My daughter said it tasted good, but the pesto sauce was orange... not green. Mac & Cheese - Cheesy! Similar to KFC's mac & cheese. Ambiance - Small location. The place looked clean, organized, and new still. Plenty of mall parking. Open 7 days a week from 10:30am to 8pm. Clean unisex restroom. Service - Slow, took over 20+ minutes from ordering to receiving our meal. And there were NOT many customers. We watched them work. Not sure what the issue was...? We actually drove from Sacramento down to Eureka for a business trip and we decided out of all the fast food restaurants we picked up the sourdough company. The soup was extremely hot almost burned my top of my roof on my mouth, and I ordered a turkey sandwich. I told him I wanted it heated. It was heated, but with no cheese and also I ordered a Sprite and was never given to me. It's pretty sad because we have sourdough in Sacramento and it's top-notch. I ordered warmed pastrami Reuben that was delicious with flavorful crunchy sauerkraut. Best of all was the huge sliced dill pickle that accompanied the sandwich. Unfortunately the bottom line here is that this place is way overpriced for what it is. Today my husband and I ordered two "meals" and wound up paying $43 for two meals. (We could get 4 meals and 4 pup patties at this cost at In-N-Out next door) I ordered a 6" Brisket Sandwich for $14.99 and a 6" Turkey Sandwich for $12.99. To my surprise that was just the price of the sandwich, no drink or side. I was told I could upgrade them to meals and have either chips, soup, or salad for the side. We thought soup sounded like s nice option- but the up charge is $8 per meal! So for a Subway Sandwich Quality meal and some marginal customer service- we paid $20 and $23 for 6" sandwiches, a small cup of watery chowder, and a "medium sized" fountain drink. I definitely feel as though this place overcharges for what they have. I have had better sandwiches at Subway and can get foot long sandwiches with chips and a drink for about 2/3 the price. If you're in the area- try In-N-Out next door for better quality food at s better price. read more

Cannot believe the turnaround. I used to love this place but haven't been here for awhile. I received a social media prompt from them so I came today at noon. First clue; no other customers. And the real tipoff? Five employees standing (well, leaning and slouching actually) in the kitchen trying not to fall asleep. Ordered the special sandwich w/o checking the price (absolutely my bad) and was stunned to pay over $15 for a 6-inch sub...no drink or chips. Must be one Hell of a sandwich. Well, try the sandwich from Hell. Little meat BUT enough shredded lettuce to feed a family of four for a week. They recently opened so things were a bit chaotic when we went to pick up what we ordered online. The order had not been started so I had to wait about 40 min. The staff was really nice and apologetic though. The inside is nicely decorated. The counter and area around the fountain drinks needed attention and there appeared to be no trash bin nearby so everyone left straw papers and litter around it. The sandwiches were good (smoked brisket and turkey sandwiches). It was a little pricey for what you get. We will definitely give it another try. read more

USED to be my favorite place to get a salad. No longer my favorite. I used to get a salad that looked like they actually made it, they would put a lot of chicken and croutons in it. Not anymore, there's a new team of workers there that are all Indian, I'm assuming they're family, that's what I've heard. They all look like they don't know what they're doing, barely speak English, and they're STINGY. I paid $15 for what looks like a premade lousy salad. There was barely any croutons and not enough chicken. The whole bowl was basically lettuce which isn't the same kind of lettuce they used to have. Also, when you get a salad it comes with sourdough and butter, but of course they didn't give me any butter. Thank you for the dry sourdough, the old lettuce salad, and making me feel unwelcome. Totally f'd up my door dash order 100%. Not one thing was even right. French dip came w no dip at all. Got a cup of cheese slices on the side instead of the Au jus. Salad came topped w onions, olives and tomatoes, none of which were supposed to be on it at all. Pickles on the side were sent in a crappy lil paper bag so they leaked pickle juice all over everything, including the choco chip (pickle) cookie for dessert!LAMEST delivery order ever! My partner and I went to try this place out and I feel like we got scammed. The building is pretty dark, and the person taking our order was dismissive and seemed impatient. We tried to explain that it was our first time here, but she didn't seem to care and offered no help or suggestions. Now about the food. It was extremely disappointing. I got the caprese sandwich and creamy potato soup. The sandwich was bland, the bread was hard, and the soup was not creamy at all. My partner got the brisket sandwich, which atleast had the flavor of bbq sauce, and the macaroni and cheese bread bowl. The macaroni and cheese was worse than Velveeta. Right - don't come here if you want a quick meal. We were the only ones in the building and it still took a long time to make a bowl with soup. Literally just ladle the soup and put the bread into the box. The guy serving us appeared to be high as well and in slow mode. Every tome we come here it's the same thing. We were so excited to find this place because we love their bread. It was one of the best meals we had then entire trip- the area doesn't seem to be known for their food, but these sandwiches did not disappoint. They do offer sizes that are different from most other sandwich shops; my son got the 8 inch and I got the 6 inch. He had turkey with provolone and I had the turkey with dry salami, their house spread and veggies. We both had them toasted and they were flavorful and fresh. My son got a cup of the potato soup and he really liked it, and my daughter liked the clam chowder and Mac and cheese. The service was good- they were friendly and took our order quickly but didn't offer up suggestions for us or the older couple in front of us (both of us being there for the first time). The food came out (to-go) about 10 minutes after ordering. The one down side was we got some canned cokes to take back to our hotel and he laid them all down in a small plastic bag and one of them must have been leaking or open and it made a giant puddle in the bag. The restaurant itself is really nice and clean on the inside and they have plenty of indoor (no outdoor) seating. When we asked, the clerk started to wrap them up, and we asked "are they still hot" so he threw them in the trash and started over. The supervisor came out and we complained. She looked at one sandwich, and told clerk he had made it wrong, so she started a 3rd time. At this point it was just comical! After 30 minutes we finally left with the 3rd round of sandwich, we supervisor trying to appease us with free cookies and soft drink. So...were they worth the wait - NOPE! Their sandwiches taste great, easily some of the best in town because of the bread. Ordering ahead is the way to go because it takes them way too long to make a walk up order. The consistency of their sandwiches is sometimes off. For example: sometimes you get sandwich slice pickles, other times pickle chips, once they even put spears in the sandwich. The main drawback here is price. The sandwiches are over priced for the local market. When your sandwich costs more than the Co-op, Piled High Deli, Hole In The Wall, and Central Sandwich, you might need to rethink your pricing structure. Additionally they upcharge for veggies that other places add for free. It just feels like the owner is trying to squeeze every penny out of their customers. Overall if you love Sourdough, this is a great option. If the bread is not your motivating factor, then there are better priced alternatives around! read more
