit out all day. The spam musubi wasn't too salty or bland. Portions were just right for the price. Will be back to try their plates. Don't sleep on Oha Hawaiian BBQ!

I waited 30 minutes for a grilled chicken that from what the name says has no oil and they gave me one full of oil when I asked for a change they refused

The inside was clean but dated, Upon Entry I was immediately seated, The hostess was very was nice and was able to answer my questions on the menu. Ordered the dinner portion of the Chicken Katsu with rice and macaroni salad, Egg Rolls, and the Fried Gyoza. The Gyoza's came out first, These were really good as they weren't deep fried but pan fried with slightly crispy bottom with chewy top. The sauce that they give you with the Gyoza's went well along with the green onions. The Egg Roles came out next, They were good as well and freshly fried. The sweat and sour sauce went well with the rolls, wasn't too sweet but had a bit of spice as well. The Chicken Katsu plate we next, the Katsu was freshly fried which perfect as it keeps the breading from getting hard or to crunchy and the chicken juicy. The Katsu sauce went well with the chicken rice and macaroni salad as well. Overall I enjoyed my experience and will come back to try other items on the menu in the future. Since he had no dietary restrictions, I decided to grab him something close by and this place was a perfect option! I ordered at the counter from very friendly staff who brought the food out and packaged hot within minutes! Faster than most popular chain drive thrus! It's pretty much set up as a carry out, yet there are a couple tables and chairs than seem to function more for waiting than for dining in. (Read: not for date night to impress!) I ordered the chicken and beef combo for under $20 with tax -- which was like a mountain of tender and well seasoned meat with a flavorful cooked vegetable medley and macaroni salad as sides. I really appreciated that the sides were substantial, and not used as filler in exchange for less protein. Hubby loved it and he was the envy of the nurses station, as the aroma of good homestyle food is hard to ignore! And I was so very thankful able to give my husband a great tasting and satisfying meal for his recovery and at a very reasonable price! Pro tip: For moderate eaters, two people can share one order and be quite satisfied! In the case of hubby, it lasted him for two meals and I could spend more time caring for him :) Thank you Hawaiian BBQ express!

Also, nothing is served with mac salad... The prices are pretty decent for SF. Maybe that's why this place is popular. They are takeout only and have one bench outside for you to eat at if it's free. Tried the garlic shrimp, the moco loco (idk why they swap the words), and the furikake chicken. Also had a spam musubi (when I ordered online for pick up, I couldn't add egg which is usually an option according to the Toast website). The garlic shrimp was missing a flavor that Hawaii has in their garlic shrimp. The color was very red but it was not spicy. They do have an option to make it spicy though. It was bland to me compared to what I'm used to when I visit Hawaii. The moco loco gravy was good, but the beef patty tasted dry and overcooked. They did have a runny egg too but it was oddly underneath the patties, so we broke the eggs while trying to split the beef amongst 3 people. The furikake chicken is probably better if you eat it right away since it's lightly breaded. We took it home so by the time we ate it, it was soggy. The sauce it is cooked in is a little sweet and wasn't too bad. The soggy chicken ruined the texture for me though. Each dish was served with a little bit of cabbage which I liked to get a little greens in the meals. The spam musubi didn't taste like it had any sauce, and they used so much furikake underneath the spam, that it made it taste fishy. Would not recommend. I can't comment on the service much since I ordered online for pickup. The guy who handed me my food after asking my name was nice and polite though. The only reason I'd come back is to try to the shave ice. The group in front of me got 3 for their kids, and it looked tasty. I would not come back for the food, but at least the prices aren't bad for SF standards.
