Mexican Omlet and one of the scrambles

Always love this place. Nice atmosphere. Exceptional food and reasonable prices. Nice size servings if you have a larger appetite or easily enough food to split the meal

Generously portioned comfort food. The menu rivals that of The Cheesecake Factory but with much friendlier staff and food that is clearly handcrafted. Diner style with lots of booth seating. Just off the freeway.

Average diner with good customer service! We stopped by early morning on a roadtrip up to the redwoods and left satisfied.

    Easy to spot!

Kristina's is a throwback place. Unfussy, but also reliably good. First off, we had the most cheerful server I have ever had at a restaurant! I wouldn't say there's a ton of ambiance, but it's a exactly what it needs to be. From our booth we could see the huge grill and vent hood - which looked sparkly and perfectly clean, too. I had a chicken cheese steak that came with really great fries. All of it hot from the grill or fryer. And a tasty strawberry lemonade with chunks of fresh strawberry floated on top. A great surprise! I can imagine that it's hard to get a table here on a weekend morning. Plus their menu is really expansive!

Tater tot nachos and Redwood club

We found this place while driving to our hotel and decided to stop by after checking in. We're so glad we did as this place gave us Midwest diner vibes and the portions are huge! The worker was really sweet and helpful with the menu. For drinks, we got the hot chocolate and coffee. The hot chocolate was made of a semi-sweet chocolate and was good but I would've preferred milk chocolate. We got the popcorn shrimp as an appetizer and it was perfectly cooked as it was lightly battered so we could taste the flavor of the shrimp. The fries were crispy on the outside but wasn't on the inside and tasted fresh. For mains, we got the tater tot nachos and the redwood club. The nachos were delicious as the portion was huge and there was a good amount of toppings such as cheese and sour cream on top. The redwood club was perfectly toasted and the cheese was nicely melted on the grilled chicken. The sandwich also came with a good amount of avocado pieces as well. I would definitely recommend this place and would come back if I'm ever in the area!

Excellent breakfast foods and a very welcoming experience in this truly "old time looking" diner! Come get your breakfast foods here: you will not regret it. We had the biscuits and gravy and the 3 egg and sausage links breakfast and combined them to get the best of both worlds- needles to say: we are satisfied and happy! Prices are good too!! We ate our food too fast - lol- no food pictures today!

    French dip

We stopped in after driving Avenue of the Giants, heading to PCH. Our waitress was so cheerful, we ordered French dip and fries and Patty Melt and fries. Our food came quickly, there were only a few other patrons. You never know with French Dip, if a restaurant serves good beef or if it's fatty. This beef was perfect. Huge side of fries, I couldn't finish them. The patty melt , according to my husband, was very good as well. The poor waitress was running her tail feathers off, as more customers came in, as well as to go orders being picked up. She was extremely kind and sweet to everyone. They really need to hire another waitress. She was literally running at times. Good diner food, reasonable prices and nice service. Give that girl a raise!

Homemade Corned Beef with eggs and Hashbrowns
    Ken B.

This place is medium sized with lots of windows to make it nice and bright. Menu has a lot of options, so I am sure you will find something you are craving. Breakfast all day is always a plus. I had the corned beef 3 egg breakfast with hash browns and scrambled eggs. The corned beef was awesome! It was tender and flavorful, just the right amount of salt. The hash browns were excellent as well, nice and crispy on the outside and moist on the inside . My husband ordered the ham and cheese crepe with country potatoes. The crepe filling was perfect but the hollandaise was broken and looked unappetizing to me. The potatoes could have used more seasoning and were unevenly cooked. My husband ate his fill but wasn't impressed with his food like I was. Service was great as well. The staff were friendly and always wore smiles. Our coffee mugs were never close to empty or cold. All in all a good experience for both us!

He's always said good things, but I've never eaten here. I finally decided to come in today. It's a nice place. It's clean, and everybody is friendly. Just a nice simple neighborhood restaurant vibe. I decided to go with the taco omelette. Taco meat, cheddar, onions, olives, and diced tomato. It also came with a salsa, guac,, and sour cream on the side. Instead of potatoes, I got a nice cup of fruit. The omelette was big, and it was delicious. Lots of fillings, the beef was well seasoned, and the other taco fillings just went well with each other. The sour cream was good, the salsa was not spicy, it had a little bit of a smoky flavor, and the guac was excellent. It had a good flavor, it was more than just mashed up avocado. The coffee was also good, and they kept my cup full. The price was very reasonable, and they do a military/veterans discount. I'm glad I finally stopped in here. I will be back. Thank you.

