Wanted to like it, but I'm in the bland camp. The food looks beautiful. As you can see in the pictures, you get plenty. Tacos are beautifully plated with extra-mile garnish including grilled onions, grilled jalapeno/serrano, radish and lime. Despite that, and even with plenty of salsa, the flavor was just not there. The tacos I got were just bland. I've been to both the truck and the restaurant and tried a few different kinds of meats. Figured I'd better try the chicken too as that's the namesake, but aside from texture, everything tasted pretty much the same. read more

Fast and nice ppl but best part the food is authentic fresh and delicious! Their tacos are best in Eureka with fresh lime cilantro and radishes and I always get the chile relleno burrito. I had high hopes for this place but unfortunately was disappointed. I order the chicken super burrito. First, the burrito is massive, could easily feed two people, which I guess is not bad thing. However, the chicken, beans, and rice were bland and the chicken tasted like it had been sitting in a warmer for several hours. I couldn't eat my burrito. This spot is my favorite Mexican food shop in Humboldt County. I tried a bunch to find out which I think uses best ingredients and had the most authentic taste. I grew up In Southern California and often went to Tijuana, Mx for lunch as I worked close to the border. This place has Tacos Al Pastor that are as close as I've had so far from Mexico. Beans and Rice are good my kids love their bean and cheese burritos. I recommend trying this spot on if you like authentic Mexican food. read more

Amazing food! Wow! I have been picking at the different food places around here since I moved here a few months ago and while I thought I found a winner last week, today topped that one! The truck has changed from the photos a little bit same menu etc. the truck is located on Broadway across from the theater. There's ample parking at the truck and the service is super fast. Now... let's talk food. I had a shrimp burrito that I swear tasted like it came off mi familias grill right to my mouth. It tasted like home. Flavors mi abuela used to conjure up. The carne asada super burrito? Just as tasty and they were both the size of small babies. I could tell by the weight alone when they handed me the bag. Bonus- each burrito came with chips and salsa. Now I didn't think I could eat it all... it looked like two meals in one but it was THAT good and before I knew it... I was full. And it was gone. Just like that! Mission style burritos in the Northern California Lost Coast...WINNING! I had chatted with some locals and asked their opinion on Mexican food trucks and they recommended this place which was precariously placed in the back of a gas station parking lot. I thought that the burrito was the best option due to its size but then I was limited to one meat so I guess I need to return to try the chicken. I got the carne asada as its typically a good choice anywhere. Burrito only took about 3 minutes to make and decided to hangout at the table under the canopy and eat there. I believe that the burrito was made then grilled as the tortilla would indicate as much. Everything was delicious; meat was salted nicely, rice was soft, beans were definitely made with lard. And for the price of $7.50 this was my lunch and dinner. Just wish they had more salsa options other than the red I received. read more

Perhaps they cater to the average gringo but I'm not the typical sun-deprived Humboldtian. The food was bland and at least a third more expensive than their competitors. The salsa reminds me of mild Pace Picante Sauce and offered nothing to the mainly rice filled "super" burrito. Their portions are quite large which is a small consolation due to the food being so plain and flavorless. There are much better options IMHO, namely Speedy Taco (2 blocks south) and Taco Brothers (on 5th at the north end of town). read more

I see bad reviews but obviously these people don't know how to order good food. I've never disappointed I go like 3 times a week since they first opened. Overdue review for al pastor super burrito, I've tried all the taco trucks and this is my new gem. Unfortunately the scenery includes plentiful degenerates and junkies outside by the 76 station on Broadway, don't let that discourage you, the owners are super friendly. Simply put, this is the best al pastor in Eureka right now, enjoy. Plump, long burrito heavy on the meat for under $9, no lettuce filler like you find elsewhere.
