We had the best experience with Pineapple Express for our wedding catering!!! The pork sliders and spam masubi were a huge hit with our guests. For the main dishes we went with pulled pork, chicken katsu, and seared ahi. I'm not a fan of fish, but this ahi was amazing. Everyone was raving about how awesome and unique it was to have a food truck for wedding catering. Big shout out to Codi and crew for making our big day absolutely perfect!

I've never been to the food truck, but have wanted to eat here since they opened their brick and mortar in the old "Humboldt Soup Company" building. I came in on a Thursday at about 6:30, , and the place was packed. even after waiting in line, there was a 30 minute wait to get food. I left. The next day, I did the smart thing and called ahead I ordered the loco moco. They said, "Sandwich, or plate"? I've never heard of a loco moco sandwich. I ordered the plate. I drove down. You can pick up your food inside, or you can go to the drive up window. I picked up my food, and headed home. Overall, it was good! The mac salad was creamy and delicious. The rice was a big portion, and perfectly done. The burger was a good size, tender and delicious, and also had mushrooms and onions. 2 minor misses for me. The eggs were good, but were just slightly overdone. When I popped them, I didn't get the amount of runny yolk that I love. Part of the yolk was solid. Also, while the gravy was good, I wish there had been more of it. The price was a tiny bit on the high end, but very worth it. I want to come back and try other things. Thanks!!!

The best Hawaiian in Humboldt (and maybe on the mainland). Coconut shrimp is to die for. The sauces are insane, the flavors are so robust. I love the garlic chicken, katsu chicken, poutine chicken, and even the Khalua pork sandwich. Guava nectar also divine. I love this place. Do not miss it when you're in town.

The katsu chicken was good tasted like BBQ sauce. However, I'm disappointed in the garlic shrimp plate. I was hoping for something tasting similar to the North Shore Giovanni's shrimp truck but unfortunately it didn't. Very burnt taste.

Combo Plate: Spicy Garlic Chicken, Popcorn Chicken, Mac Salad, 2 Scoops White Rice - $18.50 April 2026

this place and the beach are the highlight of Eureka. it's classified as a food truck on Yelp and Google, but it's like a cafe/restaurant (there are chairs and tables inside you can eat at) with a drive through for pick up orders only. it's affordable and the portion sizes are HUGE ! pictures don't do it justice. i ordered the combo plate with popcorn chicken, spicy garlic chicken, white rice, and the mac salad. this is some of the best food i've ever had. the chicken is deep fried but so soft, juicy, and tender. definitely eat at this spot :)

This place is consistently cooking up great food! We've had them at the food truck located at the Eureka Friday Night market. Great little spot, cool breeze, great people and welcoming. They try pumping out food as fast as they can, because they are in DEMAND, but every plate is made with love and some island magic, you can just taste it.

The music, the service, and the food were ALL top tier. Tofu Stir Fry was SOOO GOOD. Like stop eating and write a review good. Come try it out! They got us our food so quick too. Definitely recommend.

Delectable! I had the shoyu chicken and wish I knew the best words to use to encourage everyone to try this plate. This chicken is really great, very tender with a hint of sweetness. Brown rice and macaroni salad accompanied the chicken, which was served in a bed of tasty cabbage. I will get the green salad next time since I'm not a huge fan of Mac salad (had to try it once though) but gonna have to go for the shoyu chicken again because when I find something that I find absolutely delightful, it's difficult to not order it. (In Arcata, you can now find the Pineapple Express truck on Fridays in a parking lot on F Street, back behind the Cal Poly store on the Plaza.)

The last time we came up to Eureka, we didn't have a chance to visit this restaurant. However we made the time a couple of weekends ago and I'm so happy we did. The food was fantastic!! I got the island fish fry and it was fantastic. The fish was crispy and light, it didn't feel greasy at all. The sauce was a chili garlic aoli which complimented the fish well. The fries were perfectly fried, and they were topped with katsu sauce and the same aoli that was used with the fish, and topped with furikake. I really wanted to finish the plate, but I ended up taking half of it home and it was still delicious after being air fried. My fiancé got the Northern Island style shrimp and it was good! He said it was more of a soy garlic sauce which was delicious. The shrimp was huge, and the sauce was sticking to the shell perfectly, and the rice was a great pairing for it. The slaw was kind of okay, we think it needed some more acid to balance out the richness of the shrimp. It didn't really have too much flavor to it in our opinion. The mac salad was good, always have to order it whenever we get any Hawaiian food. The noodles were just beyond al dente which gave them a nice texture. It was creamy and had a bit of herbiness to them which was really nice. My fiance said it tasted like home cooked Hawaiian food, and we enjoyed everything there. The restaurant was cute and it was easy to find since the building was painted a teal-ish color. It was starting to get pretty busy when we came in, a lot of tickets were being printed and it seemed like a good amount of orders were phone orders. They had two gaming machines and sold stickers too, and I wish I bought the musubi and shrimp sticker! I would love to come back here the next time I head up to Eureka.

The food was amazing! I'll dream about going back to this place every night. We ordered the garlic chicken fries, loco moco, and the chicken sandwich. B O M B.

