Fast friendly service. We got a drip coffee, lemon scone, avocado toast, and a chicken salad wrap. Everything was good. You place the order at call up counter and they give you a buzzer. You grab a table and wait. They were fast though. The place is in a little cute mock-town kinda setup with other shops and restaurants. read more

We had some friends visiting from LA, and we met up for breakfast at Flour Craft Bakery to see them and enjoy a meal together. Our breakfast and pastries were great, and we've had good experiences here before, which is why this visit was so disappointing. I ordered an iced London Fog, which this location made for me a few months ago. This time I was told they couldn't make it iced, but no one could explain what had changed. When I asked for a cup of ice so I could make it iced myself, I was told it would cost an extra 50¢--after we'd already spent around $60. It wasn't about the 50 cents; I just wanted to feel accommodated. Most of the staff here have always been friendly, but the gentleman at the counter came across as dismissive, like a simple request was an inconvenience. I left more confused than anything. I hope this was just an off day, because the food was great, and we'd happily come back if the customer service matched the quality of the breakfast. read more

Following lunch at the Mill Valley Lumber Yard, I stopped in for a coffee at Flour Craft Bakery. Since it was already late afternoon, only a few pastries remained (mainly cinnamon rolls and pound cake). After placing my latte order, my drink was prepared in less than five minutes. The latte was smooth and creamy and delivered the caffeine boost I needed after lunch. To my surprise, I noticed that I was auto-enrolled in Flour Craft Bakery's rewards program upon paying for my coffee - now, I have rewards points to redeem on my next visit. There weren't any seats inside the cafe, so I took my coffee to-go and took a stroll around the neighborhood and nearby shops. read more

What a great find in the Mill Valley Lumber Yard. We stopped into Flour Craft Bakery for lunch and ordered three avocado toasts--two with salmon and one plain. All three were spectacular. The presentation was beautiful, the ingredients tasted incredibly fresh, and the hot sauce added just the right amount of kick. Every bite felt healthy, flavorful, and thoughtfully prepared. The outdoor seating is abundant, making it easy to relax and enjoy the atmosphere. The Lumber Yard itself has a great vibe, and Flour Craft fits right in with its casual, welcoming feel. The biggest surprise was the value. Lunch for four came to just $56, which felt more than reasonable considering the quality of the food and the location. Fresh, delicious, beautifully presented, and affordable--a combination that's getting harder to find these days. We'll definitely be back the next time we're in Mill Valley. read more

Long line. Beastly woman in line who I had to correct Oakland-style. Apparently they bake their bread then immediately wrap it in plastic which is The Worst thing you could ever do with a loaf of bread. I picked up the loaf of Sourdough Walnut, still very warm and it must have weighed about 6 pounds. Never, ever wrap hot-from-the-oven bread in plastic! The result will be a disastrous, doughy, soggy, dense mess. I'm a retired professional chef/food writer/restaurant critic. read more

Recently enjoyed a quick breakfast bite from this adorable bakery in Mill Valley Lumber Yard. They feature fresh wholesome ingredients and it's delicious! My personal favorite was the Stinson and the Orange polenta cake. Yum. Serving staff were pleasant and orders came out quickly despite the long line to order. Really love the overall vibe here. But make sure to check the menu ahead of time. If you're hoping to find a traditional breakfast combo with bacon, this may not be the place for you. I went here looking for a gluten free bakery. I really liked the many varieties of options. This is strictly about the pastries as I didn't try anything else. Bought the focaccia bread and was super excited but my boyfriend pulled out a hair from his slice. The pastries were average gluten free priced but in my opinion were amongst the worst gf pastries I have tried. The lemon pound cake was dry, sourdough chocolate chip cookie did not taste good at all so I tossed it and the chocolate pastry with the frosting too was okay. I visit a lot of gf bakeries and I've tried much better but I believe the other items on the menu could possibly be good but I only tried pastries this day. read more

I love the food and the menu here so much, and the courtyard garden is always such a vibe. One of my favorite spots in Mill Valley and someplace that I cherish as a treasured, quintessential Marin gem. However, if you order ANYTHING from this bakery that involves frosting or icing of any kind, prepare for it to get absolutely wrecked and ruined by the younger staff, and you will have to pick it apart with a knife and fork to figure out how to eat it lol. Forget plating it. It's a mess. Jeremy is one of the amazing staff working here, and he is awesome. But if you catch one of the young kids they employ, your frosting cookie or icing cake will just get demolished and smushed in their messy packaging -- and you will lose all frosting or icing nevermind plating appearance of any kind besides a giant goopy crumbly mixed up mess. Food is great. Taste is great. Vibe is a vibe. Zero pride in baked goods plating packaging or handling. read more

