My favorite drinks are the Chai latte and golden latte. I like my drinks extra hot, and the baristas at this location know how to do it right! Consistently friendly and efficient service. Peet's Coffee is my favorite, but unfortunately, Monday at 4:30 pm this particular location gave me the worst experience I've ever had. The barista seemed rushed and distracted, more focused on getting back to his phone and chatting with the other guy than making our drinks properly. We received three poorly made coffees -- bitter, unbalanced, and frankly undrinkable. On top of that, the croissants were stale and dry. It was a disappointing visit overall. I hope this was just an off day, but it really stood out given how much I usually enjoy Peet's. All three coffees were made different and not what I asked for. read more

Ordered two large coffees with oatmilk. Because oatmilk is not on counter for customers to add, the barista added to our coffees. She put twice as much oatmilk in one of the containers as she did the other and filled them completely to the top, which dripped down the container as we walked away. Mine had the large quantity of oatmilk - made coffee lukewarm and could I could barely taste the coffee. Every time we stop at this location we remember after that we have rarely had a good experience. Note to self: stop at Starbucks in Safeway nearby next time. read more

We ordered over $100 worth of coffee/pastries, and all I got was lukewarm coffee, a double trip to pick up what she forgot to hand me my first trip, and multiple lectures about how I should've paid for hot water after being told it was free (and waiting over 5 mins for it). I love going to this Peet's coffee location. The staff are friendly and my drink orders are always fast. They are right off the freeway across the street from the Town Center. They share a parking lot with a bank next door, but there is plenty of parking. There are some tables out front and along the side of the building to enjoy the outdoors or catch up with a friend. Their mobile app is very easy to use and I order most of the time thru it. This is my go to coffee spot in Corte Madera. I definitely prefer going here rather than Philz or Starbucks that is nearby. read more

It's Peet's coffee, so if you're into it you're into it, but be fore warned: this is an *extremely* tiny location, with little to no serviceable space to sit down, read, or get work done. If you're looking for a working cafe, you're much better off visiting Philz in Town Center right across the street. read more

So I love Peet's, and unless given a reason to do otherwise, I will always rate them five stars. The one-star ding here is because there's basically still no inside seating*. Not a big deal for us, as we prefer to sit outside anyway at this location (it kinda makes sense: if there's no inside seats then your outside seats better be nice). It's pretty, and surprisingly quiet consider how close it is to the highway. Also the bathrooms here (accessed from the outside) are spacious and nice. Made a yelp account just to post about this Peet's. Never been to this Peet's, never got to step FOOT into this location; one worker, a white girl with long straight brown hair comes out and stares at me and my vehicle for 3 minutes straight, giving me the nastiness glare; didn't even say anything. I was only parked in the middle of the thing for 2 minutes trying to call my family about an emergency and she comes out. I love Peet's coffee, but if your workers attitude has anything to do with how the costumers are treated, this is not the place to go. I like Peet's and drink it 90% of the time even thou I have Starbucks stock! I went into this Corte Madera location this morning for a big box of coffee for a lot of people, and was somewhat surprised at how grumpy and pissed off. Most of the employees were when I walked in. It seemed like they didn't want to be there and they were annoyed that they had to serve me coffee. They all kind of looked at each other to see who would be the first to say something to me so I had to speak up and say that I pre-ordered coffee to go and after that, they got it for me, but it was like a major inconvenience in their day for them to do that, I was pretty surprised and I noticed it immediately. I've been picking up coffee from this Peet's for well over a decade, and am very happy they're here! In this time, I've seen many baristas come and go. Through it all, they've done a good job. There have been a few hiccups, but that's inevitable. Lately, they've been having some serious staffing issues. Overall, I've experienced efficient, relatively friendly service and orders executed with accuracy. I'll keep picking up my afternoon decafs here...if they've managed to staff up and stay open past 2 PM. ;) read more

One of the cashiers/barista, name tag: Arlo, was so unprofessional. I ordered a small latte and had my own cup. He stood and chit chat with others instead of making coffee. While I was waiting for my coffee, I decided to go to a bathroom. I came back, my coffee and others were still not ready. A few minutes later, he called my name and asked if I wanted milk to fill all the way, I said: fine. His response was: you know you ordered a small latte right? Why you wanted your mug to fill all the way? I told him, I didn't ask you. You are the one that asked me. He was very rude.... I was not sure what he was trying to accomplish by his acts. Are you kidding me? This place is a total joke. I stopped in for a single espresso (2/22/19 at 1:38pm) and had the weirdest exchange with their barista. The place was not at all busy, a few people here and there so he wasn't overwhelmed with orders. I receive my single shot of expresso in a large paper cup which was a total waste of a cup. That was ridiculous enough but when I looked in the cup, it was the tiniest single shot I've ever seen. It barely covered the bottom of the cup. I told the barista this was a bit small and he reluctantly offered to pull another, "longer" shot. He remakes my espresso, throws away my first shot, put my new shot into yet another cup and it comes out almost exactly the same. Either their single shots at this Peet's are absolutely the smallest shots anywhere or this guy doesn't know what he's doing. Maybe if I could have combined the shot he wasted with the second shot it would have been tolerable better but that didn't happen. What a total ripoff! I paid $2.36 for drop of espresso, wasted two large paper cups and left pissed off. I know what a single espresso shot should look like in a cup, I get one nearly every afternoon and they're never that small. I won't be back again for anything here. read more

