Say whaaaaaaaat?!? Pine Isle is great! We had seen some excrement reviews and wanted to give them a try. We headed down to Dallas one only part way there we found out it is take out only. Not discouraged we continued on only to find some delightful picnic tables with nice umbrellas which is a great spot to enjoy the delicious food here. We had the Poke Nachos which were fresh, well seasoned, and absolutely outstanding. We also had the Kalbi plate and this is one of the best versions I have ever had. The service was friendly and quick enough considering you can watch them make everything to order. Fantastic spot and more than worth the trip! Highly Reccommended!

I've been here a few times and the food has always been great! I can't eat poke right now, so I'm glad they have plenty of cooked options on the menu. I recently tried the short ribs, and they were pretty good! I usually order online for pickup since it's much faster and more convenient than ordering in person.

What to say other than this is incredible! I went one day for lunch after seeing their limited business hours. I drove 30 minutes to make it there and ate in the parking lot since it is primarily a to go establishment. I had kimchi fries and the fried chicken plate. Next time I will ask for a meat on top of the kimchi fries. I did not give any of the poke, but maybe next time! I certainly recommend you for this into your day when you have time!

This is the spot!!! After hearing nothing but great reviews about this place I finally came around to trying it and it's definitely going to be my new go-to. I got the poke nachos with the creamy and shoyu salmon. It comes with crab salad, edamame, tobiko, and sauce on top of wonton chips (add avocado!). It was so fresh and not fishy at all. The salmon was cut in big cubes and they gave generous portions! The chips also didn't get soggy and weren't greasy. I'll definitely have to try their other menu options!

The closest thing to Hawaiian poke! Fish so fresh. BIG PORTION. Everything just delicious and fresh and flavorful. Always went there when i was super hungry and yet still couldnt finish it. Service abit slow, but they are all super friendly. I would recommend yall to order online in advance instead. And pick it up! If you ordered your food there, expect the waits around 20-30 min. The place is super cute, you can sit outside and enjoy the food. No sitting inside the building tho. We enjoyed the food in our car. Packaging is solid so I wont leaked or anything. Absolutely recommended!! It's becoming our weekly routine trip.

We were finally able to check this place out. Super cute little spot, there's not too much of an area to dine it but there are a few seating options outside. This is definitely a pick up and take home kind of thing. The way the food was packaged was very good. The containers are sturdy and make it easy for transport. The people working there were very friendly upon walking in and the pick up was seamless. The food is hands down amazing. The shrimp was my favorite along with the lumpia. Go check it out, you won't regret it.

We stopped here for lunch and I am so glad we did. I got the poke bowl with creamy ahi tuna and shoyu salmon, and my boyfriend got the teriyaki beef. The poke was so fresh and yummy!! I tried some of the teriyaki beef and it was delicious. It also came with a little side salad and macaroni. I will probably order that the next time I go. Service was quick and friendly. Will definitely be back.

Ever since the first time I tried this place in Dallas, I've made it a goal to have it every time I visit. It's really that good! It reminds me of Hawaii. The poke is so fresh and delicious. If you can only order one thing, you gotta try to garlic shrimp, it reminds me of the famous Giovanni's (iykyk). So flavorful, and every bite keeps you wanting more. I enjoyed the mochiko chicken, but it definitely could be crispier. If you have tried Pine Isle, wyd? Run, don't walk.

Absolutely one of the best Hawaiian spots in DFW. It is a takeout spot; so, don't expect to sit down and eat inside - there are sitting outside if any are available. Workers are moving fast and doing their best to prepare orders especially hot foods as fast as possible - never had to wait too long even when I was ordering 3 different hot foods plus pokes. Even despite 25min travel time, the food taste so good. You can even ask for sauce on side, which does make your eating experience even better personally. I've tried a lot of their menu and my 3 favorites are Nacho Poke, Miso Salmon, and Mochiko Chicken. I know, you are probably thinking their poke is not even in top 3? It is good, just those 3 were even better. & Trust me with nacho poke.

Left poke order: shoyu salmon & creamy spicy ahi w/ half salad & half rice on the side Right poke: shoyu salmon & shoyu ahi w/ half salad & half rice on the side Coming out to be $34.64 for 2 regular pokes not including tip yet. Food always hit! My boyfriend lovessss this place and we both agree that this reminds us of poke from hawaii! Order this online and it was ready for pick up right when i got there! Service was amazing. The staff are truly so kind and helpful. I was in and out within 1 minute. This is the third time being here since it's a bit of a drive. Wed probably go once a week if it was closer to us tbh! We typically like to order online since it's faster. This place is more of a takeout style shop so it's a tight waiting area which is why we togo now! There's also seating outside but very limited.

