There asada taco is decent enough to eat. I ate 3 varieties of tacos and no flavor really. But their shrimp tacos literally only has 2 peices of shrimp per taco, like serious that sucks. Just popped in for a snack here, but it was super authentic feeling! Just run by a sweet mother son team and he was helping her learn English! Chile relleno burrito was bland; stuffed mostly with dry, under flavored rice, two small limply breaded, soggy chiles with 3 (count 'em, THREE) beans in the whole thing. The white cheese was also pasty and tasteless. I make chile rellenos myself and always stuff them with 2 or three kinds of cheese to give them depth. There were no vegetables at all, except 2 tiny pieces of onion. Cilantro? No. Tomatoes? No. Salsa? No. My husband is Mexican and had ordered salsa with of all our 4 burritos, only one, the shrimp burrito, had any salsa at all! We looked to see if they had included salsa on the side since we had all requested it...nope! I make burritos without rice myself, but I'm good with some rice, as long as there are a good amount of beans, onions cilantro, guac etc along with the rice and it is well seasoned and not dry. This was truly just almost all just rice and into the garbage it went! Needless to say, I only ate about a fourth of it...made me feel not only ripped off but unhealthy just to look at all those carbs with the huge amount of dry under seasoned rice and the greasy sogginess encasing the sad little chiles. I Just couldn't eat that s...t. Actually, we were all disappointed. The carnitas taco was very good and kept me from going hungry, that's why the 2 stars instead of zero. Great service, always cold beverages and home made tortillas. Meat definitely taste like it was made earlier that day then reheat it up on the grill. Which is OK, but when the meat is already cooked pretty well and then cook some more it's like rubber. I got a Streak and Carnita taco. Both were pretty dry. I've been a regular customer here for awhile because the food is always great. The chile relleno and al pastor burritos are my favorite. Today however, my relleno was stuffed with bread and a whole pepper stem...not the usual at all. I noticed different staff in the truck as well. I was perplexed at the bread stuffing, but once I pulled out the stem I tossed the whole thing. I won't be a customer again unless I see the usual people working there. read more

Pros: you can order via phone; the salsa is good; handmade tortillas; and the people who work in the truck are nice. Cons: meat is dry-- if they were to just keep some of the meat juice and spread it over the meat... man, this place would be the best taco truck in arcata. If you go to la Barca, their pastor has the juice from the meat with it and it is sooooo good. I would love to see la Bonita do that because their food is good, but their meat is noticeably dry. read more
