I'm old. I still remember when this building was Stanton's market. I mentioned that to the lady at the counter, and she said that one of her customers,Used to be the butcher there. I don't remember the person's name, but I know who she was talking about. The place is nice, bright and clean. Everybody is friendly. They have a nice menu. I was going to have one of the savory crêpes, but then I saw that they had Al Pastor Chilaquiles on the menu. That's what I decided to go for. I ordered breakfast and a cup of coffee. The coffee was good They were pretty busy. My food comes, and it was very good. The chips were crunchy, but not greasy or oily at all, there was plenty of pork, and it had a great flavor. The crema, , the cheese and the salsa, provided a nice pop of flavor as well. She asked me if I wanted green or red salsa, or both. I asked if they were spicy, and she said no, so I chose both.. Red on one side, green on the other. They both had just a little bit of a kick to them.The red salsa had a rich, deep flavor, and I loved the green tomatillo salsa as well. I think the next time, I would ask her to put a couple of eggs on the top. That would've just taken it totally over the top. It was a great meal, and the price was reasonable, as I had plenty to take home. The only reason I'm taking a star off, is because the place was slow. They were a bit busy, and it took 20 minutes for me to get my food. I understand, they may have a small kitchen, but definitely bring your patience. As for the coffee, I only got one cup of coffee. I asked for a refill, she said she had to make a new pot, but by the time my meal was ready, she still didn't have fresh coffee available. How long does it take to make a pot of coffee? First time trying out Aroma's Cafe and it was a 10/10 experience! I ordered the breakfast bagel with ham and avocado and it was delicious. My boyfriend got the breakfast burrito with bacon and it was also flavorful and super yummy. The service was amazing, our food took less than 5 minutes. I didn't get the woman's name that was behind the counter but she was super friendly. The ambiance was unlike other cafes I've been to. It's not super modern and plain. Tons of cool decorations, string lights on the ceiling, very pretty mosaic art and more! I would definitely go back again. read more

Absolutely LOVE Aroma's Cafe! Their customer service is amazing- they are always incredibly sweet and it's so pleasant being able to chat with them! Their chilaquiles are absolutely incredible- probably my favorite so far in Humboldt! The coffee is great, also and they have a nice selection for both coffees + food items. Not pictured we also got two white mochas and the potato tacos. We CLEANED our plates. 10/10. Everything was fantastic. The biscuits and gravy were delicious, the gravy was seasoned perfectly and the biscuits didn't get soggy in the gravy. The potato tacos were incredible flavorful and the sprinkle of cheese and salsa on top made it finger licking good. The lemon curd crepe stole the show though, our table ordered three. With the majority of ingredients made in-house you can't help but have an incredible meal Everyone enjoyed their drinks too! The staff was friendly, the location ideal, and the atmosphere was cozy. Aroma's is fantastic! This is becoming my go to for breakfast and lunch. Despite a tight parking lot the inside is open and bright. Inside you'll find plenty of tables and chairs and a nice bar along the window for folks who prefer this for solo dining. The owners are so lovely and helpful, happy to explain anything you have questions about. Including happy to tell you which of the house made choices are the best if you want everything on their large menu. Today we were presented with a complementary sampling of the chilaquiles sauces, a nice reminder that I love this breakfast with an egg. I'm a fan of the green sauce, it's a bit more spicy, but you can't go wrong with either! Both sauces have such rich taste, as homemade sauces do. For lunch I had the chicken enchiladas. I'm not going to lie, I get these a lot! Their menu is big and temping, but the chicken enchiladas are made fresh each day, plentiful, and muy sabroso! They offer a potato and spinach version if you're looking for yummy and veggie. Truthfully everything is great, and there is a large variety beyond the Latin treats I lean towards, it's that kind of place. Definitely worth checking out. It's convenient, the food is fresh made on site with love, the portions are generous, the desserts are irresistible, and the owners are so welcoming, helpful, and darn good cooks! read more

