Tuesday's in the myrtletown parking lot 11:30am to sell out! This place is phenomenal, got a poke bowl (2 proteins and one side) + a side for 17$! I usually get the shoyu and California dreamin with crab salad and kimchee cucumber. Quick service, which is perfect for my lunchtime meal.
I think Big Island Kine is the closest thing to authentic poké experience. If you have never tried poké before and feel hesitant, give them a visit and ask for samplers. All the staff members are very friendly, polite, and respectful. My personal experience: I never had poké before, and after I got married my husband was so sad that I did not even want to entertain the idea of eating something raw like poké and sushi. He would always tell me how delicious it was, and that he would love to share that with me.This year I really wanted to surprise him and have this as my gift for him, to try poké and sushi. I did lots of research and lots of thinking before I decided to try. Big Island Kine was feature on Guy Fieri Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives show, watch it if you can. It's actually what made me change my mind and be more open to the idea of trying poké. I finally tried it this year and it would an understatement to say it was just good. It was really yummy, fresh, smells and looks really great. Their signature sauces is super tasty and spicy and goes very well with all the options of poké. All of selections are super delicious, but my top combo is the sweet heat and California dreamin'. For accurate hours and updates follow their IG account: @bigisland_kine
Definitely a great way to satisfy a sushi craving on the go! I ordered the Sweet Heat which is definitely spicy. It was too hot for me to order again, but definitely enjoyed it this time. The other is the Shoyu Aloha which was very good and I would get again. For my side I chose the imitation crab which good for imitation crab. Love the seasoning on the rice. Next time I want to try the wasabi special, if they have it. There was a line, but it was also lunch time. Waited 10 minutes and it was worth it. Price was fair. Service was friendly. I'll definitely be back and recommend to a friend!
Still is the best poke place in town...basically, in loveeee it so much. All the flavors, the fish is always fresh, and the cherry on top is the amazing service! They always satisfy my poke craving.
Been wanting to try Big Island Kine food truck for a long time and since they were nearby home today I had to do it! Wanting to get a "flavor" for as many things as possible in one sitting I ordered the plate which came with 3 different poke's Shoyu, Hawaiian Heat, and the Sweet Heat. All were delicious, but my favorite was the Sweet Heat! The plate comes with 2 sides so I opted for the Mac salad and Kimchi Cucumbers. Both were delicious! I'm always apprehensive when ordering Mac salad from anywhere because it's usually way to sweet. This wasn't sweet at all which made it perfect to me. Outstanding food! P.S. they are up in McKinleyville today by the Tattoo shop on top of Bella Vista.

Great spot for lunch around Humboldt county. Have to check for their location on their social media as they're in a different spot every day. Takeout only so enjoy it on a nice day! Fish is high quality and the shoyu aloha was excellent. Great flavor and not too sweet. Crab salad and salmon poke were both spicy mayo based, but I thought it needed more spice. Overall, good quality fish and good quantity for what you pay. Nice to have a place like this in and around Arcata! Overall: 4.2/5 read more

Excellent poke great price and local cider is right there too? What could be better! Highly recommend. Even better if you can catch them (as we did) right beside a locals watering hole. read more

Big Island Kine catered our son and his new bride's wedding celebration and everyone raved about how great the food was! The poke and sides were EXCELLENT! We had the perfect amount of food for 45 guests and there were NO leftovers for anyone to take back with them. I own and promote an annual event/festival in the Bay Area called Thrift Fest where we support vintage vendors and makers. If I was able to have food trucks at our venue I would definitely want them there as a food option for our 4k visitors! They would sell out. We love poke and this was one of the BEST I've had! read more

Sooo ono!! This was such a delicious bowl to eat, I savored every bite. The seasoning and texture is spot on. Some of the best poke I've had outside of the islands. Friendly service and fresh grinds. Mahalos for your food! New favorite spot. read more

We lived in Hawaii for four years and this is the real deal: excellent, fresh poke served in several flavors. The truck relocates frequently, but always posts updates on Facebook as to location and hours. Highly recommend!!! read more