This Peet's location was a very BUSY and hectic place on Sunday around 12 PM. While the baristas were fairly friendly, you could feel their stress from the moment you walked in... they were bickering with each other a bit each time they were confused about someone's order. I ordered an iced mocha but got a hot one. Luckily, I was just as happy with a hot mocha but clearly the barista hadn't listened very well when I ordered. It felt like an imposition for the barista to make the drink, my friend and I weren't greeted, the team member at the cash register wasn't friendly, didn't offer assistance when I was having issues with the app and to top it off the drinks were not made correctly. I normally don't review coffee shops, let alone coffee chains. But this particular Peet's location is a real lovely addition to the Corte Madera community. It's not located in a mall, and yet it's close enough to everywhere you want to be, including the freeway. They offer all the usual Peet's staples, including strong coffee, tea, juices, snacks, etc. But what makes this particular Peet's stand out is their sunny, outdoor seating. It's a lovely place to just sit and catch up with friends, and/or chill by yourself with a newspaper or book (speaking of which, the public library is just a stone's-throw away!). The staff here is very friendly, and even when the lines get long, they get you your beverage in a timely manner. And unlike other Peet's stores in Marin, they keep things clean (no sticky tables, spilled milk, empty sugar dispensers, and overflowing garbages). It's obvious that this particular branch is well-managed. Keep up the good work, guys! read more

Ok, I ask for oatmeal. I love their oatmeal. I get all the toppings. But I ask for extra brown sugar. They charge me 35 cents. FOR FRIKIN SUGAR?! They said if I wanted free sugar to go to the coffee counter. They have to charge for the oatmeal sugar. Are you kidding? Mill Valley or Northgate never ever charge me. First of all standing in line with 6 others to give my coffee order while employees chat behind bar together is infuriating enough ..this seems to happen every time I stop at this particular Petes by the way not at BonAir shopping center where customer comes first! The woman behind the counter was just out of it or something. She looked perplexed as we were ordering (did I mention we were just ordering plain 'ole tea?) Then, we were waiting for a long time and finally decided to go up to the counter and see what could be the delay. The woman behind the counter says "Oh- yeah. Here they are." And there they were- sitting on the back counter where she left them and forgot. My small Earl Grey (bag) was a large and my husband's jasmine loose leaf was bag and also the wrong size. I love Peet's. There is no other brand to which I am more loyal. The quality of my Peet's experience is informed primarily by two things: first, get my order right (it's the same every time), and second, remember that your customers love you; love them back. When I come in before work in the morning, I am just praying that they'll come through for me. They get my order, medium iced tea in a large cup, wrong about once each week. On a particularly sultry afternoon, I came in with my two non-coffee-drinking friends (I know...I couldn't believe it either). I asked for my usual medium iced tea in a large cup, and also a medium-sized vanilla/caramel freddo, but with no coffee, which the young guy at the register says they'll be happy to make. There are two other customers in the store ahead of us. A girl who is impossibly slow with every movement is making the freddo-sans-coffee, and as she pours it into the cup (ever so slowly), she discovers that the cup is not full. She hands it to me and says, "without the coffee it made it a little short, is that okay?" I charged you $4, but I only have half of a freddo here for you...is that okay? If you just pay for it but then just drink half? Would that be cool? Six more customer have now entered the store, and each one has ordered a fancy blender drink, each a different flavor, with special instructions. Slow-motion girl is the only person attempting to fill these orders; cheerful register guy is ringing orders, and two other staffers are milling around by the bean counter looking intellectual. When I explain that when I order a medium, I'm really expecting the entire 12 ounces, she sighs heavily and turns back to the blender at the speed of plant growth, reaches out and drops the half-full cup into a garbage can, and begins again. A coworker who has happened by on his way to the Customer Service Hall of Fame induction ceremony mentions that she might consider adding a little more milk to make up for the absence of coffee. She looks at him blankly and continues at her task at glacial speed. She presents a cup mostly full of chunky ice with swirls of caramel on one side, not having been blended enough to make it all the way through to the other end of the blender cup. She calls out, "thank yeeew" and turns away. I take my $4 iced milk slush over to the condiment counter for a lid and straw. There are no straws. Why do I keep going back, when Novato Peet's, the Rolls Royce of Peet's stores, is mere minutes from my house? Because I wake up too late, and can't stop or I'll be stuck in traffic for an extra 20 minutes. The real pain is that I have only myself to blame for my misery. Myself and Glacier Girl. read more