Was on my way to the zoo with my wife when I wanted something delicious and delightful to eat and drink to start the day. The drinks were refreshing and Crêpe were tasteful definitely would drop by again if I was in the area but overall the ladies who were working that morning were sweet and caring. This place has awesome chilaquiles and great customer service! Staff are friendly and the portions are plentiful! The decor is really comfy and feels like having a meal in a close friend's home. We tried the breakfast tacos on another visit and they were really yummy, as are the enormous plates of biscuits and gravy, made from a spicy sausage gravy that really satisfies cravings for comfort food. I came in by chance since I was early for my internship. It's a small quaint spot but you'll be greeted warmly by the staff team. They were patient as I wasn't sure what to get and gave some recommendations. I ended up getting a crepe and a pastry as a snack for later. Aromas is my neighborhood go to for coffee &delicious food. Five star all the way all the time. This coffee house/cafe is staffed only by the two owners Marisol and Adela. Yet everyone is served at their table after ordering at the counter. They are never annoyed and are always fully customer oriented. Their menu items are made to order, so sometimes there's a wait, but if you're in a hurry there are plenty of quick foods and daily baked pastries to choose from. The food is house made from fresh ingredients including house roasted chiles, fresh veggies for the salads and salsas, the fruit jams, flan, hot chili oil, tortillas. The bagels are locally made for them as are the tortilla chips. The coffee drinks are consistent in quality and flavor. Oh, and they serve Mimosas all day. Very clean and homey environment. They have breakfast & lunch every day, with salads, sandwiches, a few Mexican dishes, crepes, bagels with toppings, a vegetarian menu and 2 types of soups. I had the vegetarian minestrone soup & salad combo and it was light and tasty! The soup was super nutritious with tons of veggies, no pasta, and a slight spiciness. Please, for the love of god, read this review before you go. I was excited to check this place out. My brother and I are visiting Eureka, and I know there are a lot of good cafes. The 5 star rating of Aroma's cafe drew us in (HOW do they have 5 stars?!) After ordering, we sat down to await our codes and breakfast. I got a mocha and chilaquiles. It was $22, which seemed a little steep, but not out of the ordinary. Now for the main complaint. It. Was. Sllooooowwww. I always give service staff the benefit of the doubt (I work in the service industry) but I do not see how it can take 30 minutes to make a coffee. The place wasn't packed. There were only about 8 other people aside from us in there. it dragged on so long that we requested our food to go. FINALLY after 45 minutes, we had our breakfast and coffee. It was slow as hell, but the food must be good, right? Right? Wrong. The "chicken" chilaquiles was just chilaquiles with unseasoned chunks of chicken dropped on top. Now, I've eaten a lot of canned chicken in my time, and I'm 70% sure this chicken came out of a can. The chilaquiles themselves were...okay. They tasted fine, not great, but they were also cold in several spots. I mean COME ON! 45 minutes and THIS is what you give me?! For $22? I'm not one to complain about food. I've never written a bad review before, and I've written a lot of good ones. I know how a review can affect the livelihoods of the owners of an establishment. But this feels like my civic duty. The only bright spot: The mocha was good. Not great, but good. If you want to wait 30 minutes for good coffee, go for it. Oh, and it wasn't just us. Every person that ordered that I saw had the same insane delay that we had. Yelp wants me to write a little about the ambiance, so here it is. The windows were fogged up and we couldn't see anything outside. The tables were tippy, and resulted in some minor water spills. Otherwise, it was pretty normal cafe ambiance. I hope this helps someone else decide not to come here. read more

Counter service was friendly and efficient and the place was very clean and comfortable with good coffee. My husband had a breakfast sandwich which was nothing special but good. I ordered the chilaquiles... not so great. The sauce was tasty, and a little spicy, but I thought there was too much of it. And while the sauce was warm (not hot), the whole plate was covered with copious amounts of cheese and sour cream that was cool, making the whole thing kind of cold and on the sloppy side.
