I have dreams about the beef bulgogi now. It is like a Korean fusion with fresh vegetables and I cannot get enough. I also had theParmesan Black Garlic Fries and I love how fresh the Parmesan is and that Black Garlic Aioli is spectacular. It is a food truck in the back of the Redwood Curtain Brewery, so it has some fun upbeat energy. Since it is a food truck the only interaction is when you order your food, but it is made fresh and quickly. If you stop by I recommend the bulgogi! read more

A brewery with a food truck attached to the side, the food was pub style. We ordered a smash burger, bulgogi bowl, Brussel sprouts, and fries. The smash burger came with two crispy charred patties that paired really well with the mayo and veggies. The bulgogi bowl was a huge portion and came with pickled veggies and some salad for a nice balance. And the fries came with a bunch of shaved cheese on top and some minced garlic. The fries were fried perfectly, but I didn't like the fry on the Brussel sprouts. They tasted like they had been deep fried, and soaked up all the oil read more

South G punches way above their casual food truck vibe! Conveniently parked permanently outside Redwood Curtain brewery they delivery incredible takes on standard pub cuisine. We saw their amazing reviews on Yelp and decided it was worth a try. We ordered from the friendly chef and were given a alert puck so we would know when our food was ready and went into the brewery, grabbed a table and a few pints and waited for our order to come up. When we grabbed our order we were shocked by the portions and the quality of the items. The double smash burger hit with super high quality beef and house made half sour pickles, grilled onions (by request) and special sauce on a brioche bun. better half got the fish and chips and was so happy. Very fresh tasting fish with just the right amount of crisp batter over a mountain of super crunchy, hot fries. There was also really good slaw and house tartar sauce. Last, but certainly not least was the giant bowl of flash fried Brussels sprouts with crunchy nuts, chili crisp and peanut sauce. It was so good we wanted to jump into the bowl and wallow around. This was arguably the best meal of our trip. Prices are very fair for the quality and quantity of the food. read more

They were out of most of the menu two hours before closing and didn't update the menu board resulting in people waiting in line having to scramble to pick different items after waiting 15+ minutes to place an order (they finally updated it after that kerfuffle) I waited 53 minutes for a burger and fries. A mom with her family who ordered after me asked for an ETA after a 30 minute wait and was dismissed with "we're busy", "there's a lot of people ahead of you" and when politely pressed for an estimate "I can't tell you how long it'll take, 20-30 minutes?" Just zero empathy as if it's normal or reasonable to wait nearly an hour for pub food without warning when you order I finished my entire beer flight while waiting for dinner and these guys could not be bothered to acknowledge the inconvenience much less FWIW the burger and fries were both quite good but I regret the choice to come here because of the experience it took to get there And to be clear the wait itself isn't a problem (though for being out of most of the menu, I found myself wondering about the efficiency of their process), it's not being clear up front about the backlog and not showing any compassion to the woman I saw gently asking about an ETA for her hungry kids read more

Don't know what the hype is but this place was average at best. Coming from the Bay Area, the burger was mediocre. Meat was tough, burger was soggy. However, the fries were pretty good and I would get those again. Service was unfriendly. read more

Some of the best food truck food I've had. Everything was super fresh and well cooked. Also really good options for both meat eaters and vegetarians. The menu is not large but still had good variety and really creative flavor combos. The smash burger was delicious. Meat not overdone and those homemade pickles were awesome. Fries were nice and crispy. The garlic on the Parmesan Black Garlic fries was a little toooo garlicky. My kid's tacos were fine. She naturally had them leave out everything delicious, but they were good sized at least. read more

We love fish and chips! These are hands down the absolute BEST fish and chips I've had in my life!!! This is a food truck associated with a brewery. The service was great even though they were very busy!! My only regret is we are traveling, I would love to try other items on their menu!! We will be back!! read more

The food is very good. You have to be very patient. We waited over an hour for our order. I would not arrive to this place hungry. Just order some fries and don't expect a full meal. Their prices are exorbitant and the wait is just too damn long. On the other hand, the beer here is great. read more

