This place is just like a typical dinner. They have bar seating and booths that fit groups of four and five. Anything more than that seems like they could have trouble accommodating. Staff is friendly attentive and extremely efficient. 10/10 service! Food came out fairly quickly. Portions as you can see in the pictures are huge and trust me you'll be glad they are because you can take it to go and have a delicious meal twice in one day. They have an extensive menu so deciding can be difficult. Although with all of us getting something different it was all very consistent and tasted great all the way around. read more

We were staying at the hotel next door and went for dinner just because it was close and easy. Our waitress was super friendly. The food is kinda routine American food but had a wide variety of choices. We ordered two items to split-the nachos and the brownie sundae; each serving was enormous, probably enough for four people. This was some of the worst food... ordered the sampler, just old grease, cold mozzarella cheese sticks, onion rings without a single one having a ring shape nor inions inside. Main corse was a chicken Alfredo from hell. Garlic bread was a hotdog bun cut in half and grilled in a panini press, I also imagine that was the same way they defrosted that vinyl thick 4 year old chicken that had the taste of rubber and 8 times the salt required. The sauce however was the astonishing part!!! It smelled like vomit, tasted like old oil and baby formula. I'm convinced they used an expired can of prego Alfredo thats been sitting the sun creating its own biome of yet to be discovered bacteria. minestrone soup was watery without any real flavor and wilted vegetables that have been over cooked from a week ago. Gf got the French toast,, absolutely average Denny's quality. Service was ehhh they asked for refills way too much, and did not address us sitting there for 20 min trying to get the check even after making many attempts to stare down the waitress. $70 for actual trash. I'd rather have given that money to a homeless person to buy beer and remain hungry than give this establishment any money. If zero was an option I'd give it. read more

We came here for breakfast this morning and were impressed with the menu ... wow ! The food was delicious. We decided to come here for a late lunch/early dinner. My meal: 12 oz New York Strip steak w/mushrooms, sautéed veggies and baked potato along with a salad. (Garlic bread... I didn't eat but husband said was delicious). I was totally blown away by the abundance of delicious food. We are leaving the area tomorrow morning but this is a must place to visit. Great staff and again delicious food! read more

We love this place. This time out, I had he Patty Melt, she had the French Toast special. This place makes the best Patty Melt in the county. The onions are cut with precision, the rye was toasted precisely, the cheese covers all the meat. The burger was grilled to precision. Our server, Page, is a perfectionist. She was very attentive and focused on our needs. The ambiance is tourist focused. About every other booth features a hand painted local point of interest. One note of interest: the owner also runs Pepper's in Arcata and Fortuna. The. Menu at these three restaurants is the same, BUT the service at Kristina's, as well as the cooking, is far superior to either Pepper'slocations. read more

Again, while on my Eureka trip, this restaurant was situated next door within walking distance. I ended up eating here for 3 nights because I fell in love with the convenience and the wings. I ended up having two different burgers and a breakfast burrito for dinners. Everything was satisfactory, and the waitresses were always pleasant and attentive. read more

We ordered breakfast at 6pm after driving all day, super "grand slam" style breakfast for me, my wife had a veggie/potato/egg skillet and we shared a waffle. The food was delicious, surprisingly good for the price and very generous portions. Service was the highlight, we had the best diner waitress ever (sorry, didn't get her name). She was incredible, really. If you're staying at the Best western Humboldt Bay next door this is a great choice for a really great breakfast any time. read more

Review from kids: it was fast, and you didn't have to wait long, and it was good. Indeed, they ate all of their mac & cheese and grilled cheese and fried. I had a bite of my husband's veggie burger, and it was delicious and had generous, fresh toppings. I wish I had ordered that. I got an omelet and home fries, but it was all under salted and not very flavorful, drowning in sour cream and with seemingly more cheese than eggs. The home fries tasted like they were made that morning and reheated for dinner. I might have had an off-dish on an off-night, as 3/4 of us were pleased with their dinner. read more

