Caffe Acri is a gem in Tiburon we have visited on numerous occasions while exploring the area or having lunch at Sam's (currently closed for renovations) or picking up spices from The Spicery a few blocks away. We arrived it seems right after the 3 pm ferry from San Francisco and the line was 10-12 deep. The staff seems a bit overwhelmed by the sudden surge but handled well with a smile and helpfulness. It is worth the short wait! If you are biking, walking, driving, yachting to Tiburon its a MUST stop to sit outside and soak up the glorious sunshine while nibbling on a fresh pastry, cookie and baked good sipping on a cappuccino! Se stopped by this cafe after lunch. They have their cashier near the doorway & are not yet allowing customers inside. (6/29). They also have gelato (yum!) I have the Lemon Cookie which was REALLY quite delicious, as well as an iced latte. I did not add any sweetener to my latte & it was really smooth. It's possible it was made with a cream but it could have just been whole milk. Either way it was both beautiful & delicious. read more

Food is excellent and the pizza special (pinsa) was superb! The gluten free pinsa beats the Waypoint gluten free pizza next door 100 to -1! This is the place to go for gluten free pizza! My wife had a regular pizza and she also said it tasted way better than the ones from Waypoint. Breakfast here is a tad on the high side of cost but very good also. TL;Dr super cute cafe, over priced burnt latte Cafe Acri is right in the heart of all the touristy attractions. Their decor and layout of the store was really cute and a bit quaint. There's seating indoors and out. The staff were pretty friendly, but many of them seemed confused like it was their first day. I got a latte for a little pick me up after a short hike in Tiburon. I paid $5 for a latte, which is higher than the average price of top notch coffee places that serve amazing coffee. My espresso, however, was burnt and the milk was steamed way over the normal temp. Coffee is mediocre at best. Cream for coffee was sitting outside by the window soaking in the sun. Banana bread smelled like old bananas and half baked. 2* because they probably pay shit tonne of rent to be close to the ferry - do us all a favor and sell the place to deserving owners who know how to run a cafe. read more

A short walk thru town and you are there right smack at the end of a little pier area with an incredible view of the bay area. Friendly window service (Covid-19) and everyone is masked up. Actually, every single person we saw in Tibuton was masked up - thank you!! I had the Peanut Butter Toast - creamy delicious peanut butter and honey slathered over a toasted whole wheat (giant) slice of bread with fresh sliced bananas. Hubby had a perfect blackberry scone. Points for the very convenient location next to the ferry wharf at Tiburon. Otherwise... More like a cafeteria than a cafe. It looks good from the street, but on closer inspection the furnishings are worn and noticeably damaged, and the seats were in need of a good clean. My coffee (macchiato) featured burnt, bitter coffee and overly fluffy milk foam. I couldn't finish it. The coconut macaroon was old, soggy, and sickly sweet. Thankfully the complimentary water was icy cold and refreshing. This venue seems complacent, taking advantage of its prime position and not caring about quality and service. There are other cafes and restaurants in Tiburon: next time I'll go elsewhere. read more

This place is a gem! We walked over from The Lodge for some coffee and breakfast. I didn't get the name of the guy who was helping us but he was super nice, patient, and helpful. I got their french toast which was BOMB! My husband got their breakfast burrito with sausage. I'm a coffee addict and their hazelnut latte was also really good! I went here with the family to get some quick eats after getting off the Angel Island Ferry. I got the Mango smoothie and some Pistachio Gelato. Both were fantastic. There was room to sit inside, but opted to sit outside. There were adequate tables and garbage cans for the outdoors. read more

This is a super cute café which is located in the heart of all the tourist attractions. The best part about this café is they have a wonderful outside view. Inside is pretty nice too. But if you are in Tiburon in a perfect weather, you would love to sit outside and watch the breeze, do people watching, enjoy the beautiful outdoor plants. Anyways, we purchase gelato here. I bought the raspberry gelato which was good. I was not impressed with the girl server. She was rude and everyone standing in the line were unimpressed with her attitude. However, there were two other gentlemen working there. They did notice her attitude and came over to help out they rest of us. It's one of the nicer coffee shops in Marin County, but it doesn't have the best tasting food. There are several other options for food that are better in Tiburon. However, the atmosphere is nice, the coffee is good, the service is good, and the prices aren't outlandish. The view is pretty good from within the coffee shop itself, but it gets much better once you walk out of the coffee shop and go to the Shoreline Park. This is a very popular spot for cyclists during the weekend mornings. Beware the long lines for the bathroom on these mornings. There's also a nice seating area outside if you can get a table. It's kid friendly to, but they may prefer the candy shop right next door. Tiburon has a lot to offer, many of the places have a good views. If you are looking for a cafe in Tiburon with a view, this is the place to go. read more

