Wonderful brunch spot! Really extensive menu with great scrambles, omelettes, Benedict's and a fried French toast!

    The $16.35 sourdough breakfast sandwich.

I have lived in southern Marin since 1989. I have been to Fred's countless times. I love their fluffy omelettes. They're incredible real Swiss crêpes, the millionaire bacon and the portion sizes are amazing. However, I wanted a quick breakfast sandwich to go and, even though this was a delicious sourdough sandwich, I don't appreciate the high cost. Now everybody would say that's just the way it is. I disagree, if you go by the standard restaurant calculations there is no doubt that $16.35 for a single breakfast sandwich is overpriced and unnecessary. The sandwich took five minutes to make. It had two slices of bacon, one egg, a slice of cheese and two pieces of toast. It didn't come with anything else so if you do the standard restaurant math, they're making 50 to 60% net profit on this sandwich, effectively gouging. This is unsustainable, and I hope restaurants in the Bay Area will consider how expensive they are for how little they provide. Again the sandwich was delicious but should be $9.95 at the most. If you're on vacation and don't mind a pricey tourist trap this is your spot though!

Single order of scramble eggs- $5

Fred's Coffee Shop is such a gem. Never had I ordered a scramble egg and enjoyed it because it would always be dry and overcooked at other cafes, but it was perfection. My toddler also ate a good portion of it so that's a good sign. The classic eggs Benedict was covered in a generous amount of well-flavored hollandaise sauce and a beautifully cooked poached egg. The hash brown had a good crisp without being overcooked or too greasy. The service was friendly, the food came out quick, hot and they had a small parking lot so that was convenient.

    Blackstone benedict with hashbrowns

Came here for breakfast during a weekend in Sausalito to fuel up before 3/5 food. I ordered the blackstone benedict which I thought was pretty good. The fred's bacon is similar to candied bacon anywhere, but not as sweet. The hashbrowns are excellent. My partner ordered the pancakes and he said that and the syrup had no flavor. The eggs tasted more like water than egg. 5/5 portions and generosity and service and staff, topped us up on coffee multiple times (even though we really didn't want any) 4/5 the vibes give classic American diner, quick service and easy to dine alone or with family in. Can't say I would come back but it's worth checking out if you're looking for a quick and easy meal.

Secret's out. One of the best breakfast spots in Sausalito is now serving dinner (4-9 pm Tuesday-Saturday). If you like Sailors, you'll love the food here. Sergio gives a warm welcome and the staff are full of joy. Beat the rush and come later. Happy hour is from 4-6 pm. I'm always down for a discount. The space is set up with smaller seating for an intimate dinner vibe. The gratis chips and salsa was great. Calamari is served hot, crispy, and with two sauces. The grilled fish tacos is served with two filets, rice, beans, and tortillas on the side. You make your own tacos as stacked as you please. Wash it all down with $6 beer. Yep, best price around. Want another secret? Breakfast menu for dinner is in the making, but you didn't hear it from me.

Don't believe the low ratings on this place, because those reviewers obviously wouldn't know good food if it bit them in the a$$. We found this gem on our way to Muir Woods and glad we did. The food is delicious here. Staff are all super sweet and attentive. The food comes out fast and the portions are huge! They keep your coffee topped off and will make a latte, too. Our waiter was super sweet and kept checking on our food and drinks. He went out of his way to make me a latte, as well. The atmosphere is quaint and old school diner, nothing fancy! But a great vibe to it. Next time we visit we will definitely be back!

Found this cute coffee shop while in San Francisco. There is seating inside & outside. We sat outside (they have heaters outside) & got our order taken quickly even though they were seemed pretty busy. The waiter was so friendly. We ordered French toast & Waffle with Berries with a side of scrambled eggs & bacon, apple juice & plain black coffee. Food was soooo delicioussssss! Tastes just like home cooked breakfast! Can't wait to come back!

Such a great spot in Sausalito! I stopped in for breakfast and it was absolutely delicious--fresh, flavorful, and perfectly prepared. The coffee was excellent too, and the cozy atmosphere made it the perfect place to relax and enjoy the morning. Friendly staff and a lovely vibe. A true gem for a breakfast break! We will definitely come Back .