I really didn't expect much but was pleasantly surprised! Came here with some friends per their recommendation. I haven't had poke since moving to DFW area. They sang the praises of this restaurant, especially considering that the fish is regularly flown out from Hawaii. I ordered. It was a bowl mix with one of the salmon and tuna options. It took a bit of time. About 20 minutes. Nonetheless, well worth the wait. Alongside the poke, there was crab salad, edamame, seaweed salad, and half mix greens and rice. Everything by itself was delicious. Together... oh my goodness. I am literally salivating as I'm thinking about it. I can't write more. Otherwise, I will embarrasingly drool on my desk and keyboard. Highly recommend.

My daughter wanted to hit up this place on our way home from Dallas to Houston. Mind you I am not in line to Poke on road trips.... Service was great they have 2 fish options , Tuna and salmon- 2 ways. I am not a fan of Tuna because it's a bloodier fish so it you can taste the iron and I don't particularly like the texture. (Still not a fan but it was really good tuna). The salmon had skin on which I'm not usually inclined to, but the fish was so fresh and the prep was done so beautifully that you can't go wrong- it was like butter. Don't plan to sit inside- take it to go or sit at the benches on the side of the building. I like the concept from a business perspective because they are focused on the product and customer service not having to worry about clean up bussing tables etc. they focus on their food. We got poke bowls, macaroni and the canned drink. For $16 it's a very generous portion I have to tell you, it's not a stingy serving. Haven't had really good poke in a while and I love that they are not asking you to build your bowl you can add and subtract but they know how it tastes good no decisions required

Right now, on my highly curated list of the 25 best BBQ spots in all of Texas, Cattleack sits at #12--so obviously I had to try it, especially because it's literally down the street from my new place. I knew how that line could get, so I pulled up at 10:05 AM . Basically had BBQ for breakfast. And since I plan on hitting ALL 25 spots on my list, I made sure I tasted a little bit of everything so I could give it a proper review. First test: THE RIBS. I'm from St. Louis. Ribs are always going to be one of my first tests of whether somebody can really throw down on the BBQ pit. I got a whole pound, and they were GREAT. Passed the test. Then came the Toddfather sandwich... WHEWWWW. Brisket, smoked sausage AND pulled pork all on one sandwich. My God. So good. To finish off the meat test, I got one big piece of fatty brisket. Excellent. Exactly what I wanted. Now the sides... The mac & cheese was surprisingly GOOD. And if you know Texas BBQ, you know finding a BBQ spot with mac & cheese that can actually hold its own isn't always easy. The burnt-end baked beans had a great smoky flavor, but there were almost TOO many burnt ends in them . I was like damn, can I get some beans too?! Still good though. And finally, the banana pudding? FIRE. It was like a fancy version because it had a toffee flavor to it. Cattleack absolutely delivered. Love the vibes inside and out. This is officially a Ken's Approved Restaurant and earns the KenStar of Approval. 12 down... the journey through Texas BBQ continues.

I read about the long lines and the lack of parking, but when I visited, it was maybe an hour before they closed, so I was actually able to find parking right outside the front door, and there was no line. There were also plenty of seating inside. When I got there, they were out of certain items, but that was expected since they are in high demand. Since it was just me, I ordered half a pound of brisket and half a pound of ribs along with a side of mac and cheese. To be honest, it did not live up to its hype. The brisket was a little dry, and for how much they charge per pound, I was expecting more meat than fat. The ribs were my favorite, and the mac and cheese was ok too. I got my order to go, and they only gave me a few sandwich bread slices and like 2 small containers of pickles. I think next time IF i go and IF i happen to be in the area i will try to eat inside that way I can get more of the bread/pickles because i love those on my BBQ.

