Equator Coffees in Larkspur is located in such an adorable downtown area. There's a Boichik Bagels, ice cream spot, park across the street, and Perry's/other eateries next door. It's the perfect spot sandwiched in between all of the above for truly any time of day. Arriving mid-morning, we wanted to try something unique and different from their seasonal menu. Continuing on my search for trending happiness in a cup, we ordered the Banana Cream (cold brew topped with banana cold foam). Banana is having a moment, and we're here for it! It's so refreshing and delicious. I love banana, so this was right up my alley! Looks like other banana flavored drinks offered are the Banana Matcha Cloud and the Iced Caramelized Banana Latte. Def recommend if banana is in your top five rotation of the summer too. We also grabbed a pack of their seasonal beans for home, the Super Bloom blend ~ a light roast for the spring season! The coffee is decent, but they take forever. They get a lot of online orders and if you are standing in line when a large online order comes in you will go to the back of the line, even if you were there first, even if you only have one small espresso. So you can go ahead and order online instead. Except I always bring my own cup so that won't work. Oh well. I like this Equator coffee location because I have always found the staff to be very nice. I appreciate their good hearted spirit and efficiency in getting drinks out. The drinks are consistently good, in my opinion. The atmosphere is small town coffee shop with lots of locals. It's a great place to hang out. They have internal and external seating. read more

I'm a recent fan of Equator Coffees and am glad I could try their Larkspur location! In the area, I wanted to grab some caffeine, so stopped here. I love how quaint, cute, and outdoorsy the cafe is! It's quite small inside with a few bar stools but there are plenty of tables outside in their shared patio. Love how dog-friendly it is and that they offer dog treats too! Ordering is straightforward--either in person or online. The workers were kind and accommodating, despite the mixup. Their menu has typical coffee and teas plus seasonal offerings. They also sell baked goods. I ordered the Blueberry Sage Matcha Cream with Extra Matcha, Oat Milk, and Light Ice. With mobile ordering, I also brought my cup. In Marin, they charge a disposable cup fee. When I arrived, they had never received the order. But, I appreciated them quickly making it and bringing it outside to me. The matcha was strong and earthy. I could taste too much blueberry or sage but it was creamy and a nice addition. Nice to try, but wouldn't necessarily order again! My pup enjoyed her treat. Larkspur is such a cute town and the Equator Coffees goes perfectly with the community. The cafe is off Magnolia Ave. in the shopping center where there's communal parking. I was in Larkspur and made a quick stop at Equator for my daily caffeine fix. The service was excellent--super friendly and efficient--and my drink was ready in no time. I've always known Equator for their great coffee, but this time I decided to try their new Blueberry Sage Matcha Cream Latte... and wow. It was so good. The blueberry foam paired perfectly with the iced matcha, adding a light sweetness and a unique twist. I love the atmosphere and the drinks here, and I've heard it's woman owned, which makes me want to love it even more. Still, the wait times are consistently unrealistic unless you have the luxury of waiting up to 30 minutes for a single drink. If this felt like a one-off, I wouldn't be writing a review because things happen. But this is a disappointing pattern that is easily solvable by hiring more staff during peak hours. For example, I placed an online order for pickup this morning and it said it would be ready within 2 minutes (a Christmas miracle!). I arrived 17 minutes later, allowing for plenty of buffer on my way to work because I'm aware that they often take longer than expected -- but they hadn't even started my one drink to go order. That's kind of egregious. Again, I wouldn't consider this to be an issue if the wait estimates were even slightly more accurate, (maybe a 5 minutes difference) but I often order on the way to something else and wouldn't order if I knew there would be such a discrepancy. After all, that's the whole point of pre-ordering and to-go. A 20-minute delay on the scheduled pick up time for a single drink feels excessive. This clearly isn't a case of staff not working hard. They're obviously doing their best and staying on top of things. It just feels like an understaffing issue. Given that a single drink costs around $9, it seems reasonable to expect a bit more bandwidth to hire a few extra people during peak hours. read more

