Such a simple yet complex ham and cheese sandwich, and Cafe Brio prepares theirs open-faced, allowing one to enjoy the flavors of the multiple cheeses without everything getting lost between two slices of bread. I know I definitely enjoyed it! The only thing I would do differently next time is order an extra poached egg bc one simply wasn't enough for me. I love me some runny yolk, and I wanted more of it with every bite. My friends ordered the Brio Benedict and Eggs Brian, and I'm assuming they enjoyed their meals as much as I enjoyed mine bc they might as well have licked their plates clean. And in absolute silence, too! You know the food is good when the conversation comes to a halt and all you hear are occasional "yums" between bites. I look forward to returning the next time I make the five-hour drive to visit my friends. And I definitely need to work my way through their pastry selection bc everything in that case looked absolutely divine. Next time, I'm saving room for pastries. The frittata appeared made fresh, not in a pan baked that morning and then carved out. I appreciated that, and the lightly dressed greens and super sweet tomatoes that accompanied it. I had a golden milk to drink, which was good and unsweetened (which is what I want). I wish their chai had been house-made too, without sugar pre-added. Coffee was decent. The dining space has plenty of seating inside and out, and parking is plentiful and free in the downtown square. The shop also makes their own bread, which is good, and a variety of yummy looking pastries, many of which feature fruits in season.

No problem. But during the next ten (!) minutes the person in the car exhibited yearbook pictures to the barista and had an extended convo. After the person's single drink was produced this conversation continued with no sign of finishing. I'm waiting in my car getting more and more pissed at the barista's total cluelessness about customer service. Five minutes after the friend's drink had been delivered, and ten minutes total in waiting, I left. I've never had a bad experience at Jitterbean before this. But if I was a manager I'd sure want to know about this, so I called the company. The woman I talked to transferred me to the managers voicemail. I also sent an email to the addy on their website. Six weeks later I have had no response. I no longer patronize Jitterbean which is a shame as they're local. But they chose, in multiple ways, to treat a loyal customer poorly. Super disappointed

Starbucks is the bottom of the totem pole where I come from so I wouldn't use that as a standard. Once we did order our drink (without white coffee)because they don't know what that is, without ice to make a Frappuccino (because it wouldn't taste right apparently) and without ice cream (their norm) because they were out so they used group. On top of that we asked for extra shots and ended up paying $10 for a 20oz coffee which ended up tasting like crap because they didn't add extra sweetener with the $4 charge for extra shots. On top of that when I asked for a little extra Carmel (so I could suck down my $10 coffee) they said they would have to charge for that also. Don't go here if you want actual caffeine and not overpriced sugar milk.
