Hidden spot I always forget about. Lunch is a bit crowde with Tam HS kids but was worth waiting.

I've been to Suzette before and came back for lunch on a recent visit to Sausalito. Seated outside…read moreimmediately, gorgeous day, great view... solid start. The food was delicious like I remembered. I ordered the moules marinières (the same as last time) and was happy I did. Mussels were good-sized and nicely steamed, the broth was excellent... just wish they'd provided more than one slice of bread with the dish because there was a lot of good sauce left to soak it up. My friend had the oeuf à la coque and loved it, especially the truffle butter. The one downside was that we had no silverware or napkins at the table. The waiter did not notice, nor did we until we went to start eating and had to get his attention to bring us settings. The drinks were another story. I ordered a non-alcoholic wine and after waiting some time, was told they didn't have it. I was offered to see the drink menu again and the waiter said he'd bring it right to me but must have gotten sidetracked because he forgot, and I had to flag him down. I decided on a vodka flight since the vodkas are distilled and bottled by the owners and thought it was worth a try... the French wheat, Espelette chili, and Williams pear. Food arrived before the drinks did. The waiter came back and asked me again what vodkas I had ordered. When the flight finally showed up I'm pretty sure all three were the Espelette chili despite me ordering three different ones. It wasn't worth the time to confirm as we had to catch the ferry back to San Francisco, but noted here as it was disappointing. Little cards naming each vodka would be a nice touch... though it wouldn't have helped much in my case. Also, a proper tasting set instead of three loose glasses would help too. Hopefully this was just a one-off. Still a cute spot worth stopping at if you're spending time in Sausalito.

Right when I came in I just knew it was good and I got to ordering Parking is pretty open and convenient so it was easy to walk right over. I ordered on the kiosk which makes it easier and gives me more time to look at items. I kept it simple and got a strawberry lemonade which was very good and also in cute packaging. The interior of this place felt like I was in Dubai or something because of the gold and how fancy this place looks lol overall I love it and the music playing.

My new favorite go to coffee spot in Marin, especially if I am in downtown San Rafael…read more I tried two things I have never eaten before, and they both changed my world. I don't say that lightly. I'll start with Arabic light roast coffee that was a golden color and infused with cardamom. It was exactly what I was looking for that day. It tasted great, and it gave me to pick me up. I needed for the rest of the afternoon. I have never seen coffee that color. It was delightful. As for the fatayer, it is basically the Yemeni version of an empanada. I am very much a savory breakfast person, so this was a special treat. The spices were amazing, and it was cooked to perfection. This is one of the items you can see in the display case that they warm up for you on the spot. There were also many desserts and other food options. I should also note that I ordered on a large tablet display, which included several different drink, and food options. Honestly, the menu was a little bit overwhelming given the number of choices, but it also makes me think that there is so much more that I need to try next time. I needed to get some work done, so I sa myself down on the very comfortable couch, which conveniently contained a Wi-Fi password stuck to the edge of the adjacent table. It was very chill, and if I didn't have an appointment to get you I certainly could've stayed there all day. I am excited to try some other things on the menu and continue to support this local business.

The sandwich itself was wonderful, but I would recommend spreading the chicken salad out over the entire bread. It was garnished with a little green and some pickles on the side. When I went back after leaving, they swapped the scone for the muffin but was surprised to watch them put the scone right back on display after I left and came back with it (seems like a questionable food hygiene choice). They did microwave the quiche for me... surprised they didn't have some for of oven. Honestly, none of it was good and after picking at it I threw most of the $22 order in the trash. An expensive waste of money. Additionally, they were calling someone a "puta" (a vulgar insult for a b*** or wh***) directly in front of me. Like just because I'm not Latino doesn't mean I can't speak Spanish. Very poor customer experience with immature / unprofessional staff. The ambience is similar to any other cafe.

The place is clean, with plenty of seating both inside and outside, and there is a large selection of pastries, scones, breads, and grab-and-go items. My go-to has been the ham and cheese croissant, which was fresh both mornings. The coffee was also nice and hot, which I always appreciate. The staff is professional and efficient, though clearly busy, so do not expect a lot of chit-chat. I also picked up a box of Cheese Coins, which turned out to be dangerous because I loved them and ate the whole box. Good coffee, fresh pastries, easy seating, and enough tempting extras to make you buy more than you planned. I will probably stop by again tomorrow morning before leaving the area.

I'm not a regular and was unfamiliar with the process but it seemed disorganized. I was given a number. I noticed an ice tea on the counter and asked if it was for me. A little later, the pastry was bagged and on the counter in a different place. Finally, I saw a bag and asked. Yep. The sandwich. I felt like a dummy for not understanding how the system worked, but also was annoyed that I tipped 20% for a takeout order and it was delivered piecemeal with no way for me to carry it. A kind person who watch the whole thing offered me her bag. If not for her, I would have had a sandwich in a loose paper wrap, a bun in a small bag, and a cup. The sandwich was okay. It had two slices of bread, not the traditional three. The turkey was clearly deli meat, not fresh roasted, the lettuce was wilted immediately, the tomato slice was good, and the avocado slice was good. The bacon was sparse, as was the deli meat. My husband didn't eat much of it. He liked the cinnamon roll. But for the money, he didn't want to have food from there again.
