Great bagels on the Northern California coast. Boiled, as they should be. Wasn't expecting much, but it was a pleasant surprise

already had coffee in hand...last place was out of food so we came here. they were also pretty much out of everything here =( they said they have plain or raisin...i asked for plain bagel sandwich...well we both got raisin... it was oddly ok vs awful. i'm sure if we came earlier in the day we would have had more options.. the place is pretty cool but i found better breakfast spots so who knows if i'll return... if you like bagels...the bagels are great here but i'm not a bagel fan ..i would have been happy with just the eggs...but i didn't see that option on the menu. read more

I literally downloaded this app for this review. Allergen alert and poor service! My wife is allergic to jalapeños, got a guacamole topped bagel and she said it tasted spicy. I went and asked them if it had jalapeños in it, they said no. My wife said it really tasted spicy so she went up and asked three of the counter workers to which they all said no. The man who was at the register with glasses kind of had an attitude about it, insisting there was no jalapeños, then the girl behind the counter said to double check the recipe. Low and be hold- jalapeños. We paid 50 dollars for 2 bagels and this is the service? They refunded only that sandwich, which I appreciated, but I explicitly said its because she has an allergy and they all said no multiple times without even checking. Not going back. read more

The Arcata stores customer service is horrendous! I waited for 20 minutes to purchase 2 bagels. I was third in line at the register. The staff and the manager ignored all the customers while they talked to each other. The owner Dennis does not give a damn about about the horrible service. The Arcata store has the worst customer service in all of Humboldt. I will not return. read more

Solid bagelry! My family came here for a quick lunch, though I'm sure they are more popular for breakfast. I loved how many bagel options they offer (including an everything bagel shaped like a slug) and the outdoor seating. It's in a great location in downtown Arcadia so easy to find and walk around after. read more

You cannot come to Arcata/Eureka and not have at least one bagel. I love that you can mix and match to get more variety with a single bagel. I got my favorite TomOnion bagel and added their amazing guacamole. And for the other half (my "dessert") I got cream cheese and blackberry jam. The combo of salty sweet is fantastic! The bagels really are different. And the specialty sandwiches are brilliant. Try a slug! It can be a little noisy, but it's worth it, and you can sit outside, get your bagels to go, or pick them up at the Murphy's. Don't be scared of the line, it moves super fast, but my order has never (in 20 years!) been wrong! read more

Easy counter service with a lovely variety of bagel sandwiches to order. A very easy breakfast hangout. My Grandpa Goren is the classic bagel, lox, capers and cream cheese. I had the cheddar jalapeño bagel and it was a nice addition for the jalapeño spice. read more

I've been enjoying Los Bagels since they first opened (I remember when that location was a butcher shop), and I have always been happy with the service--until today. I don't live in Arcata, so I only eat there when I visit. I went in this morning and asked for a dozen jalapeno begals. There were only six left in the bin, but the young woman who waited on me checked in the back and told me they had nine back there. So I ordered a dozen, and asked for one with butter on half and cream cheese on half (my usual). We also ordered four chocolate rugelach, a veggie delight, and a coffee. They asked for a name, and we gave them one. We stood there for fifteen minutes. People who came in after us were served and left. Our bagels came to the counter, but our name was never called. My bagel was smothered in cream cheese on both sides. The dozen jalapenos bagels never came, and when I asked about them I was told that they only had four left (apparently my dozen got sold off while I was standing there waiting). I asked for a few other varieties to flesh out the dozen, and a young man filled a bag for me (with his bare hands). And to top it off, when we checked our bag for the four rugelach, it contained only three. The shop was busy, but I've seen it far busier in the forty years I've been a customer. Maybe the owner needs to drop by and check on things from time to time. Or the workers need better training. read more

One of my favorite bagels spots. I went to college at Cal Poly Humboldt and it was my first time visiting in 6 years and this was my first stop. The slug slime is a MUST, so much better than everything bagel seasoning in my opinion. Cucumbin on a slug is my favorite bagel. Service and ambiance is what you'd expect, nothing crazy. It's fine I guess? The bagels are tasty and the specialty items like "Gauc and Lox" are too. Problem is that it's not $15 a meal good. To find a place to sit down on a Saturday morning and enjoy just a bagel makes you feel like a packed sardine. Unfortunately not in the fun "I'm part of something bigger" way. The espresso isn't made with drinking it straight in mind. It almost tastes chalky, comes in a comically large coffee cup for just one shot. In Los Bagels defense, it's not a coffee shop and the fella at the counter gave me a strange look when it was ordered. Los bagels is alright if you're showing a buddy around town for the first time, or someone gets you a gift card. read more

Returned after many years, still kind, patient, & helpful customer service. We were make aware of the free fixing with each bagel. It was a cold morning so we opted for indoors. Being indoors made it feel like home, especially growing up in Los Angeles. The mural on the other hand threw me off, on one part it was wonderful to see the lovely people interacting with each other but on the other hand the people by the window were made to look sad, un-invited, and serious. Amazing bagels! Just docked a star because it is a bit pricey for a bagel (adding cream cheese is $3.50!!). It had a generous layer of cream cheese that wasn't overwhelming in portion size. Topped with crisp fresh onion, and ripe tomato. I also ordered a Chai Latte with Espresso and oat milk. It was presented beautifully with a design on top, and piping hot. Ambiance: Decorated wonderfully with art, cozy, vibrant. Music playing quietly, sounds of espresso machines steaming. I love going here everytime i visit. It has gotten expensive to eat here but the bagels are so worth it. Homemade bagels and cream cheese. Plus any fish you get is locally caught.it is all so incredibly good. Especially with the larrupin sauce. It is a must on the bagels with cream cheese. My husband's go to is lox with larrupin. Las bagels has the best customer service of any bagel place here in humble county. The reason for the one star because they've changed their price. I went in and order two plain bagels with butter and was charged almost 7 dollars. When I asked why they showed me that to get butter on my bagel it's an extra $1.50. Can leave that a buck 50 for a slab of butter. The counter felt bad that a lot of people were upset about the new pricing... I get it that things get more expensive but butter $1.50? read more

Prices steep-you can easily get very expensive, tho basic bagel and cream cheese reasonable, $8 for a few small pieces of bacon was annoying. Fantastic chai. Was hoping for a better bagel experience with all the raving reviews. This location is super cute and colorful and a great place to sit and hangout for your morning. I ordered the egg and chorizo on an onion bagel and ended up being pretty disappointed unfortunately. The onions were completely burnt and I'm pretty sure it was 90% egg, 10% chorizo. There weren't any redeeming factors in the food unfortunately. I tried my friends lox bagel with goat cheese and capers and it was so salty we had to scrape off most of the goat cheese to not have to drink water after every bite. read more

Dropped by on our way out of Humboldt county for a quick breakfast. The place was busy but the wait wasn't too bad. There are tables outside with a few inside if you want to stay around for a bit. Their day old bagels are a good deal if you wanted to grab a few for later. It is a self service spot, where you order at the front and find your own seat. Plus bus your own table. read more
