Charcoal Mocha Frappe: I added a shot of espresso since this isn't caffeinated and it was SO TASTY. Would definitely get again. I was worried it'd be too sweet and sugary but it was just perfect!! Even though it was blended the texture was nice and wasn't too icy and melted down nicely. Sometimes blended drinks seem to just become icy water but this still has lots of flavor as it melted. I would 100% come back for this drink. Loved it!! Burrito: I think I got sausage egg? It was surprisingly good for a microwaved burrito. Tasted pretty fresh. The sticker says it's made in California, I believe Sebastopol? It was on the smaller side but still filling and it was flavorful enough where I enjoyed it without hot sauce. Often times I find myself needing hot sauce for coffee shop burritos. Three small tables enough for maybe 3-4 people and wall plug was readily available. WiFi was reliable for working. read more

I was in the area twice for a work and I was so happy to be able to stop by for some interesting items in the menu! The first time I came I got the Charcoal frappe with coffee. It was good! Charcoal flavored things don't typically taste like anything to me, but it sure does make for an interesting colored drink. I could definitely feel the texture (chalky which I'm not a huge fan of), but overall charcoal is a subtle flavor. I would say it tasted like a subtle mocha/cookies n creme frappe. The second visit I got the Thai iced coffee, and it was good! I think I would prefer this one over the frappe. It tasted like a lighter version of a Vietnamese coffee. I didn't ask for adjustments to sweetness and thought it was perfectly sweet as it was (not too sweet). I also got an egg and cheese croissant sandwich. The egg is so nice and fluffy/silky. I also got a cheese danish, although I didn't really like it much because the pastry bread was a little too dense for my liking (I prefer something similar to croissant/puff pastry but this was dense almost like a cinnamon roll). This place is located inside of a small plaza and there is a decent amount of parking. The inside is small, with about 3 tables. Very good coffee in a strip mall by the freeway! Woman minority owned, and they're committed to sourcing shade grown beans. I needed some caffeine before a long road trip and this tiny place came up on the map literally on the way to the freeway, so glad I found it! Lots of people ran in for cold drinks on a hot day, but I got my cappuccino with oat milk hot and drank it in the nice air conditioned inside space. They had pastries and some food packaged to take away so there were options if you wanted a bite to eat with your coffee. read more

What a gem! There seemed to have individual working and she seemed like the founder! She was very nice when we walked in. We ordered Thai Iced Coffee, Thai Iced Tea and Cold Brew. Not sure how to explain it but the Thai Iced Coffee tasted a lot different from all the Thai Iced Coffees I have had. It was not as sweet as typical Thai Iced Coffee and had a very different flavor. If you only like classic Thai Iced Coffees then you may or may not enjoy this drink. It's very different - but very good!! I would definitely give it a try (it may be the coffee they use?) The Thai Iced Tea was great and sweet! The cold brew was very fresh!!! The coffee they use has a special taste and we all enjoyed it!!! The price point is also pretty fair! Finally got to try Kamson Coffee after always driving by it! I got a Thai iced coffee and a ham and cheese croissant. Both were great and I was happy that the coffee had the taste of authentic Thai coffee. This place is a gem in Marin, which tends to lack restaurants that cater to a diverse palette (ie not bland American food ). Service was also excellent and I felt like the pricing was very fair for how much you're getting (meanwhile a coffee half the size at Starbucks will run you close to $8). FYI-I came here for the Thai iced tea NOT the coffee. Coffee reviews are great and I probably should have gotten a coffee drink instead since it is a COFFEE shop. One of their signature drinks is Thai iced tea which I thought was good, but more so mediocre. I don't like my drinks super sweet and Thai iced teas are easily sugary, but the one I had here had a lighter taste to it. The boba was an all around fail. They weren't cooked all the way and didn't have the chewy texture that a tapioca pearl should have. But again I can't have high expectations since it's not a boba spot. I would go again to try the coffee since reviews are all positive. So I'm hoping if and when I do go back it's a better experience. read more