This is a very small nondescript bakery that you will easily pass by without noticing in this mall area. The size is small and reminds me of a liquor store. They do have a decent selection of small muffins and cakes. Originally I came to try the orange polenta cake but honestly it didn't look anything special to me. What stood out to me the most was their cacao nibs walnut coffee cake. I bought a slice and had it at home with some chai tea. It was the best coffee cake I ever had. I loved the crunchy cacao nibs on the cake. There was a swirl in the middle of the cake that had very nice milky coffee flavor. The five stars is just for this coffee cake which I plan on having more in the future whenever I'm in Mill Valley. read more

My man asked if I liked Matcha and thought it be good/decent here as they have some good pasteries at this little place. Walked in, immediately the blonde lady at the register wasn't pleasant, not with what she said but her demenaor. I opted to get the golden milk drink instead - it wasn't great - super powdery tasting - would not recommend. The rest of the staff was fine. Would not recommend for drinks or vibes. Additionally, I didn't opt in their communications, didn't enter my phone number/e-mail and got spammed via Squared (their credit vendor) on their newsletters. This place was everything I needed and more. Been struggling with a health condition that requires me to eat gluten free and as someone who really loves food, it's been difficult to eat out and generally emotionally taxing. This is a cute place with a nice menu and a beautiful patio outside. BUT. It's expensive, which would be fine if they offered the simplest of things, like a refill on the ice tea (which was absolutely tiny, see the attached pic), or ketchup to go with the fried hash browns (they don't have any, I had to get some from the watershed restaurant). Attending to these small details would make me a happy customer. Too bad! read more

If there was a lower rating, I'd have chosen it! Advice: Take your hard earned money elsewhere and avoid nasty, confrontational and toxic staff behavior! We've been supporting this small woman owned business for years and will NEVER step foot in this (or San Anselmo) establishment again!! Cashier worker Andrea was so nasty and confrontational and even had the lack of decency to be rude and nasty to my innocent by stander of a child!! I was nearly in tears over this workers verbal assault. I immediately rang the owner Heather. She didn't seem terribly bothered and thought our verbal assault from her employee would be rectified by offering us free drinks. No go! This didn't change the worker Andrea's attitude and death stares, not to mention we could hear her talking crap about us to other employees. The mouth and behavior of this employee is abominable and shouldn't be a behavior that we as supportive patrons should ever experience. Fortunately we have several gluten and dairy free options in Marin, so save yourself a verbal assault and go elsewhere. read more

My favorite avocado toast in California!! They have a lot of interesting toasts and tartines, but don't miss their classic avocado toast! It's simple but the blend of avocado toast, herb cream cheese, olive oil, chili flakes, on their protein toast is so good! I think it's also their bread that makes it special - I'm not gluten free but their bread is so spongy soft and just crunchy at the edges - it's so good!! We also got the loaded avocado toast - classic with smoked salmon and egg and I think this is the one. It's the same as classic with a perfect gooey runny egg and good quality smoked salmon. The area is super cute with lots of outdoor seats, shops, and parking! This will be my stop in any north bay adventure. read more

I've always enjoyed the food here - it's almost a miracle to find a dedicated gluten-free place that both adults and kids actually like. We've been here twice for brunch, and it was great both times. Because of how much we enjoyed it, I called them to order a birthday cake for my husband who has celiac. They have a 72 hr preorder policy, and it has to be done over the phone. I called them three times on Thursday for a Sunday pick up. Left 3 voicemails. Received no calls back. I even messaged their Instagram account hoping to get a response! Called again on Friday, and they finally answered, but said I was too late and they couldn't accommodate my order anymore! Even though I tried all avenues. Beyond disappointing since we were counting on the cake, and fellow celiac families will know that it's no easy feat to find a decent celiac-safe cake at short notice. read more

Thanks for your response. Unfortunately, the main issue is: there wasn't much food inside this wrap. I understand the costs are high, but we must consider the cost to the consumer for what you get right? Try the wrap and consider the amount of protein provided is my suggestion. read more

Flower craft is an institution. What a gift to Marin County. This one you wouldn't know the food was gluten-free, but it is and I love it. Check out any of the goodies. The chocolate croissants would sell out in an hour or two on weekends the salads to go oh my God, the bread, it's great. Lots of drinks special bagels are and waffles. Fun thing about this place is it's hard to make a decision because there's so many good options. If your gluten-free just pull up a trailer and move in this place is insane. The ambience of this place was great. It's a very cute little place in the woods basically surrounded by red woods in Mill Valley, which is already a gorgeous location. There were so many stores around the bakery and it was lovely to visit. The actual food was overrated. I got a chicken salad tartine ( basically an open face sandwich). The chicken salad had no flavor. I also got a coconut lentil soup which was OK again had no flavor. I got a London fog tea, which was good. The service was OK, but the heaters were not working and it was very full with only outdoor seating which did become a little bit inconvenient. Signs everywhere say they're closed at 4 but they were rude about the reason they closed an hour early.