We ordered half a pound of brisket, a jalapeno popper, with mac and cheese. The popper was incredible. Creamy filling inside, wrapped in that sweet candied bacon with a smoky, slightly Cajun flavor. The mac and cheese had a nice spicy kick too and was super comforting. But the brisket... WOW. Tender doesn't even explain it. The meat practically fell apart. It was juicy and had that deep BBQ flavor. And those little pieces of fat, those were my favorite. They melted into the meat and made every bite richer and almost buttery. Then I accidentally parked in the wrong spot while going to get my nails done, looked up, and saw Hurtado. Clearly, lunch was meant to happen! I ordered the three-meat plate with brisket, ribs, and poblano sausage, plus bacon ranch potato salad, macaroni and cheese, and tater tot casserole. I'll admit, I wondered whether all the extras in the sides might be doing too much. Well, after bringing everything home and digging in, I can say it absolutely worked. The ribs were tender and delicious, with great barbecue flavor. The poblano sausage was amazing! I've had jalapeño cheddar sausage before, but this was something different and so good. The brisket had a wonderful smoky flavor, although it wasn't quite as tender as I expected on my first serving. It had cooled down some by the time I got home, and when I reheated it for round two, it was much more tender. Next time, I'll ask whether I can get a leaner cut, just as a personal preference. Now, the sides deserve their own moment. The bacon ranch potato salad had a finely mashed texture, with delicious bacon and green onions on top. Chef's kiss! The macaroni and cheese had spiral pasta, a little jalapeño heat, and such a creamy, delicious sauce. I've never had any quite like it. The tater tot casserole was another winner. It reminded me a little of Cracker Barrel's hash brown casserole, but with a smoky, bacon-like flavor and a much finer potato texture. My first thought was, "Is this cauliflower?" It wasn't--it was just a different texture than I expected, and oh my goodness, it was good. Even the bread had that sweet, Hawaiian-style taste that I love. I'm picky about barbecue sauce, so I wasn't sure what to expect there either. This one was sweet with a hint of Tex mex flavor and a little something different in the seasoning that worked so well with the barbecue. I loved it. The portions were generous, especially the sides, and my takeout container was full of meat and two slices of bread. Service was quick, too. My food came out about five minutes after I sat down, and they offered me water while I waited. I went in hoping the food would live up to everything I'd heard, and it was even better than I imagined. Everything had its own flavor, and it all came together so well. Now I'm thinking about that meal and already looking forward to going back!

He mentioned the one next to Dallas Farmers Market, which was a 10 minute walk from my hotel and 2 minute walk from V12 yoga studio. I really appreciated the recommendation as it was the best thing I ate during my latest trip. I headed over to Hurtado after taking a Tuesday evening class at V12 Yoga. I strolled into a pretty busy restaurant around 6:45pm. The staff member at the register said there was a private party at 7:30pm, so it was going to get even busier. I realized the place had more than just bbq. I initially went into the restaurant with my heart set on a 1 meat brisket combo. I found that I was in for a treat, because they also offered Tex-Mex. BBQ AND TEX-MEX?! How does one choose one over the other? I decided to get the best of both worlds and ordered the brisket tostada and chips and guac for good measure. The brisket tostada was fantastic, and it was so reasonably affordable. $6-and change for the crispiest tostada shell loaded with fatty brisket (I made the request for fatty), onions, cilantro, and cheese. It well exceeded my expectations and could put nacho plates to shame. Thoroughly enjoyed the chips and guac. The guac tasted fresh, and the chips had a bit of cayenne for a punch of flavor. Bonus points for their tangy, spicy salsa.

Add to that convenience, they have some really delicious BBQ. As for the BBQ, I have tried quite a bit of their offering over the months and I have zero complaints about anything. If dining in, my go to order tends to be the Texas Trinity which consists brisket, spare ribs, sausage and a side of your choice. This makes for a great meal with perhaps a little leftover to take home for later. If I am getting my food to go, I usually get the El Jefe which includes a 1/3 pound each of brisket, pulled pork, spare ribs, turkey, burnt ends plus sausage. It usually gives me enough to eat for a couple of days. Another great option is The Big Papa Potato which is baked potato stuffed with all the trimming along with some of their brisket. The inside seating consists of table/chair combos along with booths which are spread across a couple of indoor dining areas. There is also bar seating available. Lastly, weather permitting, there is a large patio available for outdoor dinning. The staff is always welcoming and they do a great job of managing the line. Orders are placed at the counter and they provide a number which makes it easy for them deliver your food to you once it's ready. Food can also be ordered at the bar, thus skipping the line. I am really glad to see this location found their footing and seem to be thriving. I was a little concerned as the space they moved into has seen several restaurants come and go over the years. Keep up the great job Hurtado's!!!