Consistent great coffee, nice food selection and lots of indoor and outdoor seating not crowded with folks on laptops but mostly people enjoying their coffee and conversing, What a concept - people interacting and not plugged in!! Somehow Equator never misses! I had been to the Sausalito store and one in LA before. I am new to Larkspur and after a long hot girl walk, I learned that there is an Equator nearby. I just had to pop in! It was a super busy day there but everyone was so, so positive and upbeat. Even though the line was long, I got in and out in no time. Big shout out to Fajema who was such a cutie patootie! She was small but a little hustler. Totally lifting everyone's spirits, including all the dogs! Final consensus: clean, positive, and quaint! One of the best lattes I've ever enjoyed! Very cute place in a very cute town. It has a small bar seating area around the interior perimeter, but most of the seating is outside--so get there early to get a seat on a cold morning. We split a breakfast sandwich which is served on some very rustic toasted sourdough. Inside, it had a frittata and fresh avocado. It was delicious...kind of wish I had gotten my own vs. sharing!! Nice little coffee shop settled amongst a few other shops (The Lark Creek Shops). Inside has some seating but the best seat is out front in a shared patio area adjacent to a bagel shop. I had a cappuccino and then another. It was so good. I can't decide if Tesla's, dogs or babies in strollers are more prevalent here but whichever is the case, it is a beautiful area. read more

I love charming downtown Larkspur! I'm not there often but when I am, this is one of two favorite spots for great coffee. Love how the interior of this cozy little coffee shop showcases the Marin cycling culture! And the outdoor seating area shows you why - it's usually full of cyclists stopping before or after their rides. On my recent visit it was a warm day and late afternoon, past my caffeine tolerance, so I opted for a caffeine-free, unsweetened, iced hibiscus tea. It was refreshing but I probably would have liked it better with sweetener. Always good to try new things but next time I'll likely go with my tried and true iced latte. They sell some baked goods and canned beverages (coffee drinks, sparkling waters, Maker wines...), and of course Equator coffee beans. If you don't already know, Equator is a women-owned, LGBTQ-owned, b-certified business that focuses on quality, sustainability, and social responsibility, using Organic and Fair Trade coffees. First time at Equators coffee today. Great coffee selections & very friendly staff. We ordered a iced mocha & hot mocha & breakfast sandwich. Both coffees very tasty and the sandwich was excellent made with multigrain toast. Enjoyed coffee so much returned 30 minutes later for a macchiato which topped off my morning. This location is charming and is definitely a gem in the Larkspur area. It's like a small cabin serving fresh coffee and pastries! This is a great coffee house with well known beans from the Bay Area. Coming into this location is also Christmas-y with the holiday decor in the plaza. I enjoy their regular drip coffee which has notes of nuts and chocolate. If you're visiting the Marin area, stop by here first for a cup of joe and walk around the boutique shops. read more

This coffee place is great. Its central location in Larkspur on Magnolia makes it convenient and a frequent stop. There is usually ample parking in the back lot and tables in front. The drinks are creative and divine. I had a pear latte last week which was a fun twist to the regular drink. The coffee here is 5/5 stars! I had the iced Lavender Vanilla Latte and my partner had the iced Habibi Latte. The drinks were not too sweet, and the coffee flavor was smooth. I'm giving this spot a 4/5 stars because we weren't big fans of the pastries. The croissant was a bit dough-ey and the maple scone wasn't very flavorful. The food and coffee are pricy, but very good quality. However I give four stars due to the length of service. I ordered a breakfast sandwich mid-morning, not a big rush time, and waited over 20 minutes to receive it. It looks like there are so many online beverage orders coming in, that they are not able to integrate a food order. This is the second time I have had to wait so long to receive breakfast. I've been stopping in here for years - never had to wait more than five minutes for an espresso drink. Now when I go in consistently, they tell me it's gonna be a 15 minute wait for a coffee drink - and they do have an online ordering - which is the issue of why you have to wait 15 minutes for your espresso. Those orders are ahead of you - so even if there's 6 people in the shop - there could be 20 ahead of you. I just miss the natural Ness of being able to stop in for a coffee and have it ready in five minutes. The staff seemed really stressed out and busy which is too bad. With oat milk, expect to Vanilla bombolini: think of a creme filled donut and you'll get an understanding of the flavor profile. I have been a semi regular customer since Equator Larkspur first opened. It used to be consistently excellent in product and service. But sadly, the service has significantly deteriorated of late. Recently, I waited 5 minutes as the only person in line in front of the register without even a glance or acknowledgment from the staff - i left without ordering. On other occasions, it has taken 20 to 30 minutes to get a coffee without explanation or apology. The service is often surly and rarely friendly or warm. While Equator Larkspur has a great downtown location and consistently good coffee, it's crucial they better train their staff to be courteous and show genuine hospitality. read more

This is a great, conveniently located cafe. Indoor seating was closed during the pandemic but there are about 8-10 small tables for outdoor seating (some with sun and some with shade). It isn't an optimal spot to work since the chairs aren't particularly comfortable to be sitting in for long periods of time. There is a bathroom in the mall/complex which is just across from the cafe; you just need to ask the cashier for the restroom key. There is tons of parking in the lot behind the mall/complex. read more
