    Breakfast burrito

We stopped in for breakfast before heading out to the redwoods. The food was delicious. I had lemon berry waffles and my husband had a breakfast burrito. The lemonade and orange juice were also very good. It is counter service, with them bringing the food out to you. It is a cute, small, eclectic place I would recommend.

Super cute and yummy cafe in Arcata. We stopped in on a Sunday while on our roadtrip over from the Redwoods. They have a great selection of coffee and food. I was excited to see some craft coffee drinks. I ordered the Strawberries and Cream Latte. Delicious! We also got the Matcha Lemonade - was good if you like those flavors together. We also ordered the caprese-ish sandwich with turkey; and the moonstone melt. Both tasty! The cafe itself has outdoor seating with a cute little patio, and the inside is warm and homey. Servers were all nice!

I wish there were more places like this in every city. The service was great, the food was even better, the indoor seating was easy but the outdoor was like sitting in a garden and such a vibe. They had so many Gluten Free options, vegan and vegetarian as well, smaller meals, pastries (the literal best Gluten free cookie I have ever tried), and I cant think of a single thing here that wasn't worth trying. I highly recommend this place, for coffee, sweets, a full meal, literally anything because it was that good.

Food was amazing but smaller portions than I would have liked, the people were very nice and the environment was so cute and friendly. Its such a cute little place to stop for breakfast lunch or dinner! They have it all! Indoor and outdoor dining with umbrellas over the outside tables. The menu has so many good options and the prices are about what would be expected from a cafe, not too high but not cheap either.

GF lavender shortbread cookies. And carrot mornings muffins.

I'm gluten free. The coffee choices were great. I had a London Fog and a regular coffee. But best of all they have yummy GF goodies. The eggs and bacon breakfast was wonderful.

This place is by far the best breakfast spot we have had during our stay in Humboldt county. Once you are seated you place your order at the counter so you have to stand in line to do that and then your food is brought to you. We ordered a few breakfast burritos, a bean bowl with a poached egg and 2 orders of the bayside breakfast with bacon. The bean bowl was infused with flavors and went perfectly with a poached egg and topped with avocado. My only wish was that the beans and veggies were hotter. The 2 bayside breakfasts came with a side salad some seasoned potatoes and 2 poached eggs. The burrito was also yummy and packed with flavor but make sure to note that is is topped with seed and sauce and and comes with pickled onion so if you aren't a fan make sure to take note of that! I also tried the mocha matcha which was not too sweet but still had a rich flavor of mocha.

Avocado toast solid, burrito very good, indoor outdoor seating very competitive , looong wait times for food (one hour) staff were pleasant, have to bus your own table

One of my favorite places to stop for brunch in Arcata. Such good options always super delicious. Rlly love their menu!

12oz. Mocha on left, 16 oz. vanilla latte on right !

I wanted so badly to like this place because it's cute, but that's really all it had to offer. My husband and I were disappointed with everything else :( Service : we stopped by one day as we were driving in the area and accidentally found the place, we walked in and the place was cute, we looked at the menus up at the front and after a minute or two I noticed we were there too late and they were in fact closing up shop for the day- totally okay that was our fault ! Howeverrrr I did wish they at least acknowledged us and said the normal "hey guys so sorry, we're closing down for the day, feel free to check out the menu though and for next time our hours are ..." you know ? I work at a cafe myself so maybe this is personal preference but I've always been told not to ignore potential customers so out right. We came back today a few weeks later since I did want to try it and today our service was better, the girl at the counter was nice ! That's about it though, it's a self serve, self sitting, self table-bussing type place so it really can't be impressive since you kinda do it all yourself anyway but she was nice ‍ Drinks / food : Fiance and I ordered coffees, they were okay- good, not great but whatever. The food though was really where things went wrong. I ordered a kids waffle because I really wasn't all that hungry but my husband was so he ordered the full sized waffle. UHHHHHHH They're the same size ? I was really confused about this because the kids one is $9 which is fine but the adult one was $16 if I remember right and it was the same exact waffle but with whipped cream on top. Mine came with syrup but his did not which I also thought was kinda odd, we ended up just sharing mine anyway but why would something almost double the price be the same size as a child's plate.. The size of the waffle was the size of *maybe* 2 frozen eggs waffles, but possibly even thinner I don't know I guess I was just expecting a nice fluffy thick waffle more than an eggo toast like one. Time: took forever. Coffee took about 20 minutes, food at least another 20, reminder we just ordered what ended up being the tiniest 2 waffles so I don't know how it takes that long to cook.. there were no sides or anything that came with it so it was definitely a simple order that should've been pretty quick imo. I doubt we will be coming back, $50 for 2 alright coffees and eggo waffles that took ~45 mins kinda rubbed me the wrong way but at least we can say we gave it a fair shot ‍

    So tasty!

I just went here for the first time on Saturday. The food was amazing. It was so flavorful and fresh. I had the breakfast burrito and couldn't finish it all. The atmosphere is sweet and so are the staff. I will definitely visit again.

    Cozy!

This is a cute place. The parking is on the street so you might have to walk a distance. It was too busy when we were there and they were slammed with orders. We were first served the wrong meal. Then we waited more than 15 minutes after that for our food. And the food was mediocre.

Food always feels so nourishing, service is hit or miss. Hands down best Matcha in Humboldt

Came here with friends before the weekend crafters faire opened, and I'm so glad we did!…read more It's not every day that I see a Croque Madame on a menu, so you know I just had to have that. Such a simple yet complex ham and cheese sandwich, and Cafe Brio prepares theirs open-faced, allowing one to enjoy the flavors of the multiple cheeses without everything getting lost between two slices of bread. I know I definitely enjoyed it! The only thing I would do differently next time is order an extra poached egg bc one simply wasn't enough for me. I love me some runny yolk, and I wanted more of it with every bite. My friends ordered the Brio Benedict and Eggs Brian, and I'm assuming they enjoyed their meals as much as I enjoyed mine bc they might as well have licked their plates clean. And in absolute silence, too! You know the food is good when the conversation comes to a halt and all you hear are occasional "yums" between bites. I look forward to returning the next time I make the five-hour drive to visit my friends. And I definitely need to work my way through their pastry selection bc everything in that case looked absolutely divine. Next time, I'm saving room for pastries. Or maybe I'll just order them to go bc who am I kidding?!

I had the frittata and my husband had a summer omelette. I loved that both used interesting…read more cheeses, which reflect the area. The frittata appeared made fresh, not in a pan baked that morning and then carved out. I appreciated that, and the lightly dressed greens and super sweet tomatoes that accompanied it. I had a golden milk to drink, which was good and unsweetened (which is what I want). I wish their chai had been house-made too, without sugar pre-added. Coffee was decent. The dining space has plenty of seating inside and out, and parking is plentiful and free in the downtown square. The shop also makes their own bread, which is good, and a variety of yummy looking pastries, many of which feature fruits in season.
