We ran into three of his co-workers there.....two were European, one French and the third doesnt even like sweets, but he was in line. This was a great sign. They had 8 items, we ordered one of each item to try and I tell you......every single piece was soooooo good. Im not a huge sweets fan, first of all. The sweetness of each item is far less than what you're used to at American bakeries. The flavors were all on point. We tried it right when we got home...and made it last until Sunday night...taking little bites after each meal. This is the best thing in Novato right now.... You can wait for their pop ups or you can pre-order anything, anytime. Here's the list of things we got: 1. Parisian Chocolate Flan - **** light and airy, 2. Almond Raspberry Travel Cake - **** At first bite, it was a bit plain, but on our second round, we both really loved this cake. This was my husband's top 3 item. 3. Salted Vanilla Caramel- ***** so so good! I wished we ordered more! The best flavor, sweetness and consistency of the caramel 4. Canele - ***** by far one of the best canele Ive had EVER. Perfect crunch on the outside and the best consistency on the inside. 5. Caramel Travel Cake - ***** we werent sure what a travel cake was and also concerned it would be too much caramel, but this was such a dream. Imagine a choc cake, coated with a thin coat of dark choc....and on top of that, a nice sized caramel glazed ribbon on top. You control how much of the caramel want with each bite. We were blown away at how light and delicious this cake was. This was my 2nd fav. 6. Coconut Bounty Tart - **** Maybe it was just me, but I didnt taste much of the coconut on this one, but the crust and flavors were near perfection. This would be a great treat with a nice cup of tea or cofee. 7. Gateau Basque - ***** Just by looking at this, I knew I was going to enjoy this...only problem was that I didnt know I was going to love it THIS much! SO GOOD!!!!!! 8. Basque Cheesecake - ***** Ive had many variations of a basque cheesecake, but after tasting this, all those other ones do not ever compare. The saltiness and sweetness is a perfect balance after a meal. This was probably my favorite of all the items we got that day.

We tried one of each: Parisian Flan, Milk Slice Cake, Gâteau Basque, and Basque Cheesecake (gluten free). Every single dessert was delicious but my favorite was Gâteau Basque with the berry compote. The service was also amazing and I appreciated their kind words and suggestions. We took our desserts to go and enjoyed them later at home. I'd definitely recommend Patisserie Orlando - but good luck - it'll be hard to choose only one dessert!

I opted for a white mocha and tuna melt. I have to say the tuna melt is the BEST. It's served on a toasted flaky croissant with the perfect amount of tuna. The people at the counter were upbeat, friendly, and were smiling. The vibe was nice for the early morning. It is street parking but the couple of blocks I walked were manicured & green. It was a good day.

Unfortunately, my experience fell short in a few meaningful ways. I ordered a lavender coffee latte, which I was really looking forward to, but it lacked flavor and was disappointing enough that I chose not to purchase anything further. That alone might not have stopped me from returning, but what followed did. Knowing European culture, and especially Parisian cafés, are often very dog-friendly, and given Napa's well-known dog-loving atmosphere, I felt comfortable bringing my dog, who is a service animal. I was immediately asked to leave because only service animals are allowed, with the assumption made that my dog was not one. While he is in fact a service animal, the interaction left me feeling unwelcome and uncomfortable. There was no curiosity or neutral clarification... just an assumption and a request to leave. That moment really deflated the excitement I had walking in. Between the coffee experience and feeling unwelcome, I decided not to stay as long as planned or purchase anything further. I'm glad to see that others have had better experiences here, and the pastries certainly look lovely. I suppose those interested should trust other reviewers on that front. Unfortunately, based on my experience, I won't be returning.
