They catered our wedding for about 100 people and we couldn't have asked for better service! The food and pasta was made ON SITE and they provided all the service, plates and needs we could have asked for to make one happy bride/ groom. Everyone was well fed, with options for all dietary needs. We went back for a nice dine in experience and everything was delicious. Solid four star restaurant. We sat outside in the shade. Lovely space. Servers were very friendly. We tried Brussels sprouts which were crisped and then sauced with apples and bleu cheese. Delicious. We had pasta with clams - lots of tender little clams and a light wine sauce - and a pork chop special. The chop was excellent but the sides were meh. Overall lovely spot with nice service. I normally love this place so I feel bad for writing a bad review. Alas, I made a reservation tonight for NYE dinner. The place was packed which is great (I'm always glad to see local businesses doing well). However, after we got our drinks, we waited for 50 minutes and no one came by to take our food order. We ended up trying to flag someone down to pay for our drinks and then we sadly left to find food elsewhere. We did get free drinks, but no NYE meal. read more

Café Arrivederci's service was very personable and attentive. I ordered the Ravioli di Spinaci--the pasta was done perfectly al dente and the tangy Meyer lemon cream sauce was absolutely delirious. My companion chose the rigatoni and a Pinot Grigio. Toward the end of our meal, a live guitarist was softly playing. Nice touch! On a hot Sunday night, our party of six dined at Arrivederci. We have been here a few times but I don't remember their food and service lacking. First, there is one server for the entire restaurant. This means she takes the orders and checks up on you. She will bring the dishes with a helper and that's it. There were about 8 tables inside and a couple of patrons outside. She did the rounds alright but I feel for her. Next, the AC here does not work. It would have been better to sit outside as maybe there will be some breeze. We have asked to turn up the AC but it didn't do any good. For food....oh gosh. The food is ok, I remember it being good before. If you look at the pics, the black ink risotto looks un- appetizing and it was also not good. This was their special dish for the day. Do not get it. I am hoping this time was a fluke. read more

We have had our staff party here for 2 years in a row and both experiences were amazing! This year we had Julia as our hostess and she was very helpful, cheerful and welcoming! I ordered the special which was the (forgot the name) spaghetti with mussels, clams, and lobster in a creamy red sauce. I also had Mexican love as my cocktail which has Mezcal in it so if you are into Mezcal you will like the hint of spice and smokey-ness to it! My food was AMAZING! The lobster is sweet and juicy! The mussels and clams tasted fresh and the sauce compliments so well! I also tried my colleagues' food : the Gnocchi was tender and savory, the Ravioli ala Arrivederci was also sooo good! Its sweet and savory and the butternut squash with bits of prosciutto in it gives that great balance! We had a large crowd so we were in a private room which was great because we were able to celebrate my birthday and do our exchange gifts! The room was cozy and spacious! Had lunch at Arrivederci today catching up with old friends. Time flew and it was 4:30 before we left. We never felt rushed, although we totally overstepped our boundaries. They are so gracious. Margherita pizza was AMAZING I'd go back just for that any time. The service was very poor but I think it was because there was a big party in the room inside. First time that I come after it closed now with Brunch menu on Saturday and Sundays from 11:00am to 2:00 pm I tried this Benedict's which were delicious , I'm a Benedict's Lover and they are simply delicious . The house potatoes that accompanied the Benedict's had a very unique flavor compared to other places . Food is very good ( I had a French toast for dessert but I ate it before the pics ) Customer service was great out waitress was very friendly and recommended our dessert and was delicious ! I've been eating there for at least 25 years. It's always good or better. But, ate there the other night. Food was great, although our Caesar salad was no where as good as usual. Old lettuce , with what tasted like bottled dressing. Their dressing had always been good. The service was less than 10%. tip. We were seated right away, waiter took our order for bottle of wine before we ordered. 15 minutes later we got it. He just put bottle on table and we poured our own. We asked for ice bucket, after 10 minutes we finally asked busboy for one, We ran out of water asked for more, again 10 minutes or more later we asked again and finally got it. The place was not crowded, or that busy. Just an inefficient waiter. But he got the bill to us quickly. We usually go there once, sometimes twice a month. I love going to Arrivederci. The restaurant is a hidden gem in San Rafael. The restaurant is well-appointed and spacious. It has a wonderful happy hour with choices of wine and spirits. I have eaten here several times with a group and with friends. The service is friendly and good. If the bar is full, they allow you to sit in other areas of the restaurant. There are a couple of different rooms, a small banquet room that seats about 15 or 20 and the outside patio is very nice, has a friendly setting, and has pergola awnings. The Lasagna is to die for and can easily be eaten for 2 meals. The pizza has generous sausage with added mushrooms and other ingredients. It worth the visit. read more

We have been going to Cafe Arrivederci for at least 20-25 years. We Had reservations, waited 10-15 minutes to be sat. Busboy delivered water and bread, we were never even greeted by a waiter for 35 minutes. When he finally arrived We asked to see the wine list, Our Waiter didn't return for another 10 minutes. When he returned we let him know that we were very disappointed and would not be staying any longer. We did see the manager which we believe is the owner, I let her know what had happened, not even an apology. So we went to Via Piccola Trattoria which is owned by the ex-manager of Cafe Arrivederci. Found this place with my siblings on our bonding trip and the food and ambiance were great! We sat outside, since it was a nice and sunny day, not windy at all. For the appetizer, we chose the brussel sprouts that had apples, Gorgonzola cheese, olive oil, and squeezed lemon. The combination was overall savory with a hint of tartness from the lemon - something I'd try to replicate at home for myself one day. The only thing I was disappointed with was the stem/stalk(?) of some brussel sprouts because they were still hard and I almost choked on them. For my main course, I ordered the pappardelle con funghi because I love mushrooms. The overall dish tasted really good and it didn't disappoint at all! For dessert, we shared the tiramisu and the sweetness was just the right amount, since I don't eat as much sweets anymore. My siblings inhaled it, so they definitely enjoyed it!