This place is exactly what I want in a breakfast diner spot. I had the Greek omelette and got the hashbrowns with hollandaise. Everything tasted great and their portions were huge. My friends got the eggs benedict, Fat Fred, pancakes, and their special bacon and they were raving about it. The service was quick and friendly. I will definitely come back next time I visit.

Delicious, nutritious & so SO pretty!! Busy little corner Cafe away from the hassle & bustle of the tourist traps. Attentive staff. We sat at an outside table so we could have the pup with us.

    Lemon ricotta pancake

Food: Lemon ricotta pancake 2/5. If you like your pancakes on the slightly chewier/rubbery side, then this one's for you. The flavor of lemon ricotta was barely present, and the presentation of them fell flat for me. Would not recommend. (Side note: all the pictures were taken under a yellow umbrella which is why they look so yellow) Crab omelet: 2.5/5 The ratio of the various ingredients within the omelets was okay, but the crab didn't really stand out within it. The hashbrowns and toast were alright. Classic eggs benedict: 3/5. The benedict itself was good, but could use a little more salt/flavor. It was the potato medley that really stole the show here! The yams and potatoes were fried to a perfect crisp that enveloped its soft, warm interior. Service: 5/5 We (party of 3) came on a somewhat busy Sunday and were seated pretty quickly. Service was excellent; one of the waitresses was very considerate and I appreciate her! TL;DR: Despite the excellent service, I would not come here again. The food is mediocre and not worth it. I could find better brunch spots elsewhere that are around the same price point.

Breakfast Food was amazing. Linguiça sausages are the best. Fresh squeezed orange juice! Yum. Pancakes are thin and tasty.

Outstanding! Food and service were excellent. A quaint spot out of the city. Deep fried French toast is a must try.

Lots of nice dishes here - good looking omelettes & scrambles, and all the stuff you'd expect on a breakfast menu, but I keep getting drawn back to the Huevos Montana (con chorizo) which I have become addicted to. I'm a Sausalito resident for over 30 years. That adds up to a lot of breakfasts. Ive always enjoyed the ones I've had here. In fact I'm here right now and wondering why the place isn't more crowded. The restaurant is clean, bright, and welcoming, with just a soft hint of bacon lingering in the air. Our food arrived fast and served piping hot - the biggest win for this morning meal. I had pancakes (a two-stack, fluffy and classic) with a side of crispy bacon, paired with a Lappert's café mocha. He ordered eggs over easy, fried potatoes, an English muffin, and his own mocha. Simple plates. Our eyes definitely widened when the bill landed - almost $70 with tip for a straightforward breakfast. Sausalito pricing is its own ecosystem, but still, it caught us off guard. We chose this spot because of the strong Yelp rating, and while the service and ambience delivered beautifully, the food could use just a little more personality... and maybe a pinch more salt.

That said, the building still has so much potential and I'm excited to see who eventually brings new life to the space. In the meantime, something really special is happening upstairs. ERIA, located on the top floor, has been hosting incredible events that bring so much energy to the community. I've attended a few of their ticketed events and they were amazing, and I've also been lucky enough to attend some private parties there as well. The last time I was there, the owner was doing an interview series and shared parts of her story. Hearing about what she built from such a young age, despite people doubting her, was honestly inspiring. You can see how much heart and hard work goes into what she's created. Her venue was actually the first place I ever visited in Sausalito, and it's what made me fall in love with the town and keep coming back. Sausalito should treasure businesses like this--they bring life, creativity, and community to the area. The onion rings (really more like a mountain of crispy onion strings with a homemade dipping sauce) are a must‑start. The scallops over risotto -- a special that night -- were fantastic, perfectly cooked and full of flavor. The ribs had great seasoning but were unfortunately more fat and bone than actual meat, which was disappointing for a dish that should be a crowd‑pleaser. Dessert is where Buckeye wins you back. The s'mores pie is the indulgent treat you didn't know you needed, and the baked lemon pudding leans more toward a lemon cake layered with custard and huckleberry jam -- bright, comforting, and memorable.