This place is located in a little red village nestled between 2 roads & surrounded by redwood trees. There are shops and other eateries there. Reminds me of a Hallmark movie as it was festive, there was a fire pit, people playing corn hole, & Santa came. The food at this location was just alright. I thought it was pricey & quality didn't match the cost. I got the Warm Quinoa special & my friend got the taco salad no meat (she's a vegetarian). The food came on camping tin plates. Warm Quinoa: This had coconut milk & cooked apples sprinkled with cinnamon. It was a little watery. When I first looked at it, I thought it was oatmeal. It was alright but overpriced. My mocha w/oat milk was good though. Taco Salad: Unfortunately, my friend thought this was just ok. Would recommend getting something else. They had dessert that looked good but I didn't order any. I would go to grab a pastry or coffee and check out other businesses. read more

This spot is located in a cute little plaza with some other shops that has a chill atmosphere and is fun for people watching. We stopped by after visiting Muir Woods because I'm gluten free and always like to see if there's a gluten free bakery around when visiting a new place. This was the most crowded I've ever seen any 100% gf establishment anywhere, so I'm assuming that most of the customers don't need to eat gf and just like the food anyway. I struggled to decide what to get since there were many savory options that sounded good (a rare dilemma when eating gf) but I settled on a smoked salmon tartine (I think it was the bridge way) and my partner got the sweet waffle. I also got a chocolate chip sourdough cookie because I was curious what that would be like and I've never had the opportunity to eat gf sourdough before. Prices were very high, even for a gf cafe in the Bay Area. However the customer base looked very wealthy so I'm sure that's not a deterrent for most people. My tartine was tasty, but honestly I was disappointed by the bread. They called it focaccia but it was quite flat and just ate like a normal gf bakery toast. The cookie was delicious but I would've had no idea it was sourdough and I don't think that added anything. I would just market it as a chocolate chip sea salt cookie. The best bite was definitely the waffle. Very light and fluffy, and the strawberries were perfectly ripe and sweet. I would come back and order something different if I'm ever in the area again. Wouldn't recommend the tartine but would recommend the cookie and waffle. read more

My partner and I came across Flour Craft Bakery the last time we grabbed dinner at Watershed, and since then it has been on our (mostly mine) to-try list. Just something about cute bakeries really draws me in, haha. We decided to stop by for breakfast today and it was not bad. There's plenty of outdoor seating available, but ordering has to be done inside at the counter first. They have a wide selection of pastries, some drinks, and some more substantial breakfast/brunch items. My partner ended up getting an Orange Polenta Cake, Stinson Tartine, and a small glass of white wine. He originally wanted a nice red wine, but they ended up either running out really early, or they just didn't have the one he wanted to try in-stock (bummer). I ended up going for their seasonal scone (lemon lavender), a Golden Gate Tartine, and a London Fog w/ almond milk. Once we finished ordering, they gave us our pastries and a buzzer for the rest of our order. They have a large window to the side of their entrance for picking up orders. Really cute! Scones tend to be dry, and this wasn't different than usual. It was a little crumbly, and pretty lemon-y. It paired well with my London Fog. I like that it's not that sweet either. The Orange Polenta Cake, however, was featured as a Yelp popular item, and I can see why. The dark chocolate on top is rich, and the polenta cake is moist, soft, and a little gritty from the polenta. It was pretty good! A little sweeter than the scone, but it was a nice sweet to share. As for my main dish, the Golden Gate Tartine, it was not bad. The Golden Gate comes with roasted peppers, cashew cream, shaved vegetables, avocado, and micro greens on top of a walnut sourdough. I thought the walnut sourdough was kind of dense. I think I'd love the sourdough by itself, but it seems to overpower the rest of the ingredients, or the other ingredients just sort of lacked flavor. Shaved veggies this time included radish and cucumber, and both ingredients added a refreshing touch to the tartine. I think my partner's Stinson Tartine was much more flavorable. Kind of herb-y tasting, but was pretty good. All in all, it was an enjoyable breakfast, but next time I'd opt for just a drink and their pastries! read more

Super cute place! I admire and appreciate the fact that they strive for having the best high quality ingredients for their products. Also loved seeing all organic milks/plant based milk options. I tried the banana chocolate chip bread - I noted the taste of a corn base ? Not sure what the base was exactly but I tasted more corn than anything! The banana taste was barely there and it was a tad bit over done/hard on the outside, but I understand because it can be hard to nail down the texture in GF baked goods. I bring up the values of this place because despite the banana bread not being my favorite, I will be back to try their other products and I hope to find something that I do love at this place! read more

I'm a big fan of gluten... but I'm also a big fan of Flour Craft! I've never had a pastry I didn't like, but I'm particularly fond of the walnut coffee cake with cacao nibs and the pound cake - especially the pistachio. If you're looking for something a little more substantial (lunch or breakfast) I always go for the "fancy toasts". The chili flakes on the avocado toast add the perfect bit of bite and I started buying Old Dog Ranch nut butters for home use after trying Heather's toast.
