Workers are moving fast and doing their best to prepare orders especially hot foods as fast as possible - never had to wait too long even when I was ordering 3 different hot foods plus pokes. Even despite 25min travel time, the food taste so good. You can even ask for sauce on side, which does make your eating experience even better personally. Ever since the first time I tried this place in Dallas, I've made it a goal to have it every time I visit. It's really that good! It reminds me of Hawaii. The poke is so fresh and delicious. I really didn't expect much but was pleasantly surprised! Came here with some friends per their recommendation. I haven't had poke since moving to DFW area. They sang the praises of this restaurant, especially considering that the fish is regularly flown out from Hawaii. I ordered. It was a bowl mix with one of the salmon and tuna options. I always order the poke bowl with salad and rice but decided to try the poke nachos with wasabi octopus and shoyu ahi and I'm so pleased. The wonton chips on delivery where still crispy and not soggy which is a plus but the flavors within the nachos just come together no matter what protein you get. I also order the lumpia which is 10/10, I am no stranger to lumpia. They make it to order and my order took about 14 minutes, I had to just kinda stand there since they don't have anywhere to sit. I dont like that they dont have any indoor seating. They do have picnic tables outside to sit, but when its freezing cold outside, I would need to pick up to go. I got the spam masubi, pretty basic, not much to it. For being the newest authentic poke spot in dallas i thought it was pretty good! When we went, there was a line outside but it didnt take too long and the service was quick and v friendly! Pine Isle lives up to the hype - the menu and quality of the poke feels like someone dug up a shop from Hawaii and plopped it down in east Dallas. I tried the spicy tuna and shoyu salmon, and both types of fish were fresh, well-seasoned with sauce but not overly so. They also have other Hawaiian classics such as kalbi (which is very popular as an entree in HI even though it's Korean), kalua pork, garlic shrimp, and spam musubi. The portions are pretty good for the price ($16 for regular plate/bowl and $18 for large). Note that even if they display a certain type of fish, it may be unavailable: they still had some spicy salmon left in the display case but I was informed I couldn't order any because it was being reserved for online orders, which was slightly disappointing. Orders also take a fairly long time to be completed. It's largely a to-go establishment with only 1 small table inside and 1 outside. And even better take out plastics. They use clear or lightly colored plastic with leak out less toxins than the black ones(most toxins). And yea, when it's busy, there is a line which is normal. This place is hands down the best Hawaiian poke restaurant in Dallas-- no competition. I've been struggling to find a good poke spot to replace Don Don Poke in Plano, and nothing ever came close... until now. It's a 45-minute drive, but my sister hyped it up so much that I finally agreed to go. She actually drove there twice last weekend, but it was sold out just an hour after opening on Saturday. One of the staff members told her it's best to order online since their inventory updates in real time. We placed our order online, and it went through! Just to be safe, we also called the store to double-check before heading out. It was a long drive, but 100000% worth it. I haven't been to Hawaii, but I can tell their poke is as authentic as it gets. At first, I was a little thrown off by the price, since most poke spots I go to are around $14. But once I saw the portions, it all made sense. They did not skimp on the fish, AT ALL. I actually had more fish than rice by the end, which never happens! The shoyu ahi tuna, shoyu salmon, and creamy salmon were all incredibly fresh and delicious. If you like spicy, definitely go for the creamy version. We also tried the kalbi and fried spam musubi; both were made fresh to order with generous portions. The space is small since it's designed for takeout, with just two tables inside and one outside. Luckily, nobody was dining in on this Wednesday night, so we grabbed a table and dug in right away. The place was buzzing with people coming in and out to pick up their orders. I overheard a worker say they only make what they can based on the day's fish delivery, which explains the exceptional freshness. I truly hope business keeps booming so they can open more locations quickly, especially in Plano. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for bringing amazing poke to DFW area. The shop is small, they have two small tables inside and a small table outside, definitely made for more of a take out style poke joint. Poke: for bowls you can get salad, rice, or 1/2. I was so excited to come hear since hearing about it! I was told the lines were long and food sold out quick when it first opened. I will say this restaurant is a lot smaller than I expected, there's only 2 small tables inside and 1 table outside, and most of the space is taken up by the kitchen. I shared the Kalua pork + cabbage plate + 1/2 pound of shoyu salmon with another person and it satisfied us. The food came out really quickly too! We both really enjoyed the food itself, the small side salad and mac salad were good additions to the meat and rice, and at the end we ended up just combining the poke with the leftover rice. When Pine Isle first came to Dallas, you could tell that we were getting quality and freshness we hadn't been used to. I used to dine with them via DoorDash a couple times a month. Their salmon and tuna, at first was very vivid, high grade, and had an incredible depth of flavor. However, my last experience a week or so ago included a poke with very opaque salmon slathered in mayo, the tuna is dull and the sauce no longer has the onion, herbs, and sauce that kept me coming back. The rice was very mushy and warm which med things even more unappetizing. The lumpia and fried spam musubi are still excellent, fortunately, but I feel like should still be able to get the same great experience across the board. Regarding extras, the wonton chips were super stale during my last experience and when you want some more crab or seaweed salad (also a dip in quality) you will only receive about a dime worth in the tiniest ramekins I've ever seen. Please bring back the goodness we were introduced to, otherwise I can't promise I'll return. read more
