We heard this was the place to go for breakfast. The restaurant has a cozy, clean atmosphere, including the bathrooms, and the staff provided excellent, friendly service throughout our visit. Our table enjoyed regular pancakes with scrambled eggs with bacon, and a chicken fried steak with potatoes and biscuits and gravy. The bacon was excellent, but one of my pancakes was severely overcooked on one side and difficult to cut. The gravy was a bit thin, but otherwise the food was tasty. read more

I've been coming here for well over a decade and I remember always having a positive experience. The food is good. I had the classic egg breakfast with over easy eggs, bacon, hash browns, and a biscuit. I enjoyed it all. One member of my party had the sunrise benedict and enjoyed it but said it was a bit bland. The other member of my party had the incredible potato cake and said it was not enjoyable. It was basically a plate of potatoes with a tiny bit of cheese and sour cream. It was also bland. He chose that dish due to a food sensitivity (gluten and no fried food) and unfortunately that was the only thing he could eat on the menu. As for the restaurant itself. We were seated right by the coffee station and it was extremely loud. I couldn't hear anyone at my table when the coffee machine was running, which was most of the time. The restaurant feels very dark and dirty. It has a dreary tan paint color inside that makes it feel dated. The baseboards are caked with black dirt. It needs to be deep cleaned and freshened up. I feel like with a fresh coat of paint it would look much nicer. Maybe bright cream paint with an accent wall and some paintings/art hung on the walls. And the baseboards need to be replaced. They have laminated papers on the wall above the coffee station that are turning brown from dirt and age. I didn't go in today but I used the bathroom in January, the last time I was there, and it was absolutely disgusting. Same dark paint color, the light barely worked, I could hardly see, there's graffiti etched into the mirror. It also needs to be redone. The datedness of the restaurant makes it feel dirty which doesn't make the dining experience nice. For the prices of the dishes, there should be some effort into making the restaurant look clean and nice. I honestly can't believe someone would look at that space and think it's nice to serve customers in. It's sad because the food is good and it's been around for so long, I just feel dirty in there. read more

I came here for the first time two weeks ago with my boyfriend. We both got the chicken fried steak, and it was the BEST chicken fried steak I've had in my life!! The homemade applesauce was downright mouthwatering. The dining area is pretty small, but in a good way. It was cozy and cute. And our server was fantastic. She told us her best friend worked with her and her husband used to work there as well, making it seem very family oriented. And I love when managers are willing to work alongside their staff--he filled our water glasses several times. Super crowded dining area, Felt super tight and closed in, i dont recommend if you are a bigger person. The chairs got uncomfortable incredibly fast, thats with the tight enclosure was a not a great experience I wouldnt call this place kid friendly, the waitresses were great towards my 4 year old, brought her crayons and coloring pages, and catered with the cups so she wouldn't spill anything, but once again the ammount of space to eat and the comfortabiliaty of the chairs are not recommended for small children It felt as if the food took a very long time to come, so expect a good amount of waiting for food But the 3 stars are for the chefs, man they make some great food, i ordered a spicey chicken breakfast burrito and it was amazing The proportions are huge as well so bring an empty stomach read more

I haven't been to Golden Harvest in a while... I have been making breakfast at home and using my 'restaurant' budget on lunches. Still they make a couple of items I've been missing: a killer vegetarian biscuits and gravy and some of the best breakfast potatoes in town. My wife and I share our breakfasts, as a rule. I got the original Potato Cakes with a fried egg on top; she had the eggs Benedict, one of which had classic Hollandaise sauce and the other a garlic sauce. We shared an order of biscuits and gravy. The service was fairly prompt, the food was perfect, and there were plenty of potatoes left over for later. The price was a bit steep, however. With tip it was $65! When we arrived we were then told it be a minimum of 30 to 40 minutes. Looking at the dining area there was clearly several tables available fully ready to serve customers. I ate here with a friend today for breakfast and have been here before a while ago. The food is delicious and the service is excellent. It's located right off of Highway 101in Eureka. This place has plenty of parking and amazing food! I had a half order of the incredible potato cakes and it tasted delicious. The portions are large and to get more bang for your buck it may make sense to get a full order and save what's left over for another meal. For years we have driven past this restaurant and finally decided to stop by. The menu isnt huge which makes it easier for your decision but the great thing is that most plates come with two sides. During our week-long family road trip, we stopped into to so many towns we were unfamiliar with and I was usually tasked with finding the food (thank you, Yelp!). While waiting with our baby in the car while my husband explored a local hardware store, I found Golden Harvest Cafe on Yelp and after reading some of their great reviews, decided to place an online order. I ordered the Classic Breakfast burrito with a couple of modifications (potatoes AND pinto beans, add salsa) which came with 2 burritos for under $13. I assumed they'd be a little small (which they were) so I ordered us a side of fruit to share as well. I was quoted about 15-20 minutes, input a description of our vehicle and pulled up to wait at the curbside at our allotted time. A server brought our food out to the car, which makes things so convenient with you have an infant in the car with you. The burritos were the perfect mix of hearty and spicy, they were really good!