Back again to this yummy brewery and attached food truck. Bar service awesome, food truck busy but worth waiting for. It's a bar crowd so it's not quiet inside. Option: This time of year the outdoor seating is nice. read more

Great food truck parked at the back of a bar! Every bite was delicious! Fish and chips were great. Fish tacos came with a nice slaw. And the roasted brussels were decadent! Nice to be able to order a beer on tap from the bar and grab some food from the food truck that can be enjoyed in the same place. The bar isn't trying to serve drinks and cook food at the same time, so the food truck is super helpful so they each can focus just on what they do best. read more

Amazing team, so friendly! Really excellent food, I had the pulled pork breakfast burrito and it was several bites of smoky heaven!

Nice large beer selection with a mobile kitchen out back that serves some really good food--got the smash burger and garlic-truffle fries for a very decent price considering the quality of food. Outdoor tables in the back for a really nice, chill vibe. Otherwise, inside has tons of bar games like shuffleboard, board games, and everything else you'd need for a fun night out with friends. read more

A gastro pub kinda of vibe, with delicious and well crafted good casual eats. Probably not the kind of quality you would expect from a rural town brewery-- and you'll be presently surprised. They know how to throw down in this kitchen. A local treasure IMO. read more

Not sure what changed but today our South Jetty tacos were bland, fries were from the bottom of the barrel. My son showed up and ordered a burger, waited a good 45 minutes, when inquiring about his burger, since the people behind him got their food already the lady was rude to him. I get that stuff happens but was that necessary. Wondering if they have new owners. read more

holy smokes. I am speechless. The food is absolutely delicious. My boyfriend and I were on our way from fern canyon and needed a good meal. I got the Fish Sando and my boyfriend got the wagyu burger and beef bulgogi bowl. The fish sando was absolutely phenomenal. It was crispy yet beautifully buttery. The toppings made the flavor even more fantastic. As for the burger, the meat was perfectly cooked and tasted BOMB! The bulgogi bowl was sweet with a little tang. Service was great, came out super fast. PLEASE STOP HERE. read more

Great food! We ordered two smash burgers, and split fries and a small salad. Salad was incredibly delicious, quality ingredients were used. This place was delicious! My partner and I were visiting Arcata at the end of December and obviously needed to stop at some breweries, so when we wanted to find some outdoor seating for a beer and a snack, we chose redwood curtain/south g kitchen. We weren't super hungry, so we just wanted a snack. We were eying the danky bread, but they were out of it so we went to our next option, the Brussels and peanuts. I am so glad they were out of the danky bread because these were INCREDIBLE and gave us everything we wanted/needed! It was a crispy and crunch and also creamy and some spiciness and acid. We liked it so much we were wondering if we could make something similar ourselves at home. I will say as an fyi that if you have allergies to cashews and macadamia nuts, there were a few mixed in with the peanuts--I'm not sure if that's normal for them or not! We don't have food allergies so it was just a fun surprise for us! The service was friendly and fast, and we love being able to sit outside and look at the redwoods while enjoying our food. read more

Great burgers and the fries are awesome. Got the beef tacos too though and those were a miss. Great beer next door makes it even better

The food here is always good, if not excellent. Seriously, order anything, they're consistently good. Best fries in Humboldt, IMHO, carnivore or not, you'll find something here. Bring back the cheesesteak, the bread excuse is lame. Service is hit and miss, most of the time it's good, but there's one or two individuals that are consistently dealing with a sore tooth. The food is so good it doesn't faze me. Plus it's at the Curtain, so after the first pint I don't even notice. read more

Love this place! My 1st stop when coming back to Humboldt. Their beef tacos with black garlic aioli- the best!

