We wanted to hang out at a coffee place one Saturday morning with a great view, and Caffe Acri did the trick! It's a bougie coffee spot in Tiburon (one of the richest neighborhoods in the Bay Area) and the view definitely lives up to the location. They have glass windows everywhere where you can see the mountains where the 10 million dollar homes sit on or have the view of the bay. There's both indoor and outdoor seating, so you can soak it all in either way. The drinks were the highlight for me. The chai latte had a good spiciness to it and wasn't overly sweet, which I really appreciate. And the affogato? Amazing. Absolutely get the affogato. One big miss though -- they have a variety of pastries in a glass container, but I saw flies flying around inside it. That's a big no no for me and completely turned me off from wanting any. Hopefully they get that sorted, because the pastries looked tempting otherwise. Heads up: parking nearby is paid, so plan for that. Overall a lovely spot for a scenic coffee morning -- just stick to the drinks for now. read more

Cute Italian cafe near the ferry terminal. It was the perfect way to end our day trip to Tiburon as we waited for our ferry back to SF. The view from the cafe and their outdoor patio is beautiful. We ordered a peach scone, an oat milk latte, and a chamomile tea. It was nice to see that the chamomile tea came with a teapot and made about 3 1/2 cups of tea. The latte was served in a nice glass and paired really nicely with the peach scone, which also wasn't too sweet. I loved the interior seating and lighting; it's nice that they seem to have musical events going on, too. The service is friendly, albeit a little slow when it gets busy, which is to be expected. It can get busy when the cyclists come through on Friday mornings or meetups on weekends but don't let that stop you from getting in line, worth the wait. read more

I've only visited for coffee and pastries: bomboloni and pistachio cheesecake as they both looked and sounded yummy. :: Cream custard bomboloni was not...interior was dry and had texture of scrambled eggs :: Pistachio cheesecake - I'm a big fan of rich, creamy cheesecake and this didn't do it for me as it was more of a no-bake cheesecake - soft and pudding like. We were visiting from MO, my favorite part of my entire vacation was walking up to the shore of Tiburon and ordering a Mocha and a breakfast pastry. We tried the chocolate croissant, butter croissant, ham and cheese, panini, and an omelette. Every single food item, every single coffee, every interaction across all 4 days was magical. Sitting on the benches out front watching the fog roll across the city across the Bay, looking at Angel Island, watching the Ferry, and enjoying my the ambiance of the town around us every morning was absolutely amazing. A Local Hub, But Not Quite My Cup of Matcha Parking was my first little hurdle. There's no direct parking, so I ended up in the Cinema Lounge lot and paid about $8-9. I know Sausalito is used to paid parking, but in the rest of Marin it always feels slightly... offensive. Especially in the rain. And yes -- it was raining cats and dogs, which made the walk over less than charming, though not unbearable. When you search "coffee shop Tiburon," this is what comes up, so it does feel like the local hub. The place was fairly full when I arrived, which is always a promising sign. Service, however, felt distracted. The person at the register seemed far more engaged with teammates than with customers. I asked about the soup of the day and was met with a kind of aloof indifference that made me immediately regret asking. Not rude -- just uninterested. There's a difference. I ordered a matcha. It arrived in a glass with a cardboard sleeve -- which I will never understand. Why are we serving hot matcha in clear glasses? It's not chic. It's just awkward. Unfortunately, it was also very bad. I didn't drink it. My friend's latte was also disappointing, though at least it came in an actual latte cup. She did love her scone, so that's a point in their favor. I circled back to the soup of the day (zucchini). It was solid, comforting enough for a rainy afternoon, though the bread on the side was a little stale -- which felt unnecessary at a $35 total bill for two people. The pricing overall was reasonable for Marin. The space itself is slightly cold temperature-wise, but aesthetically it has that "a little worn-in" charm. Not polished. Not precious. Just... there. It's new to me, though it doesn't feel particularly new or differentiated. Would I rush back? Probably not. I wouldn't choose it as a meeting spot, especially when there are places like Amalfi Deli or Café Brulé nearby. I do appreciate that it's in that sweet Tiburon pocket -- it should be the kind of place you want to love. I'm just not sure it quite delivers the warmth or memorability that makes you return. I'm still on the hunt for a non-chain Tiburon coffee spot with a little more heart. Rustic near Point Tiburon is reliable (and local-ish), but I'm craving something with more personality. read more