Started out as a food truck and now has a store front. What can I say! Its was amazing. Visiting the area and happen to be next door at another restaurant. Watching a continuous stream of people go in on a Wednesday night def had me thinking it was the spot. The next day for lunch I paid a visit. The Katsu chicken was amazing! Also indulged in the dynamite fries. It's a much try! Service was decent, he was young and it was busy. I ended up taking it to go because the place was full. 100% worth it.

Delicious! Have been coming here since I landed in Humboldt County and haven't looked back. Service is outstanding and everyone looks like they love their jobs. Vibes are cool in this quaint little restaurant giving that Hawaiian feel. Recommend anyone that's local if they haven't been there already and EVERYONE that's visiting :)

Island Style fish and chips. Amazing.

I am still thinking about the food here. We drove through Eureka and I was a little concerned because not that many places were looking good on Yelp. My husband has pretty specific dietary needs so we tend to stick with asian food. The pictures of the food for pineapple express are what got me, it looked really good on yelp and once we read reviews saying there was an eat-in location we decided to head here for lunch. It was pretty busy, there were a few people in line and not many available tables, but once we ordered there were a couple tables available so that was not an issue. My husband ordered the shoyu chicken with double rice and I ordered the Island Style fish and chips. The food came out so much faster than I thought and looked soooo good, I was practically drooling. One bite of the furikake fries and I was in love. The sauce... omg... the sauce. It was so freaking good that I went through probably half the fries before even touching the fish. When I did take a bite of the fish... heaven. So tender, perfectly cooked, crispy breading and not super fatty or greasy. I ate the entire thing which was a terrible idea because it was way too much food for me. I was painfully full afterwards, but it was a really healthy (or not) portion size. My husband said his chicken was cooked perfectly and really enjoyed his food. I didn't try any because the portion of chicken was a bit small and he couldn't eat mine due to previous mentioned dietary restrictions plus I was already struggling with my own meal. The very nice and helpful woman in front of me in line told me she is obsessed with the coconut shrimp so I would probably try that next time, but unfortunately we don't live anywhere near here *sob*. Honestly, I would probably drive the 11 hours it takes to get from LA to Eureka just to eat here again, it was that good! Go get some!

So beware and check the weather before going and dress accordingly. It's nice on sunny days but then you have to be mindful of the UV. I appreciate our waitress getting our drinks and food out to us through the chaos of people being seated outside, then being reseated inside when room opened up, or like one table, just leaving! Their plum sake is very good, smooth and light. I also got a hot tea but that was only hot for a moment out there, the sake definitely did more to keep us warm. Their ramen bowls are now my favorite in downtown, the pork is DELICIOUS, the broth could be a drink on its own and the marinated egg has a perfectly soft yolk; it's a very pretty dish. My favorite sushi is split between the Russian roulette and the ocean queen (I think that's its name).

I left with the worst heartburn and likely due to whatever they fried it in. Golden salmon "specialty" roll. Meh. I've had a lot better at the other locally sushi places. Service: horrible. The place was 30 per cent full. It's Humboldt so I don't expect service to be quick. But the attitude of the wait person was abominable. I felt like we were wasting their time. Like they had somewhere else to be. Mind you this was 3pm on a Sunday afternoon. We saw them once again when they slapped down the check. Then they came to get it a few minutes later and we felt hurried out the door. The bus person was seen whisking food and debris off the tables instead of wiping them down. Several tables. The waiter's attitude was hurried, impatient, and not even a "how is your meal". Ambience: it was nice to be out on the deck. Otherwise nothing special. The host podium is crowded with stuff around it. It looks like they are storing things in the entrance. After hearing so much about how nice and it was, I was disappointed. I'd eat somewhere else and ride the elevator up to walk around the non-restaurant part of the rooftop to see the view. Honestly.

Cheese corn was sweet and honestly a good pairing with the very soury/ pickled soup. The kung pao vegetables would have definitely fooled me if I wasn't told it was mushroom. The batter holds on the oyster mushrooms just like chicken does. Well seasoned. Service was very impressive - there was a single waitress serving lots of tables. It's your #1 place for nondescript bites of gristly thigh-meat and steamed cabbage/vegetable mix…read moreover rice or noodles! If you've ever been to a quick order Japanese teriyaki joint in any mall, you probably already know what to expect here. Beef, chicken, or shrimp (or a combination thereof) over fried/steamed rice or chow mein noodles with a steamed veggie mix on the side. Double chicken for a couple bucks more. All cooked to order on a grill right out front. Maybe some questionable boxed sushi as well. I usually get the teriyaki chicken meal with steamed rice and veggies. While this is definitely mall food (the bar isn't that high) I do have to say that things have changed for the worse over the past half-year or so that I've eaten there. I stopped recently because along with the subpar chicken, the sauce has gotten worse too. My beef with the chicken (Nyuk nyuk nyuk) is that the pieces tend to be gristly and thigh meat in general is pretty high in fat. The real nail in the coffin though is the sauce. In the past few months, something about the teriyaki sauce has changed to where there's no sweetness to it, and a lack of a distinct soy flavor which to me are essential parts of the flavor of teriyaki. As such it tastes more like a watered-down gravy which just doesn't resemble teriyaki at all. The last time I ate there I was about 1/4 of the way through my meal when I thought "I don't like the chicken and I don't like the sauce.....why am I eating this?" So I ditched it and haven't been back since. So all that really leaves is one star for decent service.
