I'm so damn spoiled now. Other coffee shops in Humboldt CA should see this place as an aspirational influence! Coffee and food are brought to you (unless it's busy, then food is brought to you and your drink is announced at the bar to collect); every food item is great flavor, texture, fresh ingredients, and no-nonsense sauces (only quality sauces can be found here!) The vibe is still very welcoming, they've added sidewalk tables, and another window bar to sit and enjoy the plants and sunshine that beams in from the courtyard - for that matter, you can sit IN the courtyard!

They had a dedicated area for sitting, and some things like board games available for groups to enjoy while sipping their beverage of choice. I got a mocha frappé and enjoyed it. It hit the spot on a sunny Eureka day. To my surprise, I got a freebie, with the barista making more than what would fit in the cup. The excess was poured into an additional cup, and given for free. That was awesome. Speaking of the staff, they were great. Despite being a busy day and not many people working, they pushed through and i saw them handle all types of attitudes and customers with great care. I enjoyed my drink here for sure.

At one point, she opened the window, and handed them a drink. It looked like she was making the drinks one at a time. At about the 10 minute mark, I honked my horn to let them know that I was waiting. The lady stuck her head out the window, looked at me, and I politely said, I've been in line almost 10 minutes. She didn't say I'm sorry, she didn't say I'll be right with you,, she just gave me a dirty look, and pulled her head back in the window. Once again, I left. Instead, I went over to jitter bean on Harris across the street from Safeway. There, I was behind three other cars, and even with three cars in front of me, I waited less than 10 minutes. At one point, one of the employees actually came out to the line, asked me what I wanted, took my reusable mug inside and then when I got to the window, my drink was ready. That's the way these places should be doing things. Sorry Gold, Rush, in this case, two strikes and you're out. . There are too many other coffee places in town that I can go to. Thanks anyway.

Spent most of the tour hearing from the owner about how his workers kiss every one of your beans that come from plantations where even bullets were found in the beans the workers sort in the factory. Not once did he talk about the exploitation cocoa farms have for children in the country of origin, inclu ding child slavery or slavery amongst adults, nor the companies commitment to working with farmers who practice ethical trade. That lack of emphasis of the dialogue regarding human rights leads me to believe that acknowledging humans rights isn't something this company has even with their own workers. A bunch of people come in for a tour and the cafe workers who are pretty new to the front area have to be in charge of seeing about 15- 30 different orders with in 5 minutes and the front stage who makes below minimum of the cost of living has to be left felling supported? I wonder if all the staff working for you have even been on a sailboat or own one? It's on your logo after all. Or is it a simple nod to the slave trade being the reasons you are a millionaire? I think it would be amazing if this company could make products that do not include slavery or mistreatment of workers.

Fresh kale, lettuce, lemongrass, mint, basil, yummy! I also love their bulk section, tons of grains, rice, quinoa... you name it. And their alternative milks, so many options! Honestly, this place feels like a mashup of Whole Foods and Trader Joe's, but with that local, eco-friendly heart. The store is clean and well-maintained, staff are super friendly, and there's always fun little things to discover--local soaps, chocolates, jams, honey, wine, and seasonal displays. Plus, the sushi bar upfront is delicious. They also sell cute plants, candles, totes, which makes the store feel extra fun. Yes, it's a little pricier than other supermarkets, but for freshness, variety, quality, and that special eco-friendly, local vibe, it's totally worth it. This is my go-to store. Highly recommend!

The waiter's attitude was hurried, impatient, and not even a "how is your meal". Ambience: it was nice to be out on the deck. Otherwise nothing special. The host podium is crowded with stuff around it. It looks like they are storing things in the entrance. After hearing so much about how nice and it was, I was disappointed. I'd eat somewhere else and ride the elevator up to walk around the non-restaurant part of the rooftop to see the view. Honestly.
