Absolutely LOVE Aroma's Cafe! Their customer service is amazing- they are always incredibly sweet and it's so pleasant being able to chat with them! Their chilaquiles are absolutely incredible- probably my favorite so far in Humboldt! The coffee is great, also and they have a nice selection for both coffees + food items. Their WiFi is quick and this is such a cozy spot to hangout at in the mornings. Highly recommend!

Not pictured we also got two white mochas and the potato tacos. We CLEANED our plates. 10/10. Everything was fantastic. The biscuits and gravy were delicious, the gravy was seasoned perfectly and the biscuits didn't get soggy in the gravy. The potato tacos were incredible flavorful and the sprinkle of cheese and salsa on top made it finger licking good. The lemon curd crepe stole the show though, our table ordered three. With the majority of ingredients made in-house you can't help but have an incredible meal Everyone enjoyed their drinks too! The staff was friendly, the location ideal, and the atmosphere was cozy. Definitely coming back.

Aroma's is fantastic! This is becoming my go to for breakfast and lunch. Despite a tight parking lot the inside is open and bright. Inside you'll find plenty of tables and chairs and a nice bar along the window for folks who prefer this for solo dining. The owners are so lovely and helpful, happy to explain anything you have questions about. Including happy to tell you which of the house made choices are the best if you want everything on their large menu. Today we were presented with a complementary sampling of the chilaquiles sauces, a nice reminder that I love this breakfast with an egg. I'm a fan of the green sauce, it's a bit more spicy, but you can't go wrong with either! Both sauces have such rich taste, as homemade sauces do. For lunch I had the chicken enchiladas. I'm not going to lie, I get these a lot! Their menu is big and temping, but the chicken enchiladas are made fresh each day, plentiful, and muy sabroso! They offer a potato and spinach version if you're looking for yummy and veggie. Truthfully everything is great, and there is a large variety beyond the Latin treats I lean towards, it's that kind of place. Definitely worth checking out. It's convenient, the food is fresh made on site with love, the portions are generous, the desserts are irresistible, and the owners are so welcoming, helpful, and darn good cooks!

Upon…read moreentering we were greeted immediately by the person who would be our server from behind the bar. The restaurant is clean, has an old feeling to it, a little more dim than I would like but nothing that would change my mind about staying. We were seated quickly and the service throughout our whole experience was just amazing. My wife ordered the fried pickles that came with a dipping sauce. These things were quite addictive! They were not as salty as I thought they would be and we enjoyed them all the way to the bottom of the bowl. I ordered the fishwhich with a side of Hawaiian Mac Salad. The sandwich was great! I love that it was breaded and fried but not so overwhelming to where it taste more like batter than fish. The fish was tender and not salty but the presence of the fish taste was prominent and not covered by the batter. The sandwich all in all was the highlight of this meal. I will say I was a little disappointed with the "Hawaiian" Mac salad. As a Pacific Islander, it's always great when we get to have a taste of home. This was indeed Mac salad but not made in the Hawaiian style. It was watery, had cucumber and it did not stick like Hawaiian Mac salad. I did my best to be respectful and finish my plate but it was really hard to eat that macaroni salad. I would love to see this remade into the Hawaiian style that it claims. For dessert, we had the churros with dipping sauce and the white dipping sauce was the absolute best! The chocolate dipping sauce could've been worked on a little more and it was surprisingly watery as well. The churros were something different from the traditional churros that I was used to, but it had good flavor and it stayed together and did not fall apart which I appreciated. All in all we enjoyed our time here being able to have this food, have a great conversation, and receive amazing service. I appreciate most the fact that the server tolerated my sense of humor when I asked her "do we get discounts at The Hood if we are from the 'hood". We will definitely come back here again whenever we are in town.

It's generally very difficult to find a jewel of authenticity in many restaurants since there is no money in maintaining the highest quality of food and traditions. Unless of course you're French Laundry status. Let me tell you about this new place I have tried multiple times due to my work. I am so lucky to have found this gem in the most unlikely place! It's the hidden Garden Court Cafeteria of MRCH. I don't really know how and why it is, but I know a great restaurant, when I try their most basic things or their daily specials in the menu. In this restaurant particularly I am completely mesmerized and satisfied with the quality, quantity, price, service and the taste, mostly the taste! All the things that matter for the solid five stars. This fabulous hospital cafeteria has the unique garden to table philosophy with two acres of their own natural organic farm with no spray, Humboldt grass fed beef, Muddy Waters Coffee Co., and Wild Planet Tuna! I had double cheeseburger with amazing patties, usual wheat buns, lettuce, tomato and plenty of pickles. The single bite took me back thirty years ago, when I took a bite into my very first and the best juicy burger at the hole in the wall burger shack at Walters, Oklahoma! What a truly amazing experience! Rarely the hamburger can dig deeply into your long term memory box and pry open to give you the glimpse of the old days! The breakfast with traditional biscuits and thick gravy was also delicious earlier this morning ! I love this place. Teresa is the head chef. There are two men who make the best biscuits and gravy as well as maintaining the best tasting fresh garden vegetables in the amazing salad bar! Parking is street parking only, so it can get tricky during busier times. They have both indoor and outdoor seating. They have a very large food menu, and they also have bagels, pastries, coffee, espresso drinks, , smoothies, beer, and wine. I was in at lunchtime, so I decided to get an "everything bagel" with their sun-dried tomatoes spread. I asked for light spread, and that's what I got. The bagel was amazing! Very tender. I could smell the garlic on the bagel and taste it as well. It was excellent. The spread was both savory and rich, but not overly rich. I loved it. I also had a white mocha. It was a good quality, coffee, and the drink was rich and sweet, but not overly so. I was talking with my sister later, and she told me that their sandwiches and salads are also very good. I decided to come back for dinner. I had the salami, baguette, and one of their lemon squares for dinner. The Salami Baguette had Salami, Jack Cheese, Spinach, Tomatoes, Dijon, and Pesto (Basil, Olive Oil, Garlic, Walnuts, Parmesan, and Salt) That sandwich was amazing! Baguette was soft and delicious, they were generous with the salami, and it had the right amount of cheese. The veggies give it a nice "pop" of freshness, the pesto was rich, but not overly so, and the Dijon and just a tiny bit of a "zip" to it. All of the ingredients played together very well. The lemon square, the crust was flaky, the lemon was creamy, but not overly sweet, and it had just the right amount of powdered sugar on the top. Everything I had there today was fantastic. The prices were reasonable. I will definitely be back to try more items. My only regret is waiting so long before I finally came in. Thanks!