Their pear sorbet is PHENOMINAL! Very true taste, not too sweet or artificial-tasting. We came at a busy time but the worker still let us to try a couple of flavors before deciding. Plenty of seating both inside and outside. I absolutely love the huge windows that let in the Tiburon sunlight and people-watching opportunities! We were thrilled to find a restaurant that could seat us right away for Saturday prime-time breakfast during a huge wine event. We were able to walk right up to the window, place our order, and grab a seat--so easy! Even better, the prices were about half of what the other nearby breakfast and brunch spots were charging. And this is, by a landslide, the best gelato I have ever had. It is a small cafe, and it is very cozy. We were able to try a few flavors and decided to get Nocciola and Pistachio Gelato. Our server said nocciola was his favorite too! The gelato was thick and so nutty. The hazelnut and pistachio really shine through, and the gelato was not too sweet. If I opened a cafe this would be it. Fresh squeezed orange juice, grapefruit juice, beet juice, smoothies, Gelato, coffee, pastries....it's everything I've ever wanted in a cafe. Their pumpkin cheesecake is almost as good as the Cheesecake factory. The fresh juices were amazing. We bought one of each and also bought their smoothies. We stopped in without having a real plan after a subpar lunch experience and NEEDING something sweet. The chocolate mousse called to meeeee and my kiddo was mesmerized by the tiramisu. He's 5 so couldn't appreciate how well done the tiramisu is compared to others. It's expertly created so it's still bouncy and not overly wet like some places. They take care to preserve each slice and this chocolate mousse is INSANELY GOOD If you like chocolate and a little crunch, you must indulge. What a cute cafe! My friend and I wanted to grab a quick dinner before watching a movie at Cinelounge Tiburon so we walked around and found Caffe Acri. We stopped by during that weird time frame where it's too late for lunch but too early for dinner so there weren't a lot of people. We were able to order at the counter immediately before finding a seat. From there, we were served directly at our table. We got a couple of coffees and they were pretty good - nothing spectacular but not bad either. For food, we split everything family style. The beef meatballs were delicious - 1 order comes with 4 meatballs and 3 pieces of bread along with lots of sauce. It was a nice meat to enjoy with our penne arrabiata. The penne arrabiata was a good healthy portion too. We also ordered the caesar salad; pretty much what you'd expect except it came with a lot of cheese. Overall, solid meal. Along with dinner foods, they also have some pastries/baked goods, wines, and gelato. The ambiance of the restaurant was nice too, though a little dark. Being one of the few coffee shops in town and at a perfect location, you could see why there were so many bicyclists here to stop over for a drink and bathroom break. After a quick perusal of bakery items, we went simple with a iced coffee, avocado toast, and a strawberry banana smoothie. I know I'm spoiled now with my avocado toasts since we make them at home all the time, so admittedly, this one was a bit disappointing for me. While the bread was really good, the avocado was the perfect amount of ripeness, and it had a sprinkle of salt and pepper, it felt like it could have used one more topping - either some microgreens, or a zhuzh of extra seasoning or maybe a dash of olive oil. My partner enjoyed the coffee, and I liked the smoothie as well. Not overly sweet, good texture, and refreshing and filling. This was a great place for a pick-me-up, with a surprise piano-bicyclist tickling away at the keys. It's nice that there is plenty of it here and it's all in shade. But unfortunately it's a cold day and there's no heater. So layer up! FLIES FLIES FLIES !!!!!! There are a disgusting amount of flies everywhere throughout the restaurant, and at least several on every table, in the food , landing on top of everybody's plates of food and clusters of them flying around in the air. I ordered an omelette and there were three flies buzzing my plate nearly at all times . I couldn't eat it . The management does nothing to mitigate the flies and just shrugs their shoulders when you point it out. The manager said "there's nothing we can do about it." This is a massive sanitation and health problem. They're absolutely is something. This restaurant can do about it, they just refuse to try. read more
