Not working very hard today
Nancy A.

Oh my goodness. I was trying to give the Vance Cafe one more chance. Three young ladies sat back there actually they were standing yakking and giggling, and I'm the only customer here and my toast sat on the counter for I don't know how long. Long enough for it to get cold. They didn't even bother to tell me it was ready. They weren't busy. I really am the only customer here.

Food and coffee was great. Staff was super friendly and service was fast. Went here on a nice rainy day and couldn't have been more pleased.

breakfast sandwich
Artemisia A.

I ordered a breakfast sandwich with ham, a fresh and thick egg patty, garlic aioli, Havarti cheese, and avocado on a toasted English muffin. It was tasty, though a bit overpriced for something I could easily make at home, even though the quality was very high. I also had a regular black coffee, which was good. The ambiance was perfect for getting work done--it was quiet enough to concentrate, and there was plenty of room to spread out my paperwork. The Wi-Fi worked well for me, although the attendant mentioned it can sometimes be spotty. The staff was kind and welcoming, which made the experience enjoyable overall, though the price might keep me from coming here regularly.

Absolutely love this place! I'm from not around here and so glad I found this cozy spot. The coffee has been excellent and food selection is superb

My family and I went here to enjoy a quick breakfast and coffee. When we walked in, this should have been our first sign to turn around... no one greeted us for a long time. We ordered our food and a latte. The latte tasted like warm milk with cinnamon-- no espresso taste at all. I literally had 3 sips. The food was not good. I understand this is a coffee shop but the flavors and quality were all off. The chilaquiles was really horrible, my biscuit for my breakfast sandwich was off in texture, I wouldn't call it a biscuit . The yogurt parfait was good and the avacado toast wasn't bad. I rarely write a bad review but we left without drinking the coffee, only taking a few bites of food. It was a waste of $.

Their breakfast sandwich is delicious. I had it with Havarti and ham on gluten free bread and it was prefect. Can't wait to have it again.

When are you going to carry splenda? Type one diabetics can't have sugar.

Splenda has been proven to be a neurotoxin, and also appears to play a role in some cancers. You may wish to do a little research on Google Scholar, and investigate alternatives. Best wishes.

I ordered the Mole latte which was very delicious (a little sweet but the spices were very complimentary).

The line wasn't too long of a wait, despite it being busy and understaffed. They had a cute location, and I really liked the dark wood throughout. They had a dedicated area for sitting, and some things like board games available for groups to enjoy while sipping their beverage of choice. I got a mocha frappé and enjoyed it. It hit the spot on a sunny Eureka day. To my surprise, I got a freebie, with the barista making more than what would fit in the cup. The excess was poured into an additional cup, and given for free. That was awesome. Speaking of the staff, they were great. Despite being a busy day and not many people working, they pushed through and i saw them handle all types of attitudes and customers with great care. I enjoyed my drink here for sure.

I came early in the morning and only had a donut and small coffee there and the price was reasonable. They have a seating area in front of their counter and a larger seating area adjacent. Lovely wall art that appears to be from local artist. I really want to give it 5 stars - the only downside was - and I have to be honest - there was a homeless man who came into the cafe and started yelling repeatedly at the clerk and other patrons. This is NOT the fault of the owners but when I'm in side of a restaurant or cafe and eating I think it's reasonable to want to feel safe. This was early in the morning and after this aggressive person left there were steadily more and more customers coming in and I felt safer/better This is a great place and I hope anyone who is visiting Eureka to stop by and enjoy this popular place

I was here a couple of days after Christmas,, and there was only one car in front of me in line. I waited and waited and waited, almost 10 minutes and nothing happening. I just left. Today, I was back in town, I was on Broadway, and so to be fair, I wanted to give them another shot. Again, there was only one car in front of me. At one point, she opened the window, and handed them a drink. It looked like she was making the drinks one at a time. At about the 10 minute mark, I honked my horn to let them know that I was waiting. The lady stuck her head out the window, looked at me, and I politely said, I've been in line almost 10 minutes. She didn't say I'm sorry, she didn't say I'll be right with you,, she just gave me a dirty look, and pulled her head back in the window. Once again, I left. Instead, I went over to jitter bean on Harris across the street from Safeway. There, I was behind three other cars, and even with three cars in front of me, I waited less than 10 minutes. At one point, one of the employees actually came out to the line, asked me what I wanted, took my reusable mug inside and then when I got to the window, my drink was ready. That's the way these places should be doing things. Sorry Gold, Rush, in this case, two strikes and you're out. . There are too many other coffee places in town that I can go to. Thanks anyway.

The produce section is my ultimate fave...so many fresh fruits and veggies! Apples, pears, lemons, pumpkins, grapes, plus a huge variety of tomatoes and mushrooms (king, oyster, wood ear, shiitake, etc.). And the salad greens? Fresh kale, lettuce, lemongrass, mint, basil, yummy! I also love their bulk section, tons of grains, rice, quinoa... you name it. And their alternative milks, so many options! Honestly, this place feels like a mashup of Whole Foods and Trader Joe's, but with that local, eco-friendly heart. The store is clean and well-maintained, staff are super friendly, and there's always fun little things to discover--local soaps, chocolates, jams, honey, wine, and seasonal displays. Plus, the sushi bar upfront is delicious. They also sell cute plants, candles, totes, which makes the store feel extra fun. Yes, it's a little pricier than other supermarkets, but for freshness, variety, quality, and that special eco-friendly, local vibe, it's totally worth it. This is my go-to store. Highly recommend!

It has a similar feel to Eureka Natural Foods on Broadway except the prices are higher on some items, but the hot deli and salad bar here are just as beautiful and stocked with nutritious selections. The GF thought the sushi bar upfront is a nice touch. The chefs were preparing fresh batches of Sushi on the spot while we were there. The produce section was impressive - loads of fresh fruits, veggies - Apples, pears, lemons, pumpkins, grapes, plus a huge variety of tomatoes and mushrooms (king, oyster, wood ear, shiitake, etc.). Wood Ear mushroom? In Eureka? I couldn't even find that in some Asian grocery stores in silicon valley.
