I ate here regularly in 1997, when they parked across the street from Broadway Medical (my crappy job at the time). The burritos were huge and amazing, and they had the best salsa roja I've had to this day. Judging by the reviews, the next generation has carried on a tradition of excellence. I miss a lot of things about Humboldt County, but nothing more than this taco truck. How DARE Yelp accuse me of being from Frisco! I despise Frisco! I live in Manila, Philippines and wouldn't go within 50 miles of Frisco, even if I made the mistake of going back to California. (Yes, I know they hate it when people call it "Frisco." We were visiting and decided to stop and try this out. Food was delicious! I ordered the chicken flautas, they are HUGE! The chicken was super flavorful, perfectly crispy tacos with lettuce, crema, mozzarella cheese and I got the salsa and guacamole on the side. I've been eating here since they opened and the food is always really good. I moved away for 5 years and not a day went by that I didn't miss this place. Everyone in Eureka has their own go-to order, mine is the chile verde burrito and/or chile relleno burrito (regular not super) but if I'm eating with someone else I usually just get the same thing they ordered, or sometimes if the person in line ahead of me orders something that sounds interesting I'll just copy their order. I've never been disappointed, not once, and I've probably eaten here a few thousand times. read more

The food is almost always amazing, and the only reason I said almost is because ONE time the meat was a little on the drier side! The street tacos with carnitas is our usual alongside bean and cheese burritos and they're addictive!! Haven't been here in years, we tried to go a few days ago, but when we parked and got up to order.... There was a sign saying cash only. My favorite. I've come here ever since I was a kid with my dad, prices are great and food is great. I highly recommend their super burrito for only like $8, their chicken quesadilla, and their street tacos. If you're not sure if you'll like something I'm sure if you get it you'll love it. Expectations were low, result was amazing. We ordered three chicken tacos, the speedy asada burrito and a horchata. The tacos were the best, perfect combination of spice and veggies, loved the radishes. The burrito felt a fantastic deal in taste and portion size for under $10 in California. This is the spot to go when you either have cash in your pocket or are on the go and don't mind sitting outside enjoying the weather. I enjoy their food especially being from a Mexican household. Their burritos are pretty authentic especially when they allowed me to custom order my two favorites which are chile relleno and lengua! I completely lost my mind :-9 it was the right amount of cheesy and poblano Chile along with tenderness of the meat which complimented the food just right ! Not good! A 'Speedy special' taco. $3.85. It came with 2 small tortillas and 2 tablespoons of gravy/sauce (?) less than 1 tablespoon of minced chicken and some rice (?) in the sauce. This was topped with 1/2 a cup of Lettuce, literally. Sorry if this is their special taco, it needs a lot of work! I ordered a chili relleno for my husband with a side of beans and rice, they handed me a burrito with a single slice of green chili in it and over a half cup of lettuce. There was a small wad of cheese in the bottom of the burrito. Never again! read more

The food here is always solid. The super tortas are delicious. I prefer the pastor. I have tried all the tacos and they are all delicious. The service is always stellar and the wait is always reasonable. The prices are great for what you get. This truck and the truck in Mckinleyville are both recommended. read more

Had to update my review to 1 star. Always have received great food here since I can remember. But when I brought my little sister here to get food which she's always loved too, but wanted to try them again before deciding on who to have cater her wedding. She asked them about it. They said not really. But gave their number to her anyway. We got home, ate, all HATED the food. There's a reason Speedy Taco has been around for over a decade. I was going to speedy taco in high school and I'm 34 now and still IT's SO GOOD. I just got the shrimp cocktail and loved it. I've also been really satisfied with the taco salad and the speedy tacos. Nice people too. Fast service. Don't know how they do it but they make be proud to be in Eureka yum! read more

Delicious food - I usually get the asada tacos because they are filling and a great price and tasty pretty spicy. When I get a burrito I choose the salsa Verde or steak ranchero. The truck and surrounding area is well maintained clean and safe. The service is really friendly. read more

The high ratings and glowing reviews for Speedy Taco don't surprise me at all. This is simply the best taco truck this side of paradise. When I lived and worked in Eureka, Speedy Taco parked across the street from my place of employment every day around lunch. The temptation was too great to resist; I ate there most days, and then spent the next hour recovering, because their burritos are so enormous that I could barely move after wolfing one down. I have to admit that I didn't try many of Speedy's offerings. The first time I ate there, I had the carne asada burrito and adored it so much I hardly ever ordered anything else--and, as I stated, the burrito was so huge that ordering more food would have been a waste of money. This was the first Mexican joint I frequented that had salsa that I truly loved. The pureed red tomatillo salsa is spicy, tangy and may be ambrosia's spicy cousin. I nearly drank the stuff. Now I'm back in LA and I've been searching for a taco truck or restaurant that can compare to Speedy Taco. The only one I've found is in Pasadena, miles away, unfortunately, and while their salsa is delicious, it can't compare to Speedy's (though this place--Puebla Tacos--does make the best carnitas I've ever had). My greatest desire is that Speedy Taco can someday clone their taco truck (and staff, of course) and situate one in every major city, starting with LA. Just be sure you park it somewhere near my house. read more
