Don't assume you'll grab a place to sit, especially if you're visiting peak hours. The toast was good, but at $9 I expected something more memorable, so I'd skip that next time. I also overheard an issue at the register where a customer was told their ham croissant was no longer available because it had been given to someone else after they'd already ordered it. The staff offered to substitute something else but couldn't process a refund, and there weren't many other options. I would have been so disappointed if that were me! I came here since it was cold and wanted a warm hot chocolate. There was a line and the menu was really small so I had to wait until I got to the front to order. I ordered their seasonal item hot chocolate with marshmallow. I wanted a croissant but they were almost fully out of pastries around 12 pm. The hot chocolate was very expensive, more than $8 and came in the tiniest flimsiest cup ever. I think it was about 12 oz or less. Also it came with a singular tiny marshmallow which was laughable. Very disappointing for the price. The service was bad as well, the employees were just talking completely ignoring me as I waited to order. It also took a strangely long time for my drink to come out and they didn't ask for my name so every time a hot chocolate was called I had to guess if it was mine. Really good, smooth espresso. Order an avocado or other specialty toast or select something from a small pastry case. I've heard Frank & co. is especially known for the pistachio croissant ($7), but I was feeling slightly virtuous and decided to save some calories and get a loaf of challah (nicely fluffy) for $9, had a piece with my latte, and brought the rest home for dinner. Shortly after arriving at SFO on a trip, I decided to find somewhere convenient and new to explore on my way. Sausalito fit the bill and I'm glad I finally made it here. Franko&Co came highly recommended so I parked nearby to explore. I was ready for coffee and something to eat so I got an iced black coffee and special pistachio croissant, with pistachio crème. Prices were reasonable. The interior of the cafe had an artsy vibe to it, and they featured a Ukrainian artist for items for purchase. They have some seating inside. They also have outdoor sidewalk tables, which on a beautiful morning were perfect to watch the dogs go by. The baristas were very friendly and welcoming. read more

We visited this shop due to other positive reviews (and an addiction/passion for coffee) and had a great experience. Coffee is solid and delivered with beautiful foam artwork. We ordered avocado toast which was served on the most delicious thick slice of homemade sourdough. Paid 9$ with tip for a cold brew, coffee was super acidic I could barely drink it. I asked one barista if I could add milk from the warm basket of milks sitting on the counter, before grabbing the milk, and one barista said yes. Then, as I had the milk in my hand another barista turned around, told me I couldn't pour the milk in because it was a safety hazard, and was overall really rude rather than being polite about it. Welcome to Sausalito! The cutest little coffeeshop that's located right across the street from the ferry. The inside is relatively small (about 3 bistro tables inside and some tables outside) but is packed with personality. The inside is tiled with gorgeous zellige tiles and there's fun, eclectic artwork on the wall. I got a cappuccino with almond milk and a pistachio croissant. I appreciate that they do not charge extra for plant based milks. Service was friendly and super efficient. Both my drink and my croissant were fantastic! I visited this small coffee shop twice and really wanted to like it. The new manager was kind, though there was a bit of a language barrier. On my first visit, I tried to order a matcha, but they were out -- apparently they hadn't anticipated the holiday rush. It made sense, as the day before had been busy with a lot of foot traffic and several people sitting inside working. That said, seating is very limited, which is a drawback. Both times I went, it was completely full. Unlike places like Direhouse or Equator, where you can grab a coffee and comfortably settle in for a while, this space doesn't feel encouraging for lingering. And since many people grabbing coffee also want a place to sit and work, the lack of seating is especially noticeable. The location doesn't help either. It's inconvenient to get to -- you have to park and walk -- so it doesn't function well as a quick in-and-out coffee stop or anything close to a drive-through experience. I went back specifically to try the matcha, but unfortunately it was mediocre. A friend ordered a latte and felt the same way: not worth the parking hassle or navigation, especially without a view or any standout feature. They also offer food, and while good on them for trying to expand, I'm not sure how much of it they're realistically selling. I genuinely want them to do well. But with nearby spots like Suzette, Firehouse, and others offering both personality and a strong product, it's hard to see what would make this place a repeat destination. Right now, there isn't a compelling reason to come back. read more

Personally this place was great about 9 months ago I came with their hot winter drinks I loved and at first the service was good. Then I came back twice, realized how over priced plain blini with farmers cheese is only for two small thin ones which is insane. Their poppy seed pastry which to Slavic kids it's a staple of childhood, $4 for a very small piece of bread was sad. And their London fog wasn't that good along with their summer drinks. A very cute coffee shop in downtown Sausalito. There are a lot of coffee shops on this strip, but Franko&Co seems like the coffee shop for coffee-lovers. Their focus is on espresso drinks and they make them really well. It's a small shop on the main street so you'll likely have to park a block or two away in one of the paid parking lots or in the nearby neighborhood. But from there, walk the downtown area until you find it! It's almost easy to miss but they've got some seating out front too so you may notice people hanging out. There's a few tables inside if you want to get some breakfast too, but it seems to be mostly takeout. I didn't get to try the bakery items / the breakfasts but it looked really good when I was sneaking a peek at other people's orders. My baseline go-to at coffee shops is usually a latte or an americano so I ordered an iced latte. It was really good - not too milky and I loved being able to taste the espresso. Even on a busy day, they were pretty fast to keep up with the crowds too. We were in and out in less than 15 minutes. Worth a stop for good coffee! read more

It's nice to go to downtown Sausalito on a blustery November morning. There were more open parking spaces than you can imagine. Anyway... My friend had heard about this place so we met here. It's very small and they have only a few indoor seats. It was windy and not too cold, so we sat outside in front. We both ordered espresso drinks. They use a medium roast. I prefer dark, but it was decent. They were out of chai so I also ordered a hot cocoa drink that was spicy (slightly hot) and not too sweet. I was expecting a typical hot chocolate. I had the Ukrainian crepe and a cortado. The cortado was good, but I wish it was stronger. That's just me though. The crepe...think pig in a blanket or "soft taquito", but dessert type. The sweet cream inside the crepe pairs well with the sour cherries (?) that apparently go with it. I think the concept was nice. I'll try one of their croissants or toasts next time. The friendly people working there apparently can speak both English and Chinese, so that's a plus since I heard some customers speak Chinese too haha. Bon appetit! read more

My husband told me there was a new cafe opened by ukrainian pastry team and we went to check it out. Online we saw they had some traditional cakes, so I was intrigued. We came in the early afternoon and many things seemed sold-out. We got a pistachio croissant, latte and a cup of hot chocolate. You never know what to expect from a pistachio croissant, it could be filled with sweetened nut paste of a version of frangipane. The one we got had pastry cream with pistachios and in my opinion it is the best version of a filling, it was fresh and very tasty. The coffee too, was excellent. I didn't try the hot chocolate, but my kid loved it. I enjoyed sitting inside as the place has a few items from Ukraine for decoration and has reminded me some nice coffee shops from Lviv. Franko serves delicious breakfasts and even makes own pastries. Pistachio, strawberry, chocolate, and sometimes sour cherry croissants are out of this world. Super cozy and beautiful interior. Next 2 mornings were young staff in their 20s who acted like they were doing you a favor to take order. Super rude this morning from girl with short dark hair.