I ordered the French Toast Special, which includes eggs and a choice of sausage or bacon. As someone who doesn't eat meat, I asked if I could substitute it for something small like toast, fruit, or potatoes. I was told substitutions weren't allowed, but she can just not include the meat. Since the full price still applied, I chose to keep it for my husband. Despite clearly mentioning that I don't eat meat, it was served directly alongside and touching my French toast, which was disappointing. After our food was delivered, our waitress never returned. It appeared her shift had ended, but no one else checked on us. After waiting quite a while (with only one other table occupied), we had to get up and request the check ourselves. The food itself was underwhelming. The French toast was quite dry, with an overwhelming amount of powdered cinnamon that threw off the flavor. We were served right away and the hostess was very nice and located at two top for us. The wait person was lovely and immediately accommodating. The menu was interesting and inviting. I had to laugh out loud as there is an item on the menu referencing Pee-wee's Playhouse from my childhood. I even asked if it was a Gen X restaurant and sure enough the chef is of my generation. I'm including a picture so IYKYK! The waitress had shared all of the specials, and I was intrigued by the flat iron steak option. It was a flat iron steak with marsala mushroom sauce, and mushroom risotto and asparagus. It was delightful! The meat was perfectly cooked and tender with a lot of beef flavor, offset by a rich marsala mushroom sauce. It was perfectly complimented by one of the top mushroom risotto I have had in my life. It was delectable. And the grilled asparagus side paired nicely with the beef and marsala sauce. It even had a little bit of lemon on the asparagus, which is my preference for it! Overall, this is probably in the top five of all of the restaurant meals I've had in my life. My husband had the mixed beef burger with fries. He said he really enjoyed the burger, and I did steal a tiny taste, and it was perfectly cooked and had a slight gameness that gave it some depth. My husband said that the bun was very nice as well. The fries were perfectly cooked. The burger was perfectly cooked and it wasn't over juicing nor dry. Overall, a really great burger! Funniest thing we noticed was that all of the chairs that were sitting on a cement floor had been given rubber caps for each of the legs so that when you moved the chair, it didn't make a horrible sound. Literally extra 10 points for that alone! I wish this location well and look forward to stopping in the next time we are in the area.

My wife had the filet mignon, while I ordered the rib eye. I asked our waitress about upgrading to the pricier dry aged rib eye, and she surprisingly talked me out of it saying the regular rib eye was really good. She was right. The combination of the grilling and the buttery sauce was delicious. It didn't need any additional sauce, but out of curiosity I tried the house sauce that was on the table, and it was quite nice. The restaurant reduced the cost of my entree by 20%. Although the kitchen got behind I believe this was actually a failure of management. I found this restauraunt on Yelp and we reserved it for my birthday dinner on a Saturday night. We sat by the window and had a beautiful view of the sunset and bay. Upon being seated we were served some bread with some whipped butter mixed with some sort of seafood I believed? I forgot, but the butter was delicious. Our first round of bread however, was average at best and was very dense and doughy. The next rounds of bread were significantly better though, so maybe there's an inconsistency with the way they bake their bread in-house. I ordered the seafood penne pasta and my boyfriend ordered the king salmon with risotto. Both were "specials" and were not on the menu. However after digging into reviews here, it seems they are not so much specials since both dishes have been served here for the past 7ish years. Seafood penne pasta: I would rate a 3/5, maybe a 2.5/5. The pasta itself was not al dente which was disappointing. The "star" of this dish was supposed to be the scallop, which was severely undercooked! It was super soft and mushy. The shrimp was alright...some were overcooked. The salmon was also dry. I think the only thing I really enjoyed was the mussels, clams, and the sauce. The sauce had some curry with a small kick to it. This dish was just okay. Escargot: We ordered as our appetizer, I'd give it a 3.5/5! The escargot was a little soft but paired wonderfully with the bread. Creme brûlée: 3/5. Our waitress kindly put a birthday candle on it for my birthday. :) I enjoyed it, and it was very custardy! The downside was that the sugar on top was too burnt. I can't speak much for my boyfriend's dish, I did have a bite of his salmon and it was alright, maybe a bit too salty. The service however was wonderful and our waitress was super kind and helpful. Maybe I would come back to try another dish if I'm back in the area.
