No one in line. Was greeted right away. Ordered a French dip to go. Sandwich was prepared quickly. The dining area is very nice. Very well decorated and clean. Sandwich was very hot! The sandwich and Au Jus were so good!

The two sandwiches we got tasted amazing! Perfectly made. I've never had a sandwich taste so good before. My first time trying this place and I loved it!

I see this place has mixed reviews which initially had me unsure if I should give it a chance or not. Here to say that I'm glad I did! The bread and ingredients were fresh! The staff were friendly and my sandwich was ready within 5 minutes from ordering! Restaurant was clean and spacious, although I took my order to go, because I was just passing through. Only knock on the place is that it's a little pricey, but honestly everything is nowadays!

The pastrami Ruben was fantastic! The meat was just Livy tender and warm and the kraut was perfect. Glad we stopped in for lunch and the service was great lived the sourdough option for anything and was glad I opted for it!

Kind service and delicious food. It was a busy evening with a line so I might try to order ahead of time or to-go order.

This is supposed to be a "bowl" of soup. $10 for this!

Food is good, customer service very friendly, but the prices are outrageous. A sandwich and soup cost me about $25. Yesterday I ordered the bowl of Clam Chowder. $10. But their version of a bowl was like a cup. See attached photos. Ten bucks for a cup of soup! Not returning here.

Place order, drool at tasty sides & desserts and sit at different seating options.

Friendly staff, including Jass helped with recommended hot brisket sandwich which was yummy on soft sourdough bread. I ordered warmed pastrami Reuben that was delicious with flavorful crunchy sauerkraut. Best of all was the huge sliced dill pickle that accompanied the sandwich. Well kept seating and kitchen with one of the leanest bathrooms ever. Great soups, sandwiches & salads for travelers on Hwy 101! Much appreciated.

They recently opened so things were a bit chaotic when we went to pick up what we ordered online. The order had not been started so I had to wait about 40 min. The staff was really nice and apologetic though. The inside is nicely decorated. The counter and area around the fountain drinks needed attention and there appeared to be no trash bin nearby so everyone left straw papers and litter around it. The sandwiches were good (smoked brisket and turkey sandwiches). It was a little pricey for what you get. We will definitely give it another try.

The place was pretty busy at 8pm and we sat outside since we had our pup with us. I ordered 3 oysters as an app. I had just read that Humboldt Bay provided a large percentage of the oysters consumed in CA and NV so figured I should order some since we're so close to the source! I was surprised when I slurped it down and it was warm but they were delicious and the sauce on top was very flavorful. (That was my fault for not reading the description well enough; I'm just accustomed to eating oysters chilled) For entree's, I went with the Polenta Veghie lasagna and my husband ordered the Italian Mac n cheese. Both dishes were very good and very filling. I loved the crust of the polenta and the eggplant and cheese filling was delicious. The staff was very friendly and helpful and I was impressed with the coziness and warmth of the interior. Great spot for dinner, I'm glad I chose this restaurant!

Our server was very pleasant and let us know the special of the day, a halibut dish with a creamy pepper sauce. Debating between that and another dish, we asked her recommendation and she suggested the fish. So we did it. My wife and I traditionally split meals at restaurants, because they generally give you so much food, you leave uncomfortably stuffed. We prefer leaving comfortably satisfied. So we split the Arugula Salad. They bring complementary bread with a garlic butter or basalmic and olive oil. We preferred the basalmic. The garlic butter wasn't very garlicky. But the salad was excellent. They split it for us for a small upcharge. The Halibut was excellent. We had to split it ourselves, but that was not a problem for us. It was served over couscous and was excellent. A bit small to split, so we added a cheesecake dessert with ganache. Very good. We paired it all with a Cabernet from the Oakville area of Napa (where we had just visited) and it was excellent as well. Our server was attentive. The pacing of our meal was very well done. Not too long between check-ins, but also not rushed. We recommend!

