The luscious treats beautifully displayed

This is one of those bakeries you cannot pass up! In the parking lot by Nugget Market, but skip Nugget and come here for delightful sweet things. The variety of cakes, pastries cookies, and more will make your mouth water eyeing the beautifully made things in the counter displays. Just plain YUM! I got an assortment of cookies, boxed exquisitely, to take to a friend for an after lunch treat and they were absolutely delicious. Do not miss this small piece of bakery heaven!

They taste delicious, this pic doesn't do it justice.

Thank you Sweet Things for saving the day, as I wanted something special for my daughter's big day graduating Class of 2020 Bowdoin with a Neuroscience degree. We were all devastated not being there due to Covid, and to witness her walk on stage and celebrate with her friends, faculty, and people who inspired her the last 4 memorable years of college life. With such a huge accomplishment, she deserved only the best aka special treats from an exceptional place that knows customized/specialty baked goods. They've been in business for many decades, and I grew up seeing "Sweet Things" pastries everywhere from SF to Marin to the entire Bay Area. I figured this will definitely cheer her up. I took a picture of the cookies, didn't have time to take the cupcakes when her siblings bit into them like it was their special day - SMH. She was ecstatic for a quick second, then back to being sad, then happy again due to a roller coaster of emotions. I totally feel her pain, it's a huge milestone, yet we couldn't be on campus to celebrate in Maine with endless lobsters. Go figure, a Cali kid who went to Maine for college, and loved it. In many ways, it resembles the beauty of Marin and the stunning coastal landscape. Thanks again for making the delicious cookies & cupcakes unforgettable, and staying open during this crisis. I love supporting local businesses and always will. 'Til we meet again ~ happy baking & see you on Yelp (SYOY)!

Our brunch experience at The Bungalow Kitchen in Tiburon was nothing short of exceptional,a…read moreperfectly curated journey through flavor, elegance, and hospitality. We opted for the Brunch Prix Fixe menu ($49 per person), selecting two appetizers and two entrées, and every single dish exceeded expectations. To begin, the Jalapeño Lobster Toast was a standout. The lobster was incredibly tender and sweet, elevated by a delicate kick from the jalapeño, the ginger aïoli added a subtle warmth. Each bite was layered, balanced, and deeply satisfying. Equally impressive was Michael Mina's Ahi Tuna Tartare (well worth the supplement). This dish was a masterpiece of freshness and complexity. The tuna was pristine, melting in the mouth, while the combination of mint, chilis, and Asian pear created a mix of coolness, heat, and sweetness. The pine nuts added a welcome crunch, and the garlic habanero-sesame oil delivered a bold, aromatic depth that made the dish very unique. For the main course, the Bungalow Benedict was pure comfort elevated to perfection. Served on a beautifully toasted Model Bakery English muffin, the Canadian bacon was rich and savory, while the poached eggs were cooked flawlessly, their yolks silky and indulgent. The hollandaise was luxuriously smooth while the breakfast potatoes on the side were crisp, golden, and perfectly seasoned. The Steak Frites Au Poivre (also a supplement) was another highlight. The filet medallions were cooked exactly to temperature (we asked for med rare) tender, juicy, and full of flavor. The au poivre sauce added a refined peppery richness that complemented the meat beautifully. The crinkle-cut fries were crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside! Dessert was the perfect finale. The Brûléed Basque Cheesecake was extraordinary, so creamy and rich with a delicately caramelized top that added depth and texture. The Three Layer Chocolate Cake was pure decadence. Moist, rich, and intensely chocolatey, it was elevated by the lightness of whipped crème fraîche. The salted caramel sauce tied everything together with a perfect sweet-salty finish....you can tell I'm a chocoholic! Beyond the food, the ambiance deserves special mention. The space is incredibly refined, with a soothing palette of pastel tones that immediately invites relaxation. The décor draws inspiration from Art Nouveau and Art Deco, creating an atmosphere that feels both timeless and thoughtfully curated. Everything is immaculate, contributing to an overall sense of understated luxury. Finally, the service truly elevated the entire experience. The General Manager, Giovanni, was outstanding. He guided us through every detail of the menu, offering thoughtful explanations and perfectly pairing wines with each course. His presence was attentive yet never intrusive, making us feel completely at ease. His professionalism, warmth, and deep knowledge added a personal touch that made the experience truly memorable. RECCOMENDED!

