Friday late afternoon we finished an enjoyable dinner and decided to finish with gelato. The gelato was great. Issue: With such nice weather understandably there was a line waiting to enjoy cold gelato. The issue was with staff and the dismissive attitude and tone. Sure everyone has a bad day but when you hear comments "...it's our rush hour you're going to have to wait.." "...I can't serve you you're in the wrong line.." "...what do you want..." Not "...how can I help you..." "...sorry for the wait..." Customer service doesn't cost anything but No customer service will make you lose customers and $ tips. I highly recommend Caffe Acri. It is my favorite casual Italian restaurant. The menu is short but all of the options are excellent. Pinsa, pizza with a light crust, is unusual and delicious! Corner coffee shop with a Parisian feel outdoor patio. Inside is spacious although a pigeon or 2 will find its way in and hop on tables looking to nibble on crumbs. I find that unsanitary. I just noticed a lot of highly monied Marin cyclists come in here and disregard those of us waiting to be served to ensure they have their nonfat lattes for their rides. Oh Tiburon. This is a particularly spacious spot in a prime location right next to the Angel Island ferry terminal. Jamie W. and I should know since we had a few minutes before we were boarding the boat. I decided to get the $4.35 Latte without a speck of spandex stretched over me. It was piping hot as expected, and while they had an impressive pastry and dessert display case, we held firm to our nutritional standards lest we buckle the equilibrium on the ferry. No surprise that this cafe is quite the tourist magnet. This is a classic cafe located in the heart of downtown. Food in the cold case looked delish but me and my wife came for their banana-coffee smoothie was fantastic. We shared this smoothie while enjoying the sun and people watching outside in their patio. The smoothie was made perfectly. Seemed like a decent place to have a quick lunch. A nice pretty spot, a corner side cafe. We got a big bowl of the potato leek soup - it tasted great. Warm and hearty, and just what we needed for a windy afternoon. The caprese sandwich was excellent as well! Who would have thought. I certainly didn't expect it to taste that good. A perfect balance of pesto tomatoes & cheese, on a perfectly grilled bread. Minus one star because our friend's orders were messed up (aka, it didn't even come until we asked for it, and when it did, it came in to-go boxes instead of plates). Well-located Café in downtown Tiburon - fast service, good beverages and gelato. We stopped by twice yesterday, when we visited Tiburon on our way to Angel Island State Park - first before our ferry ride, for gelato and mochas, then after our return, for cookies, sandwiches, chais and more gelato! The kids enjoyed the gelatos, and they make excellent mochas and chais. I was a bit mixed on their sandwiches - the toasted caprese was excellent, a couple of the other sandwiches less so. Seating is plentiful and they are covid-friendly in their protocols. Bathrooms were clean and well maintained. We ate outdoors and were pleased with the service - prompt and friendly. I eat a lot of tuna and this place is up there to some of my favorites out there. The fish wasn't fishy and not even salty as well. So if anyone that sensitive to sodium overly this might be a good sandwich for you if you like tuna. My boyfriend had the turkey panini it was good very standard. They had lunch sandwiches on display similar to places as such in italy This place can be crowded when the ferry unloads. Yes, there are some lines at these times. However, they have a reasonable approach to dealing with this. I think some of the folks who complain about slow service are trying to catch a ferry. At $16, the plate only came with the sandwich, with no salad or fries or chips that would usually accompany the meal, and it also made the plate look ridiculously empty. Cafe Acri is a popular coffee shop right in the middle of downtown Tiburon. It serves as the main rest stop for bikers in their bright spandex and tourists alike. They offer an ice water dispenser and two gender-neutral restrooms. Despite the large seating area inside and on the patio, the place fills up quickly. Prices tend to be on the high side given the area. A $6 single scoop of gelato is pricey, but very refreshing on a hot day after hiking around Angel Island. I recommend coconut! Drinks are OK - bold and smooth Americano, though my wife's Hazelnut Oat Milk Latte was more bitter than sweet. The mini plain biscotti was less successful - hard and flavorless. Should have opted for their $5 almond croissant! Cafe Acri misses two other features that I value in a top-end coffee shop: free wifi and charging outlets. Stopped here for some gelato after a hike at angel island. It was pretty busy on a Friday afternoon but they served our large group quickly. Sadly they ran out of the pistachio flavor by the time we got there. I tried the espresso and the kalua almond. Both were creamy and flavorful! I liked that the espresso wasn't too sweet. The Mocha Chip gelato was on the sweet side, but hit the spot on a warm day. Our large group was kindly kicked out after our alloted time was reached at a nearby restaurant. So we saw this place and decided on an afternoon coffee. This place is super chill, and with the surrounding area, it really did feel like we were in some European cafe. Kinda wish we had more view of the water though. Ordered up some drip coffee and a biscotti. Coffee was okay, but wished I got a proper coffee mug though instead of a paper cup. Biscotti was soft. Not sure if it was supposed to be, since all other ones I've had before were hard and made for dipping. Maybe Italian ones are soft?? I later ordered a gelato since everyone seemed to be ordering it. Got the spumoni and let me tell you - you gots to try it. It's really good. Thoroughly enjoyed it on this warm summer afternoon. Lots of bikers in the area so I reckon it's a nice place to ride. Stores were still closed but this little coffee shop was bustling with breakfast eaters and cyclists stopping for food or a drink. The line went pretty quick. You could sit inside or outside. Masks were optional for customers. Employees weren't wearing masks. Social distancing kind of being followed, it depended on how close the person behind you was standing. ‍ I had an Americano (piping hot!) and a chocolate-dipped almond biscotti. The chocolate melted easily into my Americano and gave it some good chocolatey flavor. Both were perfect for this cool morning. My coffee and breakfast burrito was, just as I described Cali., flavorless and expensive. The server, if you can call them that, was eye rolling like she didn't want me there. We arrived it seems right after the 3 pm ferry from San Francisco and the line was 10-12 deep. The staff seems a bit overwhelmed by the sudden surge but handled well with a smile and helpfulness. Se stopped by this cafe after lunch. They have their cashier near the doorway & are not yet allowing customers inside. (6/29). They also have gelato (yum!) I have the Lemon Cookie which was REALLY quite delicious, as well as an iced latte. I did not add any sweetener to my latte & it was really smooth.
