I discovered Nova Rosti shortly after it changed hands, I think in 2015/6, somebody correct me if I'm wrong. I knew I was to be a regular customer from the first visit. Chris the owner is a pleasure to talk to and do business with. And the coffee is my favourite in all these years since. The Location is really is just a storefront although there there are round iron tables outside. There's always plenty of parking, but it's on that silly Bellham loop, regardless it's worth the circuitous route. I love coffee and when I find the right bean at the right roast, it's just heaven for me and that's what I found at Nova Rosti in their very delicious special Blue Dragon medium roast. Sadly, I moved away and was without it for sometime. I recently called and was able to place an order and get it delivered to me up here in Sacramento and I'm beating myself up for not making that call sooner. Thank you, Cris. Great place to get a quick coffee before a work day as I work right around the corner. Apparently they roast their beans here too so I need to pick up a bag! San Rafael has almost an over abundance of riches when it comes to coffee roasters. I've lived here a few years and haven't even tried them all (Graffeo somehow always slips my mind). I had meant to try Nova Rosti for awhile, but Weaver's is so close by, so while I'm on that side of town... Of the real coffee purist roasters such as Red Whale and Weaver's, Nova Rosti is the least set up for drinking on site. There are some little iron tables outside, but it's not really the most scenic area and they don't really look like they're used often. The coffee is good and I would happily drink it every day if I worked nearby. And I didn't know about the discount for bringing your own cup until I read the yelp reviews--what a great perk. Four instead of five stars because the shop was just a little--I don't want to be mean, but--not clean. There were two little Dixie cups on the side counter with the napkins--maybe for water although I saw no water nearby? I picked one up to use to our my daughter a drink. But they both had a ring of dust. I then turned around and stopped my daughter from running her fingers over the dead fly covered windowsill. So, good coffee, but just one good cleaning would make it almost perfect as a coffee-to-go spot! read more

Local coffee shop by my job is very nice to have! The person who runs the place is very friendly and very welcoming! I can talk to this guy all day! As I arrive he already knows what to make me. I normally get hot chocolate to warm my mornings up with a small cookie. If you bring in your own cup then coffee is $1. Reasonable prices and they have smoothies as well which runs about the same price as Jamba Juice. Supporting a local business is nice and seeing good people do well is satisfying. They have a few selections for pastries since it is a small coffee shop so get there early to get the best ones available. Tip: Scan your Spot ON card to tack on points in order to get rewarded. Some of the local businesses use these cards for one to add points! read more

Quick and phenomenal coffee with a smooth and tasteful roast. My other coffee house options currently are Red Whale, Aroma Cafe(for Graffeo coffee beans), and Equator. Worst most discussing, dirty, foul service, disrespectful staff, tiny hard to find hole in the wall. Nasty coffee this coming from a person who actually roasted beans at Java del Porto in Fairfax many years ago. This place literally had a total of seven people come in durring prime business hours ythis morning betwee 7:30-8:30. This place is really more of a mail order business and should remain so. As a mail order we, the canbet shop and construction company, had ordered from these people before but now will not and will make it a point to inform people about my expierence. All due to the way I was treated being parked in the parking lot for 20 min. And trying to make a purchase from them. How Dare you call me a liar ihave the entire interaction on video and have been showing everyone it your shop is just another whole that will fail Becouse of bad staff. Literally the van was parked from 12:45-1:20 and that includes 5 min. It took to load it on the tow truck. You can try to make up any story you want but it's you that is loosing money not me and you who's business if failing Becouse of the way you treat people. Than you want to call me personally so what anyone who leave bad reviews get calls from you personally calling them liars. Ya that's good customer service. Good luck. Found this place because our expresso machine needed a tune-up. Chris fixed it in no time and determined the real problem when it had been into another place 3 times without any luck. The place smelled soooo good that I bought a couple of punds of beans - one for the machine and one for a friend. Verdict from us both was excellent. I had been buying Rulli's but Tom & Dave's is fresh roasted and tastes fresher. read more

Hands down, this is the BEST coffee in Marin. It's literally right around the corner from where I work, yet I never ventured in there until a few months ago. I'm hooked now, there's no turning back! Their iced coffee is terrific on a warm day and it's super-duper caffeinated. I usually get one in the afternoon and I'm good to go for the rest of the day. Their regular coffee is fantastic too. If you bring your own cup they only charge you a buck, which is an awesome deal. There is something to be said for coffee that is roasted on the premises. I have a friend who has just recently gotten into the roasting business and I've learned a lot about the process from her and now I know that it's the only way to go. read more

I mean, not overtly rude, but she acted like my simple coffee order was really inconveniencing her, despite not having any other customers. Maybe I just got her on a bad day. For anyone who thinks customer service is a thing of the past, you need to go to Tom and Daves and have your faith in humanity restored. I took some parts of my ailing espresso machine here, Chris did what I had tried to do for 3 days in about 15 seconds and didn't charge me for it. I couldn't walk out of there in good conscience without buying an espresso, donut and pound of coffee, all of which were exceptional. read more