What great fast service and excellent food! We have been meaning to check this place out for a while. We finally visited on a Saturday lunch visit and ordered two smash burgers and fish and chips. This was by far the best burger we have had in the county, but also the best fish and chips we have ever had. Crispy, fresh hot delicious fries accompanied our meals and we all left very full and happy. We will definitely be back! read more

Garlic fries started off as an amazing concept and then devolved into a soggy, unenjoyable mess. South G kitchen has not only resurrected them, but has greatly improved upon the original. The fry part of this dish is perfectly crispy on the outside and soft and pillowy on the inside. They come out of the kitchen covered in fresh garlic strong enough to keep vampires, Sasquatch, the cartel, government entities, and your mother in law at bay for a minimum of a decade. They are generous with that and the mountain of Parmesan that expertly hides the garlic that lurks upon these beholden beauties. The black garlic aioli is so perfect with the fries with its sweet umami flavor. Dip the fry into this and then the Parmesan garlic and it makes a perfect bite. 100 million/ 10 recommend. We also ordered the South Jetty Tacos with fried rockfish. The tacos were generously sized and loaded with fresh ingredients. 10/10 recommend these as well. read more

Located on the backside of Redwood Curtain Brewing, you access the food truck going through the brewery. Outside covered seating area, that is fenced off and is attached to truck so you can sit there and enjoy your meal under cover and in the fresh air. Ordered the Fish and chips, with local Rockfish and panko breaded, deep fried to a golden brown, and seasoned fries, and slaw... and that was the downside the slaw, it was bland and very large chunks? not sliced very thin at all, and actually did not taste very good in comparison to the fish and chips, unpleasant to eat - it was sadly a disappointment, it almost felt like a complete after thought on my plate. The black garlic spicy beef tacos, the order comes with two flour torillas loaded with shredded beef, red onions, garlic and a spicy crema. These are good as well, full of flavor (from my sampling) and nicely seasoned - not my choice, but if you like beef tacos these will mostly fit your bill. Another good food, taco truck attached to another brewery that needed good food - worth a visit My drawbacks - access only through the brewery and the lack of prep and finish on the slaw with my fish and chips 3.5 Stars - rounded up for the local Rockfish 00751 read more

The bright and bold colors of the food truck and menu represent the flavor palette well! The garlic oysters with pickled shallots were amazing. $8 for three. Any sit down restaurant would easily be charging twice that. I was set on getting fish tacos but when I read the beef taco description, I ordered those also. Two of us shared all of this food. Both tacos were tremendous. Very impressive fare considering the size of the kitchen. Pleasant and clean setting. My husband thought the Redwood Curtain beer was quite good also. Check out the Redwood Curtain Brewery, if your hungry order the fries, can't go wrong with the fries. I'd say the smash burger is a 4 star. The tofu bowl is a 2.5 star, made of a heap of cheap rice and very little greens (very dry), and the fish and chips are solid 3 stars. read more

Really fantastic menu! My husband and I have very different cravings and palettes and so South G's offerings were a surprising find - they offer a range of typical brewery food, Asian-fusion items, and even vegan options. So it's great if you're going for either a healthy or not-so-healthy meal. What we got: - Black garlic truffle fries: Definitely a great portion size compared to what we were expecting. Unfortunately we were unable to finish them. The garlic was just way too overwhelming for us. Not being able to finish fries is a VERY rare circumstance for us. - Pad Thai tacos: HAD to get this simply because I hadn't seen such a thing before. I thought the shrimp was cooked really well and the spicy sauce was tasty. However, I actually don't think it really reminded me of Pad Thai (which is obviously what I was hoping for). I think what would make this really good is if they actually did incorporate cooked Pad Thai noodles in the tacos. I'm salivating just thinking about it. - Burger: My husband enjoyed this! I took a bite and I thought it was really juicy and flavorful. Service was great and friendly. I have no idea if the food is good. Food was ready 13 minutes before "promised time" and was stone cold by the time we got there to pick up. Was handed three boxes, no bag. No utensils, no napkins, no ketchup for the fries. Seems like they should have this worked out, being that it is a foos truck and is taken to-go. Unexpressive customer service. Won't be back. read more

Danny and his crew are killing it. This yogi bowl is absolutely packed with flavor and lasts me two whole meals. We've also gotten the jetty tacos, smash burger and brussel spouts.