Original Review - 9/15/07 As with everything else in Tiburon, the prices are just a tad over the top, but generally this is an ok coffee shop. I love their pastries and their soup and sandwiches always seem to hit the spot. I did have breakfast there one day with a friend and, although we ordered together, somehow they just forgot to fix hers. So, by the time I had finished mine, hers finally showed up. They were apologetic, but didn't cut us any break on the bill . . . . basically we each ate alone. Since we'd met there to have breakfast together it was a little frustrating. Food was good, but so is the food at my house, if I want to eat alone. And a lot less expensive. I had a similar experience with another friend. We stopped in for a little ice cream to take out in the sunshine and chat. The guy behind the counter fixing the cups of cream obviously was doing this for the first time. He was very nervous. For $3 or $3.50 paid per scoop my friend was handed a cup with less than a whole scoop. She looks at this tiny drab of ice cream in the bottom of her cup and asked him to please at least give her a whole scoop for that much money. Didn't blame her. I did receive a whole scoop, but even that seemed like I was cheated for that much money. I can buy a half gallon of ice cream 1/2 block down at the grocery store for the same price. And there wasn't even a cone. Other than a little over-expensive treats and some not-so-good service, generally this place is okay. It certainly has one of the best locations and views in town. Right next to the ferry landing. Notice I didn't mention the coffee / latte / cappucino? It's neither bad, nor good . . . they do have it . . . and I occasionally drink it, but . . . Not ashamed to admit 75% of my bike rides are to Tiburon's paradise loop. Caffe Acri does a great job of catering to cyclists. Plenty of outdoor seating and you can't miss the DOZENS of bikes lined up outside. If you have something againg cyclists this is not the place to go (though most cyclists eat outside so they can keep an eye on their bikes) . I love their prosciutto sandwich as well as their princess cake. Other great thing about Acri is you can enjoy your sandwich on the lawn with views of SF or catch a bite before you hope on the ferry. read more

This is the perfect oasis for the weekend warrior cyclist. They are very cordial about coming in helmet on, bike parked outside. In fact, they even have racks right outside, although many people just sit outside with their bicycle leaning up on the table next to them. What makes this place stand out though is the friendly service and tasty cafe food. My personal favorites: the two egg dish with the eggs poached. The toast that comes with it is excellent, and it's a healthy breakfast that is the perfect recharge while you are on the paradise loop. Service is very friendly but this place might as well be a 7-11. The food is pre-made and tastes pretty basic. It was windy when we were here so we got coffees. The woman took my order and then immediately gave me the Americano I ordered. I thought, "Already?" I don't remember hearing the espresso machine at all. It was tasteless, so I'm wondering if she gave me a decaf coffee instead. It wasn't busy at all (we were here on a weekday, late afternoon). The first day of Spring turned out to be a timely break from the rains & cold weather. Being a relatively nice day, the girlfriend & I went out for a scenic drive in the roadster with the top down & ended up in Tiburon. After parking & a bit of a stroll with Angel Island, the Golden Gate Bridge & San Francisco across the bay as a backdrop, we came across Caffe Acri just about ready for a snack & some coffee. The girlfriend was actually in the mood for lunch & ordered a goat cheese/ veggie sandwich while I just had a muffin & mocha. I tried a bite of the sandwich & it was just okay. My muffin was just okay. My mocha took a really long time, or did it? After waiting for longer than it should take to make a mocha & not really seeing a lot of action around the espresso machine, I went up to the counter to ask about my mocha. Only after seeing me walking up, the barista decided to call out that a mocha was made. So after the wait & enigmatic customer service, would the mocha be worth it? No. The mocha lacked any distinct coffee flavor. The mocha lacked chocolate flavor. I'm not sure what else to expect from a mocha. I'm also not sure what the purpose is of a cafe that can't serve a good coffee drink. Just like the well known phrase regarding real estate, it seems Caffe Acri must rely on one precious asset for the majority its business: location, location, location. Perfectly nestled between the ferry station & Tiburon's ridiculously cute downtown, this is a dream spot for any restaurant. It's hard for me to imagine Caffe Acri surviving at any other less wonderful location. read more

One of my favorite go to spots if I'm working from home in Marin or need a warm coffee when riding the loop. Nice coffee and cakes, nice people and a great warm environment. You won't feel like you're in a cafe cave with windows on two walls and the Marin sun outside. At busy times it does get a bit touristy, but at the odd hours of the week its a peaceful place to enjoy your lunch of afternoon coffee. the coffee is just fine, the pastries are nice, and they have some wonderful warm sandwiches. There are salads and yogurts for the health conscious patrons and gelato and flavored coffees for those who are not. The two things that stand out for me are the Goat Cheese and tomato baguette sandwich and their Tiramisu Cake which is just the prefect thing to go along with your coffee. If you are looking for a nice casual cafe and you're in the area this is the place for you, and if you're looking for a new rout on your road ride put it as a way point on your paradise loop ride. read more
