This is the place in town to get a quality sandwich! (Think i can say that after trying a competitor just the day before) Anyways.. Fresh bread, fresh ingredients, crafted right in front of you & customize it however you'd like! Friendly staff. East Coast bodega ambiance with a huge variety of sodas and chips to pair with your sandwich! Definitely seems like a local hot spot, with several customers coming in that the staff all recognized. I'd be regular too if I were a local.

    Fresh caught local tuna sandwich

Oh my gosh, I guess this place used to be called the hole in the wall. A lot of locals know it by that. I just moved up here and heard great things about it. Service was quick and detailed. I got a tuna sandwich that was made with tuna that was freshly caught off the coast in Trinidad up here in Humboldt. It was so good. I put sweet and dill pickles on it on the Dutch crunch roll. It was so good. I can't wait to come back and try more variety's. Great drink and chip selection as well. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Cute little shop by the bay.

Very personalized service. Them: "We make our tuna to order. What would you like in your tuna?" Me: "Uh, duh..." Them: "Do you like mayo, salt, pepper, relish, celery...?" The person taking my order over the phone did a lot of hand-holding and explanation providing to me, which I really appreciate. (The tuna wasn't for me and the person who would be eating it wasn't with me so it took a lot of thought to determine what he would want, so the extra patience and kindness was greatly appreciated. He liked it.) I had the avocado, cheese and sprouts sandwich on a sourdough roll - holy moley, this was a gigantic sandwich! There was at least a half of an avocado. You select whatever vegetables you want on it. I asked for lettuce, tomatoes and onions and selected smoked Gouda for the cheese. There was a perfect amount of shredded lettuce, ripe tomato and awesome onion. What I didn't find were alfalfa sprouts which I decided I probably assumed would be on it, but recall the order taker having asked which vegetables I wanted and I did not mention sprouts specifically so I think I dropped the ball on that. It was a very good sandwich.

Dutch crunch roll with garlic herbed turkey, zesty bistro sauce, sprouts, avocado, red onion, tomato, mayo, & lettuce. Heaven.

I pulled up, and the lady comes out to talk to me, she asked me if I had been there before and I said I didn't. She said take a look at the menu, and I will come back to you. It turns out she was going back-and-forth between being the cashier, and taking orders. If they had a box, it wasn't working. I decided to go with the pulled pork sandwich on a baguette, I chose all of the veggies, with no cheese or avocado, which was extra price. I requested the barbecue sauce, which was the non-spicy version. The sandwich was excellent. The baguette was a very high-quality roll, the pulled pork was savory, and all of the veggies were nice and crisp. The barbecue sauce tasted like it was a vinegar based, and it had a great "Tang" to it. It provided a nice pop of acid to offset the richness of the pulled pork. I could only finish half of my sandwich, and I had the other half for dinner. The sandwich came out to $14 and change after tax, , which was reasonable for such a good sandwich. The reason I'm taking off a star, is because of the wait time. The wait time from when I pulled up till when I pulled out with my sandwich was roughly 15 minutes. That's quite a wait for a sandwich. You can order ahead online, but you still have to wait in the line to pick up your food. They do delivery, but they only do one delivery run a day at 11 AM, and so you have to get your order in on time. They shouldn't have the person running back-and-forth between being cashier, and taking orders as well. Maybe have another person taking orders. Hopefully the next time I come back, the wait won't be so long. I wish these guys would get a "brick-and-mortar." They would do very well. Thank you!

I ordered the bacon scramble on a Parmesan bagel. I wish I ordered the jalapeño cheddar bagel but I didn't see them until I ordered. The scramble itself was good. Hearty bacon and eggs were cooked well. The bagel was a little crispy for my liking instead of doughy. Also the Parmesan got a little burned when it was toasted. The coffee was a huge let down. Very weak flavor and watered down.

With that being said, I did enjoy them. I just had a bagel with plain cream cheese, so I could judge just the bagel as much as possible. They were nice and warm when ordered, as I had them toasted. The texture was fairly good, when it comes to good bagels I've had. However, the texture was just short of the top tier I've had. The chewy inside and crispy exterior were there, as I do a prefer a NY style bagel. The cream cheese was piled on nice and thick on the bagel. Thicccccc cream cheese, that each half of the bagel was substantial. They served it that way and I didn't bother pitting them together due to the volume. If I were craving a bagel and in the Humboldt area, this would be a worthy look.