It was 50 plus years since I've been in here. I've driven by a hundred or so times during work. It always catches my eye but life is too busy for me. I am sure, absolutely positive it's changed names a few times since...but this is a coffee shop of coffee shops. The location begs you to stop, the menu reads like a book, the room filled with chatter, clinking dishes and the cooks banter working the line. Old timers sit at the counter...I sit at the counter. My waitress was young, attractive and very professional on this busy weekend breakfast shift. I meant attentive but agree with spell check. Lol The food was fast, delicious...exactly what I wanted. We came here during our vacation to the Redwoods NP. The service was bad, the food wasn't very good, and the prices were very high. It was just the three of us. We wanted a mix of dinner and breakfast items, as my wife was really in the mood for the all-night diner style breakfast plate. My son wanted a chicken strip meal. I just wanted a country breakfast. Nothing too crazy. The order took ~35min to get out. So, we're just sitting there with drinks waiting while trying to keep our toddler busy. After 20min or so, my wife had to walk up to the front to ask for refills, as no one had come by. We thought... food has to be nearly done, right? There were barely 10 tables in the restraunt with customers and probably about half that many wait staff. Nope. My food came with biscuits and gravy. Just awful. Like paste with cut-up pieces of sausage hotdogs... I was just grossed out. No flavor other than uncooked flour and little sausage bits that seem like they forgot to add them u til it was under the heat lamp. My son's chicken strips were good, but even though we'd asked for the kids menu chicken strip meal, my wife pointing to the menu, they tried to charge us for a chicken strip basket meal, more than 2x the price! When I saw this and asked them to fix it, they instead tried to give me a $1 off the meal... it took them nearly 10min to fix the order and change the bill. Even so, the manager in the back was saying loudly "They got the meal, didn't they?" Acting as if we got the adult plate. It was 3 chicken stips and about a medium fries worth of soggy fries. If that's a $13 chicken strip meal... TL;DR: Skip it! read more

Stopped in at Kristina's while traveling through Eureka. Kristinas is a Diner With Diner food Ally Was our Server and she was on it very attentive making sure we had what we needed. We ordered the sampler Appetizer plate. It was HUGE full of fried Zucchini , Mozzarella sticks, onion rings , and nachos. Again Diner food I Ordered the Chili Baked potato, and we ordered the French dip beef and which with tater tots. The potato was a good size with chili and onions on it. The sandwich was good plenty of meat inside and dipping Au jus then there was a PILE of Tater Tots on the plate. If you want a kick back not fancy diner stop in at Kristinas it was worth 4 stars. If you're looking for a decently priced, large meal and something for everyone this is definitely the spot. Conveniently located in the same parking lot as the best western. The menu is HUGE and there's something for everyone. The restaurant has a diner feel with large private booths and it makes the dining experience relaxed and easy. The staff was friendly and attentive. The chicken alfredo was really yummy! Some of the things were a little bland (veggies, mashed potatoes) but I wouldn't say they were bad. Wish we would have known the meals were so large so we would have had room for one of the many desserts on the menu. Next time! We'll be back! read more

My hubby and I came into Kristina's around 4:30 after arriving in Eureka from Crescent City. We were just going to get something small to hold us until dinner since we hadn't eaten most of the day, but once we saw the menu, we decided to do an early dinner! It was amazing! Our waitress (I believe her name was Calissa) kind and helpful! We ordered large portions, but honestly they were good prices. I got the special of the day, which was a sirloin steak dinner. It was HUGE. Basically 1 lb of steak, garlic bread, a salad (or soup of the day if you choose), and a potato (I got a baked potato). The salad was good- nothing special, but still yummy. The steak was great! I only ate half- my hubby ate the rest later that night haha. The garlic bread was yummy and the baked potato was good- it came with sour cream and butter. My husband got the lasagna and really enjoyed it. Big portions! Come hungry!!! We wish we'd had room for dessert. Maybe next time we're in town! read more

I visited Kristina's Restaurant for breakfast - on my last day of vacation in the Arcata/Eureka area. I had driven by Kristina's several times in the week - and thought it looked "diner-ish" and so thought it might be good for breakfast. I opted for the breakfast dish entitled "Country Skillet." The food came up fairly quickly. Please note - this IS NOT served in a skillet. It's just a plate of food in layers: soft breakfast potatoes on the bottom, covered by egg, then a layer of sausage gravy and topped with chopped scallions. After tasting, I added some black pepper and hot sauce to the top of the dish. I ate the gravy layer and the eggs, but not the potatoes. I like breakfast potatoes to be crispy. I made an assumption that since the word "skillet" was used in the name of the dish - that the potatoes would be crisped up. They are not not. Don't make my mistake. Overall, the eggs in the dish were fine, the "gravy" was a tad bland. I like really "sausagey" gravy - and this was not it. Service was good. It was a tad warm inside the day I visited. I'd return here at least one more time - to try something else - and give the place another breakfast chance. #KristinasRestaurant read more

Everything was cooked very well and the ingredients were fresh. Very good value for $35 with beverages. I was very impressed with the atmosphere as the open kitchen put on display staff members who were genuinely have a good time and enjoying their work day. Was recommended by our hotel. Didn't get a chance to eat here, but was seated, brought water, ordered coffee and then everyone else that came in after us was served. Never got coffee or acknowledged by the 3 staff that passed us multiple times including the staff that took our coffee order. Got up and left. read more
