We come to Arcata every few weeks to meet our son for breakfast. It's close enough to Calpoly Humboldt to meet for brunch. When we arrived, it was extremely busy for a Saturday morning. We put our name down and waited. I understand it being busy, but the girl host and the guy were extremely rude to us. Honestly, there are plenty of restaurants around. My family went to this place for breakfast and brought me back aa plate and it was delish. I got a Bacon avocado tomato crepe with scrambled eggs. The crepe was full of goodies, thick with lots of stuffing, it wasn't skimpy on the items in the crepe, the scrambled eggs were on the side. Delicious crepe spot in downtown Arcata! I have only been to the area a few times but I've dined here twice because it's such a great spot for lunch. This time I ordered one of the specials on the board -- the chicken and the mango savory crepe. My sister also got a special, the savory peach, and both were scrumptious. The ingredients tasted fresh and flavorful and the flavor combos in each crepe were excellent. The wait for the food felt a little long but maybe that's just the nature of the lunch rush. Place was really busy when we went but I'm so glad we got to try the food. We ordered the del sol crepe and the special peachalicious crepe. I loved the cheese on the del sol crepe. I promise there was an Amber Rose on this plate. I devoured it so fast, it was that good. The service was top notch, from greeting their customers as soon as you walk in the door, to walking you to your table in a snap. Amy was phenomenal and the young man making crepe magic in the back was just as good. The first thing we noticed about this place. HOW CLEAN it is. There is ZERO dust on the window sills, or any of the decorations. The floor was so clean, that if they had dropped my crepe on it, I would have grabbed my fork and gone to town. What a find in the middle of a small town in Northern California. We were driving through and decided to stop here due to all the 5-star reviews. The first thing you notice is the style of decorations this restaurant incorporates. Very eclectic, many different pieces pulled together with such detail as to create a warm exotic space. I already started to anticipate the food offerings. The crepes on the menu continue the theme of pulling together ingredients in a unique way, and the dining results are equal as creative and delicious. We ordered the Amber rose. Brie as the cheese, bacon and apples. So yummy. And they gave such a large portion I couldn't finish it. Maybe because I topped it with their delicious salad. The sweet crepe was also super delicious and was presented beautifully. Truly, this restaurant gives so much attention to the preparation and presentation. Isn't it strange how you can live in a place for 10 years and never visit certain restaurants..? I moved away from Humboldt County 4 years ago and recently returned to take care of some estate business. While there I met a friend for breakfast, and she suggested this place... how did I not know!?! First off, the vibes inside the restaurant are great. I was enamored with the decor and there was so much to look at... and buy if you were so inclined. But, let's talk about the food... so fresh and flavorful. The salad was indulgent. I got a savory crepe and my friend's daughter got a sweet crepe. They both were wonderful. And, my latte was amazing too. The service is so quick and friendly. We got here reasonably early and soon the restaurant started to fill up even on a weekday, so make sure you get there early. I'm sad I didn't get to experience this restaurant more when I lived in Humboldt, but it's a place I will definitely come back to when I visit. read more