The restaurant is clean, has an old feeling to it, a little more dim than I would like but nothing that would change my mind about staying. We were seated quickly and the service throughout our whole experience was just amazing. My wife ordered the fried pickles that came with a dipping sauce. These things were quite addictive! They were not as salty as I thought they would be and we enjoyed them all the way to the bottom of the bowl. I ordered the fishwhich with a side of Hawaiian Mac Salad. The sandwich was great! I love that it was breaded and fried but not so overwhelming to where it taste more like batter than fish. The fish was tender and not salty but the presence of the fish taste was prominent and not covered by the batter. The sandwich all in all was the highlight of this meal. I will say I was a little disappointed with the "Hawaiian" Mac salad. As a Pacific Islander, it's always great when we get to have a taste of home. This was indeed Mac salad but not made in the Hawaiian style. It was watery, had cucumber and it did not stick like Hawaiian Mac salad. I did my best to be respectful and finish my plate but it was really hard to eat that macaroni salad. I would love to see this remade into the Hawaiian style that it claims. For dessert, we had the churros with dipping sauce and the white dipping sauce was the absolute best! The chocolate dipping sauce could've been worked on a little more and it was surprisingly watery as well. The churros were something different from the traditional churros that I was used to, but it had good flavor and it stayed together and did not fall apart which I appreciated. All in all we enjoyed our time here being able to have this food, have a great conversation, and receive amazing service. I appreciate most the fact that the server tolerated my sense of humor when I asked her "do we get discounts at The Hood if we are from the 'hood". We will definitely come back here again whenever we are in town.

We were served right away and the hostess was very nice and located at two top for us. The wait person was lovely and immediately accommodating. The menu was interesting and inviting. I had to laugh out loud as there is an item on the menu referencing Pee-wee's Playhouse from my childhood. I even asked if it was a Gen X restaurant and sure enough the chef is of my generation. I'm including a picture so IYKYK! The waitress had shared all of the specials, and I was intrigued by the flat iron steak option. It was a flat iron steak with marsala mushroom sauce, and mushroom risotto and asparagus. It was delightful! The meat was perfectly cooked and tender with a lot of beef flavor, offset by a rich marsala mushroom sauce. It was perfectly complimented by one of the top mushroom risotto I have had in my life. It was delectable. And the grilled asparagus side paired nicely with the beef and marsala sauce. It even had a little bit of lemon on the asparagus, which is my preference for it! Overall, this is probably in the top five of all of the restaurant meals I've had in my life. My husband had the mixed beef burger with fries. He said he really enjoyed the burger, and I did steal a tiny taste, and it was perfectly cooked and had a slight gameness that gave it some depth. My husband said that the bun was very nice as well. The fries were perfectly cooked. The burger was perfectly cooked and it wasn't over juicing nor dry. Overall, a really great burger! Funniest thing we noticed was that all of the chairs that were sitting on a cement floor had been given rubber caps for each of the legs so that when you moved the chair, it didn't make a horrible sound. Literally extra 10 points for that alone! I wish this location well and look forward to stopping in the next time we are in the area.

The coffee was good They were pretty busy. My food comes, and it was very good. The chips were crunchy, but not greasy or oily at all, there was plenty of pork, and it had a great flavor. The crema, , the cheese and the salsa, provided a nice pop of flavor as well. She asked me if I wanted green or red salsa, or both. I asked if they were spicy, and she said no, so I chose both.. Red on one side, green on the other. They both had just a little bit of a kick to them. The red salsa had a rich, deep flavor, and I loved the green tomatillo salsa as well. I think the next time, I would ask her to put a couple of eggs on the top. That would've just taken it totally over the top. It was a great meal, and the price was reasonable, as I had plenty to take home. The only reason I'm taking a star off, is because the place was slow. They were a bit busy, and it took 20 minutes for me to get my food. I understand, they may have a small kitchen, but definitely bring your patience. As for the coffee, I only got one cup of coffee. I asked for a refill, she said she had to make a new pot, but by the time my meal was ready, she still didn't have fresh coffee available. How long does it take to make a pot of coffee? Other than those minor hiccups, I would definitely be back. Thank you. I
