Ever since this place changed owners... it's gone down hill. I stopped coming here for a while and just recently went back. This was my second time coming back and the food was ok. Not great. But, ok. The price is kinda high for the kind of food they serve. But what really got me today was the whole staff scrubbing the floors!!! I was sitting there eating with my kids. And I noticed them moving chairs and tables. Ok... We continue to eat and I noticed that they are really going at it! There was about 5-6 people just scrubbing and mopping. It was just weird because it was 4-4:30. Why do it during the day when customers are there?! Then they started mopping by the door... then moving closer and closer to where we were sitting. At that point we just got up and left. You do not clean your floors like that when customers are there. Close down the place for a hour or two! I don't want to see that. What if we didn't get up? Would they mop around us? And what if someone fell?! The timing for that deep clean was wrong. I will not be coming back here. read more

So I'm going cheap with my stars..This would have been four stars.. Hey wait a sec, this place looks familiar! The Pit Stop Diner was originally founded by the same family that runs The Money Pit in San Marcos, allegedly. But the Pit Stop was sold to the new owner a few years ago. It still resembles the Money Pit in many ways, both in decor and food. Overall the food was pretty good, on par with The Money Pit. Burgers were great and my chicken burritos, a unique spin on basically putting a chicken wrap into a burrito, worked for me. I enjoyed it. Kids meals were also enjoyed. I recently had lunch at this location. I haven't stopped here for a while (since the start of the pandemic situation). New owner, GREAT service! The food has always been good and reasonably priced, but what put this visit over the top was the service. All of the staff were on-point and focused to provide an amazing level of customer focus. At one point, Alex the owner came out from behind the front order desk to check on their guests. He took a moment to tell me about his acquisition of this location and how much of a challenge it had been to stay open during the pandemic. Even to the point of being the ONLY employee on-site for a long stretch of that time. So this is a very delayed review. We have ordered from this Diner a couple of times. Both times e through door dash. Unfortunately I have not had the opportunity to stop in and have the true experience. I must mention I'm from the East Coast, which means, Diner food is one of my FAVORITE. I can also mention that it did not last, he ate the whole meal with the hashbrowns in a hot second lol. I had biscuits and gravy as my side which I split with him, which definitely hit the spot. As a side order to split for later in the day we got a Bacon Avocado wrap. And man oh man was it absolutely delicious. So previously, (March 18th) we ordered a Triple Cheeseburger, Jimbos Swiss Melt, Avocado Bacon Burger, and a Caesar Salad. That Avocado Bacon Burger [I must mention I'm a burger loving fool ]. So more than most times you get a ridiculous ratio that doesn't allow you to truly enjoy your Burger. Its either to much bread, not enough patty, or a huge mess that is just ugh! (Hope you know what I mean) but this Burger I got was absolutely perfect. I promise next time I'll have pictures haha. The Swiss Melt was definitely enjoyed by my boyfriend and the Triple Cheeseburger was enjoyed by the little man. Ok, this is surprising even me-- their burgers rival In-n-Out with a much larger selection. This could easily become my new favorite burger joint! I ordered the Pit Stop burger- basically a cheeseburger with bacon, avocado, and mushrooms-- full of flavor. I ordered a side of zucchini fries and didn't realize that it's a full order that is designed to be shared between 2-3 people, so I couldn't finish half of them-- they were very crispy on the outside and soft and fresh on the inside. My girls all had regular cheeseburgers and fries- all very fresh and juicy. They also had milkshakes (one was oreo cookies and the other was a chocolate cherry) that my girls love them. Nice serving of fries for both options... Costumer service was professional and super friendly. I enjoy their self serve Beverage stations. Only issue was when I was ordering for my 4 year old the cashier didn't warn me that not getting a breakfast plate and just ordering two sides of bacon and hash browns would cost more then a breakfast plate. Our organization used the back room for a meeting today. I reserved the room weeks ago, it was so easy to do. It was crowded at 11am so that tells you the food here is good. We stood in line to place our order. Every employee was very nice, smiling and accommodating. Within minutes, they brought our food. I got the pastrami and fried zucchini; decent portions and delicious. Enough left to take home. Everyone in our group enjoyed their food. Great food! I had a triple patty Pit Stop Burger and it was delicious!!!! I was a little bummed that it didn't come with fries or a side for $13 so just the burger. You can get a 3x3 from in and out for $6. My wife had the 4 piece chicken tender meal, this came with fries, fried zucchini and a couple of onion rings, lots of food for the price!! The fries were pretty soggy BUT we had them delivered so that may have been the issue there. The RANCH was insanely good, they sent plenty with the order. As soon as you walk in, it's like a stepping into a 50's Cars diner! Super cute decor with license plates, hub caps, and Chevy pics all over. Not to mention a car and some gas pumps in the middle of the restaurant and a working stop light! Next, the service was great and the cashier was very helpful with helping us decide what to order since it was our first time there. You walk up to the counter, order from a menu of breakfast all day, burgers, sandwiches, steak, chicken, salads, or shakes for dessert! Prices are super reasonable, even if you want to upcharge something like getting onion rings instead of fries with a combo meal. Then you get a number and get to choose where you'd like to sit or you can take out. They have two large and long high top tables so you can definitely bring a big party. There's a soda machine with coke options, tea, and lemonade. They also serve coffee with flavored creamers. Lastly and most importantly, the food was fabulously delicious! We both had cheeseburgers, mine was the regular cheeseburger that comes with 1000 dressing and normal veggies; and my husband got the outlaw burger which came with bbq sauce, bacon, and onion rings on it. We both got combo meals so onion rings with mine and chili cheese fries with my husbands and we each got drinks.