Stumbled upon this quaint cafe while in San Rafael and super glad we did. Who would have thought I'd have the best khao soi here? They have the cutest little cafe but due to COVID-19 indoor dining area isn't open. Luckily there is a couple of outdoor tables set up outside. I had the caramel latte and it was delicious. Hubby had the traditional thai iced tea and that was pretty good too. Tried the taro boba for the little one and she said she wants to go back there everyday. Couldn't leave without the sticky rice with mango and that just warrants another visit to San Rafael sooner than later to visit Kamson. I highly recommend trying their iced caramel latte. It is delicious!! This is not your average, local coffee shop. Their coffee beans are from Thailand and roasted in house a couple times a week. I met the owner who was very nice and welcoming. I told her it was my first time and asked what she recommended. She narrowed down the drink options based on sweetness level and whether I wanted a hot or cold drink. Her recommendation was spot on, an iced caramel latte. I got a medium size with oat milk and just one pump to make it less sweet. She mentioned the beans in my drink were roasted the previous day. Wow! Fresh and strong coffee, exactly how I like it. They have plenty of other drink options. Next time I want to try the charcoal latte. It took me a long time to come by and try their coffee, but now I am hooked. Exiting the parking lot can be difficult at times since it is right next to 101. There are a few tables, WiFi, and some small bites made locally. I've literally walked passed this coffee shop dozens of times going to the dollar tree and never noticed it until I checked yelp for fancy coffee and noticed their Thai Iced Coffee and had to give it a try. I came on a Saturday and there was a bit of a line. Took me about 20 mins to get my order from the start of waiting in line. I ordered: 1. Thai Iced Coffee: Delicious! I actually asked for it to be a bit less sweet and it was absolutely perfect! Perfect thai tea like flavor but mixed with coffee. It was an awesome combo. Also had the perfect amount of caffeine where I wasn't too jittery but also felt it. 2. Charcoal Mocha Frappe: Also good but not as good as the thai iced tea. This is also more of just a blended shake. It has a bit of a coconut flavor so if you aren't a fan of coconut, I would stay away. Also there isn't any caffeine in it and it costs extra for a shot of expresso which I didn't know so I was a bit bummed out. Overall, it was good but not amazing. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Overall, I loved this coffee shop. Lots of parking outside and the barista was very polite and friendly. Can get busy on weekends (at least when I went). The coffee is very fairly priced and it wasn't just gimmicky coffee. I happened to be in the area for work so it was a no-brainer decision to stop in Kamson Coffee. The staff were super friendly and went over a few items on the menu with me. As other reviews have also pointed out.. their customer service is top notch, bar none. I tried the charcoal mocha frappe. I never order mochas but have had a few activated charcoal lattes before so I definitely had to get this drink. Oooh man was it delicious! Not too sweet, unique flavor, perfectly blended. Need I say more? Kamson Coffee is located in a small shopping center shared with a few other shops and Dollar Tree, so no need to worry about parking. The bathroom was also very clean. I was so excited to try this place. Had a quick lunch next door today at Emma's and was looking forward to this place after reading all the good reviews. A very disappointing experience. The lady owner was not friendly at all. We ordered two Thai Iced Coffee drinks with boba. The drink was incredibly watered down and the bobas [they give a bit] had absolutely no flavor at all. I'm not sure how they have won these so called Honor awards from the Marin Independent Journal nor do I know how they got all these good reviews here on YELP. I'm sure they had friends, family, etc write them something good because there is ABSOLUTELY no way do they know how to make a drink. I came from eastbay area and never have really found really good coffee shops around there. Thai iced coffee is addicting and I will definitely try this again. Charcoal mocha is just SO GOOOOOOOD! I've been wanting to go here for a long time. They have a very cozy, small space in a strip mall near the freeway. It has a nice feel when you walk in. My review is very specific because one of my goals in life is to find the perfect espresso. I'm not an expert coffee evaluator in any way, but I know what I like. I prefer a darker roast. The coffee comes from Northern Thailand and they roast the coffee in a gorgeous roasting machine in the front of the shop. The owner (?) said that it was a medium roast which is not ideal for me, but it was very tasty and had a lot of character. I really enjoyed my entire experience in this cafe. Really wanted to like this place, but felt it was mostly mediocre. The people all seemed very nice, and the place is really cute. I got the KC Frappe and egg, bacon, cheese croissant sandwich, and I'm not impressed. The Frappe was okay, interesting flavors, a little bit stale coffee tasting, but maybe I am just unfamiliar with the spices and brew style of Thai coffee. For reference, I usually go to Peet's and Philz and I like a wide variety of things at both places, so I'm not super particular about the "exactness" of my coffee. The KC Frappe however, I'd give it 3 out of 5 stars, and that's being generous. The egg, bacon and cheese croissant was pretty disappointing though. First, it was luke warm, the cheese was barely melted inside, and the bacon was like a noodle texture and didn't seem fully cooked. The egg bland and flat, the croissant itself was soft-ish and seemed like it'd have been good on its own. The whole sandwich felt half cooked. I'd give it 2 out of 5 stars. read more

Tried this place out just this morning. It's tucked into a parking lot that's right before the 101 South entrance, right next to the Dollar Tree store. We ordered two Thai iced coffees and a ham-egg croissant. - Thai iced coffees: 4.5/5. The medium cups are really large, so you'll be sipping on these for a while. Strong coffee flavor, a bit of a dark/caramel sugar aftertaste that I liked but may not be for everyone. My favorite type of coffee is cafe sua da (Vietnamese iced coffee) and this is similar to that. - Croissant: 5/5. I believe they must have mixed in some sort of Thai seasoning (like fish sauce) in with the eggs, because it has that savory, slightly salty and tangy flavor that I love. This was delicious with the ham and the buttery, toasted croissant. I could eat three of these. Lastly, it's cool reading the history of Thai coffee and their own business's practices on the walls while I waited for my order. I found it super unique since I've never seen or tasted something of this nature before. If you are a fan of coconut, definitely give this drink a try.