Service was warm and genuinely friendly, but noticeably sluggish for a special occasion dinner. The cocktail menu leans hard into "curated house creations," but the execution left little room for nuance -- the Mezcal Negroni was essentially just a glass of Mezcal wearing a Negroni costume. If the base spirit is going to be that forward, it needs to be intentional, not a shortcut. Appetizers were decent but felt almost apologetically small -- the kind of portions that make you wonder if they're building anticipation or just cutting costs. The mains told a similar story. Generous in size, sure, but each dish had at least one thing you couldn't ignore: the lobster pot pie needed more depth and richness to justify itself, the pork came out dry, the salmon's romesco skewed so sweet it lost all its savory backbone, and the hanger steak -- despite being listed as a featured cut -- was surprisingly undersized. The bones of something great are clearly here: a fun concept, a nice space, a staff that cares. But right now the kitchen isn't finishing its sentences. Oh, and the dessert? waaaay too sweet and inedible. I'd give it another shot on a better night -- hopefully the execution catches up to the ambition.

A Local Hub, But Not Quite My Cup of Matcha…read more Parking was my first little hurdle. There's no direct parking, so I ended up in the Cinema Lounge lot and paid about $8-9. I know Sausalito is used to paid parking, but in the rest of Marin it always feels slightly... offensive. Especially in the rain. And yes -- it was raining cats and dogs, which made the walk over less than charming, though not unbearable. When you search "coffee shop Tiburon," this is what comes up, so it does feel like the local hub. The place was fairly full when I arrived, which is always a promising sign. Service, however, felt distracted. The person at the register seemed far more engaged with teammates than with customers. I asked about the soup of the day and was met with a kind of aloof indifference that made me immediately regret asking. Not rude -- just uninterested. There's a difference. I ordered a matcha. It arrived in a glass with a cardboard sleeve -- which I will never understand. Why are we serving hot matcha in clear glasses? It's not chic. It's just awkward. Unfortunately, it was also very bad. I didn't drink it. My friend's latte was also disappointing, though at least it came in an actual latte cup. She did love her scone, so that's a point in their favor. I circled back to the soup of the day (zucchini). It was solid, comforting enough for a rainy afternoon, though the bread on the side was a little stale -- which felt unnecessary at a $35 total bill for two people. The pricing overall was reasonable for Marin. The space itself is slightly cold temperature-wise, but aesthetically it has that "a little worn-in" charm. Not polished. Not precious. Just... there. It's new to me, though it doesn't feel particularly new or differentiated. Would I rush back? Probably not. I wouldn't choose it as a meeting spot, especially when there are places like Amalfi Deli or Café Brulé nearby. I do appreciate that it's in that sweet Tiburon pocket -- it should be the kind of place you want to love. I'm just not sure it quite delivers the warmth or memorability that makes you return. I'm still on the hunt for a non-chain Tiburon coffee spot with a little more heart. Rustic near Point Tiburon is reliable (and local-ish), but I'm craving something with more personality.

From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with big smiles and a genuine "welcome" that you just don't find everywhere. The staff was incredibly patient as we sampled flavors, which was much appreciated! What really sets this place apart, though, is the atmosphere. It's so much more than just an ice cream shop. They have these awesome kid-oriented art activities that kept my little ones busy and creative, plus free arcade games that brought back some serious nostalgia for the adults. It's the perfect spot to actually relax while the kids have a blast. I have to obviously mention the most important part: the ice cream. It is phenomenal. They've developed their own recipes and you can tell they put a lot of thought into them. The ube is a must try! It's vibrant, earthy, and sweet--hands down the best ube ice cream I've had in the city. And I have to shout out the cookie dough - this isn't your standard grocery store version. The dough chunks are huge and have a unique, homemade taste that pairs perfectly with the base. If you're looking for a family-friendly spot with an amazing vibe and even better treats, this is it. We will definitely be back!

The wait was a bit longer than anticipated since it was a warm Saturday - reasonable, with just one employee. Though, she was patient (despite the kids not so much, lol). The storefront was a small space, so it was hard to see the ice cream physically even though, there was a menu. Otherwise the ice cream was perfect (yes I ate my kid's ice cream!). It had a perfect smooth ice cream texture with a soft crunch from the cookies. When a bite had a cookie, it was like a blast of flavor, but not overwhelmingly sweet. Enjoyed the bits of cookies versus chunks of cookies. Also, loved how tiny the kids sizes were - size was just right and did not easily melt. Only downside is that it's a bit pricey, but overall still a solid spot for a treat. It's also in a plaza with a bunch of surrounding restaurants so it's a perfect dessert spot for after dinner.
